I LOVE beasts of Nurgle. they are my favorite daemon of all time. They look awesome and i’m in love with them.
I want to take one for my 1k list but, im afraid it’ll be a huge nerf as i dont know how good they are for my Night lords army.
Hello, sorry for posting a question like this but im stuck with deciding an army real bad.
I like the EC and TS a lot, i think aesthetically they’re both really cool and i can relate/find myself in the factions as well.
I do have a little pros and cons comparison outside of lore
EC (Pro’s)
- I personally would probably fall to Slaanesh
- I already own a flawless blades box
- Fulgrim’s model is awesome!
- I own and enjoyed a book of theirs (Renegades lords of excess)
- I like the detail and variation in their units
- Cool Daemons (Daemonettes, Fiends)
- Variation between melee and range
EC (Cons)
- Can’t find a good paint scheme
- I don’t like the wing logo or their name
- No good catch phrases
- Friend already collects them
TS (pro’s)
- Tons of paint scheme ideas
- Love Tzaangors, vortex beast
- Have a kill team
- My LGS has a display of them that i can’t stop looking at
- Super cool poses on the characters
- I love wizards and magic
TS (cons)
- I don’t like Magnus his model
- Apparently very complicated
- Nearly purely ranged?
So, this is all excluding lore, i don’t know much detailed lore on either of these factions. I’ve watched youtube videos and read the one book on the EC and think they’re cool, but i’m not sure if i’m ready to commit to them over Thousand sons yet as i don’t know enough TS lore besides the basics. Specifically after their fall.

Her insta is @emmie_ptc
For those that don't know, it includes:
- A daemon prince
- 20 infractors / tormentors
- 12 Noise marines
Equals about 825 points in total (if winged DP)
I have never played a game of 40k in my life, only kill team, so how should i build this army? And, to reach 1k, what should i get (in the future) to build upon it?
For detachment, i'm thinking of doing carnaval as i like our daemons, but i might go Coterie or Bladesmen instead.
My friends play Adeptus sororitas, Black templars, Necrons, Ravenguard and also EC.
My LGS has a unit of chaos terminators for cheaper i could probably go and pick up.
I’m debating whether to start playing EC or WE as my first army for 11th edition.
I’ve played kill team for about a year and collected various other miniatures but i want to start an army.
Both armies seem to have small ranges and a big melee focus. For appearance i love both, and i have ideas for colour schemes for both.
When it comes to actual lore, i have a book on an EC warband but they end up fighting Khorne cultists later on, i thought they were both pretty interesting.
if i lived in the universe, id probably fall to Slaanesh, i generally find her a more interesting god, Khorne would be cooler if he also supported vengeance a lot i feel like.
I know everyone here will be biased, so i asked in EC as well.
I’m looking for a DM for me and a group of friends, or for an existing group that i could join.
I live near Antwerp in Belgium.
We would prefer offline, but the version of D&D doesn’t really matter! I just want to get into the game, desperately.
I’m debating on what army to start and these two factions are big options i’m eyeing. i found both battle forces of the EC for 400 bucks together online and i think both are equally cool.
I feel like Slaanesh would suit me more in the sense that i’d fall for him if i were in the universe, i have a very addictive personality.
Now, i can only really base my decision on rules now, except i’ve never played a game of 40k! so i don’t understand much of the regular discourse about the rules because well, i’ve never played.
I have however played Kill team, as death guard.
What i liked about them is that they had options for shooting and melee, especially the flamethrower guy, and that they could roll to get one wound back after being attacked. I didn’t like how slow they were though.
Obviously because it’s chaos it can’t be all good, needs to be somewhat disgusting and not overpowered
But i’m really curious what kind of corruption people can come up with
Hello all, i’ve been cooking up some homebrew lore for my warband and i wanted them to specifically hate the Word bearers for turning Angron into an immortal daemon instead of letting him rest in death. So their (delusional) goal is to kill Lorgar.
Thing is, revenge, a targeted campaign like this, needs some brainpower. I was thinking my Warlord could be one of the World eaters that tried to stop the ascension ritual of Angron but failed and was then ripped to shreds by Angron. He could’ve somehow survived and been given tons of replacements for his ripped apart body, and maybe thus also have the nails removed?
He’s still angry, of course, but not mindless.
Is this lore viable? Could he have gotten them removed somehow?
I’m considering getting into admech, i find the skitarii super cool as cyborg soldiers with a sort of hive intelligence level, and their design is great.
I have a tech priest already that i got as a gift!
Now, i like the memes and lore and all but
tech stuff isn’t really me, i kind of suck with tech in real life (the machine spirit doesn’t favour me)
Is this aspect (the theme of the faction not suiting me) something that should deter me?
Hello everyone.
I want to buy my first world eaters army and i have 2 options.
Store 1:
- Daemonkin battle force
- Forge fiend
- Goremongers
this would be 276 bucks without shipping costs.
Or, alternatively
Store 2;
- Combat patrol
- Forge fiend
- Goremongers
- Exalted 8 bound
- Slaughterbound
this would roughly be 320 bucks (i’d be getting the Goremongers separately)
Also without any shipping costs.
What do you guys think i should do? Both equal roughly 1k points, im definitely interested in running more daemons like flesh hounds for example down the line no matter what i pick.
I’ve never really built a list before either so idk what im doing.
I’m considering getting a world eaters army but i don’t know much about their lore besides that nails make them super duper angry.
I’m just wondering if their characters have depth, if their story is tragic and interesting. If there’s more to them then just aaaa angry kill kill, as a new player,
The box can build 7 karnivores brigands and stalkers i believe. How many should i build of each to fight him?
He has a very heavy based army with terminators, a dreadnought, the black templars combat patrol, and some battle sisters to support.
It’d be a 1k incursion fight, and im new to warhammer.
I’ve had a long history of problems with my self esteem and i’ve had a period of depression, self loathing and alcohol abuse because of it, Growing up i was frequently told i wasn’t enough and never impressed anyone.
Now that im a young adult and received some proper guidance im confident to say im actually good at a lot of things :)
A few examples, i paint warhammer miniatures as a hobby, i’ve gotten good at that. I’m good at making people open up to me, im relatively smart and im good at following recipes. I’d say im good at argumentation as well.
Now, there is a difference between skill and talent. What i described are skills, i learned them with practice.
I sucked at painting when i first started, i used to be very socially awkward, a bit stupid and struggled with speaking clearly as well. I practiced and developed in those skills.
But i don’t think i’ve ever had something i was good at from the start? no innate talents, at least what i can think of.
I find that kind of unfortunate, and i want to look for things that i was kind of “made for” in that sense? something i’m naturally adept at. Obviously i won’t be expert in anything but, just good at it so it’s a proper TALENT.
How did you guys discover your talents? is it possible i just don’t have any?
For my little guys i’m fine with doing simple bases, but i definitely want potential for big highly detailed bases for future bigger minis.
I don’t know anything about colour theory so idk what colours could fit here.
Hello all. I’m a heretic, xeno scum (i play Tyranids)
A good friend of mine’s birthday is coming up and he’s building a Black templar army.
He has the combat patrol and two boxes of Sororitas as allies.
I’m in need for ideas on what to buy him, i don’t know anything about the imperial factions considering i have 0 interest in them myself.
He’s mentioned wanting Helbrecht or whatever he’s called but wants to wait with him until he’s a better painter.
Hello everyone.
I’ve been into warhammer for about a year or two now, mostly getting mini’s of the month or miniature boxes of tons of factions i’m interested in.
Tyranids were the one faction i was interested in but didn’t buy stuff from, i did however have them thrown into my face, hard.
I got one early on in the hobby as a trade with a friend, then i got 4 more from mini’s of the month, and then i got a paint starter box and a few leviathan box termagaunts from another friend as a gift because he didn’t want them.
So, now i have 32 termagaunts in total. I figured out a scheme i want to make them and… it’s gonna take a while to finish them..
Currently im averaging 1 termagaunt per day (i paint late at night, after studying, so maybe an hour or so of work)
I’ve gotten 5 of them done so far.
Maybe i could speed up the process so far? Currently my recipe is:
- Wraithbone basecoat on the ones i primed black, i only just got a white primer so only have a few white ones.
- Aeldari emerald on the flesh
- Black legion carapace, feet and claws
- Red venom, eyes, tongue, little weird arm holes
- Mechanicus gray highlight carapace
- Drakenhof nightshade gums
- Wraithbone teeth
Viola.
I haven’t decided on what kind of base i want yet, so i’m skipping them for now.
