Similar ones can still be found across the former Soviet Union.
Their golden age was the 1960s–1980s, when they decorated community centers, factories, administrative buildings, and apartment blocks.
Most depicted communist ideals or Soviet achievements in science, sports, and space exploration. Just admiring the art.
Game stalzone
It has the classic look of Soviet department stores, government buildings, and factory. Even the brickwork patterns are exactly the same.

Been following a game called Warhounds, still unreleased, and the footage keeps reminding me of a mix of a few favorites. Got that squad and gear management feel close to Jagged Alliance, the strategic layer feels like it is leaning into Phoenix Point territory, and the actual combat looks like it takes a lot of cues from XCOM2.
Anyone else come across this one?
Red skies, twisted trees, Silhouettes that look like they've wandered out of a nightmare. If Tim Burton ever made a movie set in the Zone, it'd probably look something like this.
During an Emission, stalzone transforms into a horror
It's the middle of summer, yet this track instantly throws me straight into Christmas.
Every time I start as a Dwarf in LU4, this theme begins to play. It's calm, cozy, and magic melodic. To me, this sound has always sounded like Christmas.
And then, out of nowhere, those metal riffs kick in. I will definitely be launching this company during the Christmas holidays.
We all know why they're there, and games probably wouldn't be as fun without things like this. Okay.

I've always loved this style with comic book inserts. The most memorable ones for me are definitely Comic Zone and XIII.
And now summer has left as if it never came at all. It’s warm still where the sun falls. But it’s not enough.
Whatever I wanted to happen fell right into my hands like a five-fingered leaf. But it’s not enough.
The just and unjust played their necessary part and burned into light. But it’s not enough.
Life tucked me behind its back and shielded me from cuffs. I’ve had such good luck. But it’s not enough.
My leaves have yet to blaze; my branches have not yet broken. The day is clear as glass — but it’s not enough.

There are several moments where the camera switches to an over-the-shoulder view behind the unit.
It reminded me of playing tabletop WH40K, where I'd often lean over the table to check whether a model actually had line of sight to its target.
Since the developers have said they're moving away from hit percentages in favor of simulated projectiles, visibility, and obstacles.
Is the third-person camera actually meant to help you check line of sight before taking a shot, or is it purely for cinematic effect?🤔

"Bring me 30 wolf tails."
"Now I need 45 murloc teeth."
"Actually... make that 100 boar tusks."
And the best part? Killing 30 wolves doesn't give you 30 tails. Apparently half the wolves in MMORPGs are born without tails, because after slaughtering an entire forest you somehow end up with... 8.
I know a lot of people hate these quests, but they've come full circle for me. They're so ridiculous that I genuinely love them now.
I'm back in mmorpgs after twenty years. but i'm chasing wolves again. Every time I get one of these quests, it instantly feels like home.
I accidentally caught the golden hour, and for a second I forgot I was playing a game. And music...I`m crying. Honestly, love this style
I don't remember getting destroyed this hard on Wave 8 before in Packed Lair
I only killed one hero.
Pretty sure they just slipped on a rock or it's a stroke 😅
I guess it's just a character rank in WarHounds, because otherwise he must've started fighting when he was 4 years old lol.
Fair warning, this used to be a pretty rough-looking f2p extraction shooter set in Chernobyl. I just checked back in and they reworked a ton of stuff. New lighting, new face models with proper lip sync, full English voiceover finally coming in, and proximity voice chat. They also reworked the starting missions, since apparently new player retention was pretty bad.
Still not sure if the P2W concerns from before got addressed, but visually this is a completely different product. Has anyone else tried the new version yet?
I discovered it by accident when I launched the game. Really nice feature.
But why didn't the Packed Lair` developers announce it anywhere, or did I just miss something?
