Deli Boys Cancelled! Dark comedy starring Poorna Jagannathan

Sad news for one of our “Sidewalks Entertainment” guests:

Hulu has canceled “Deli Boys” after two seasons. Starring Poorna Jagannathan as Lucky Auntie, the dark comedy followed two pampered brothers (played by Asif Ali and Saagar Shaikh) who inherited their late father’s convenience stores, only to discover they were a front for a drug cartel.

The series also featured Alfie Fuller, Brian George, and Fred Armisen, along with guest appearances by Kumail Nanjiani, Andrew Rannells, Lilly Singh, and Tan France.

According to a Deadline exclusive and its sources, the decision was made due to low viewership and streaming numbers relative to production costs, despite strong critical acclaim.

'The Ark' Season 3 Streaming

Now that the second episode of season 3 of The Ark is upon us, we can finally find a place to stream the third season for people who don’t have Syfy or a cable subscription. It appears we can watch episodes via next-day streaming on Fandango (at least in the US). It’s free, and it doesn’t appear that you need to sign up. Fandango is now owned by Versant, which took ownership of Syfy and other cable channels after spinning off from NBCUniversal last year.

As mentioned in my earlier post that Plex was going to have it, this didn’t pan out. It looks like Plex made a season 3 placeholder with nowhere to watch the new episodes. Seasons 1 and 2 are the only ones available.

It appears another place to watch season 3 is the ElectricNow app itself, the production company/owners of the series. It costs money, and you have to pay for the full season upfront.

*** UPDATE:

  • MysteriousDelay6266 has mentioned that the second episode of season 3 is on YouTube under the SyFy channel. Maybe the full episodes will be released there, too?
  • salmi01 and Much-Piccolo-2165 have mentioned the seasons can be streamed on Kanopy, where you can stream thousands of films for free by the generous support of your public library or university. The latest two episodes of The Ark are there. You need an active library card (and a participating library) to view. From what I can tell, Electric Entertainment has many of their productions on Kanopy, including new season 2 episodes of The Librarians: The Next Chapter weekly.
