Pata hai aaj kya hua, so last night i was talking to a friend about some cases regarding men and women so we had a convo about this recent incident siya goyal one...so i told him thats wrong obv and then he comes up with this ki aaj kal ldko ke sath kitna atyachar ho rha h this and that which i totally agree then i bought up about how women hve been surviving...

He replied,

"Kuch aurate bhi hoti hai waise hi."

I said,

"Khali 2-4 cases kya aaye to zamana badal gaya hai?"

Then he said something that genuinely shocked me:

"Ki jinko bina maare samjhaya hi nahi ja sakta. (Isko leak mat kar dena 😂😂😂)"

I asked him

"Are you seriously saying some women deserve to be beaten? Do you think that justifies domestic violence?"

Instead of taking it back, he joked that ki haan meri fatt gyi h na

At that point I simply replied,

"Pata chal raha hai."

Then I told him:

"I'm sorry, I can't be friends with this kind of mentality."

And I blocked him.

I know people say "it was just a joke," but jokes often reveal what someone finds acceptable. I don't want friends who think hitting women is something that can be laughed about or justified.

Did I overreact, or would you have done the same?

TL;DR :- Today, a friend casually said that "some women can't be understood without beating them." I called him out, asked if he was seriously justifying domestic violence, and instead of apologizing, he laughed it off. That was enough for me to end the friendship and block him.
