Is it beneficial to teach children a second language even if it's not your native language?

Hello everyone!

I have studied Chinese for a total of ten years, and lived in China for four. I am mostly fluent but as everyone may know, Chinese is a difficult language and I definitely am nowhere near native fluency but have no difficulty communicating in friendship and daily life.

Everyone I know wants me to teach my kids (2yo and 4yo) Chinese but I have avoided it so far because I'm afraid of teaching them my grammatical errors and pronunciation errors.

Is there still a benefit to reading to my kids in Chinese and doing Chinese songs etc if I am not natively fluent?

Would I look good with copper hair?

I recently bleached my hair since this pic and it's a little copper. I don't HATE it so I thought I might try and lean into it. Do you think I'd look good with copper hair? If so what shade?

Does anyone feel like their cup causes cramping?

Hello everyone! I'm wondering if I'm the only one that feels like my cup makes cramping worse especially in the first days of my period. Is it possible I need to try a different brand?

I am using the diva cup model 2 since I had two children.

I NEVER thought I could make something like this!

Hello everyone!! It's not finished yet but I'm so excited to share my work in progress!! I shared in another post I have been doing graphite portraits for years and have always wanted to do color but was too intimidated. I had a short spurt of trying watercolor portraits and was not having great results.

This is my very first full colored pencil portrait! I never would have thought I had the skill to achieve something like this. It's very encouraging for me to keep going and keep practicing.

First time colored portrait

So I've been doing graphite portraits for years but no one ever tells you how different it is to go from graphite to color 😵‍💫 this is my first time doing color portrait with watercolor and colored pencils. Second pic is just watercolor before adding colored pencils. No details on the hat because my focus was the face

I love grills but....

If I had enough money for a full set of golds I'd be using that money for a good coverup first 😩

How to start doing portraits in color?

So I'm pretty good at portraits, I've done photo realism for years now but I'm starting to get into watercolor specifically. I'm having a REALLY hard time with color and shading without a graphite pencil 😂

Portraits have always been my favorite subject matter and I've always wanted to explore color. I LOVE color. However after starting to practice with watercolor this week I feel a little discouraged. I know all I need to do is practice but would love some resources to steer me in the right direction so I'm not learning completely from trial and error!

How to go from this to a more neutral slightly warm blonde?

Second picture is my before hair. I bleached and added a wella 9cb demi permanent hair dye. Don't know where to go from here

Does it need to be retired

I was told in another sub it's too shallow but not advice from a piercer. Do shops normally do I discount towards another piercing if they messed one up? I saved for this piercing and can't afford to just get another one 😭 I'm so bummed.

2 1/2 week old eyebrow, titanium, internally threaded, saline solution

Am I paranoid or is it rejecting? If not, what should I do about the small bumps? The very last picture (with the glasses on) is from the day I got the piercing

What "level" am I?

Looking for a blonde dye to put on top and cancel out the yellow. I don't want to go darker so I'm trying to figure out what level I bleached to tonight but i can't decide if I'm 8 or 9 😆

How long did it take you to memorize the "rules" of your method?

Hello everyone! I started learning symptopro in March and started getting overwhelmed so I took a break, Tried hormonal birth control, remembered why I decided to stop hormonal birth control in the first place five years ago 😂, and have now decided to get back to studying lol.

Sometimes the rules seem so confusing. Charting sensation, tissue test, and CM separately is all fine and dandy but when they start telling you how any of these three could effect the way you chart the others is where it starts to feel overwhelming. And it's just the beginning.

Wondering how long it took everyone to get the hang of it and memorize all the rules so hopefully I can try to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Third day- already want to switch

Hello everyone!

I made the decision to get back on birth control after being off for five years. I wanted something a little bit more low maintenance than taking a pull every day. I am on Lexapro and already forget to take it at about once every two weeks 🥴 so I decided to try nuvaring, I ended up being prescribed generic and I started it Saturday.

Today is Monday so that makes it my third day and I just feel exhausted and overall "yucky". I don't have much appetite and easily irritated.

Because of the Lexapro I already struggle with things. I have been getting better as I have been tapering down from it but the last three days (last two days especially) remind me how I felt at my worst days of depression. I am a stay at home mom with two kids and just hate feeling like this. I can't give my kids my all.

I know it hasn't even been a week yet so it's a little soon to say to switch as I know the body can take up to three months to adjust. What is the MINIMUM time you would give to see if a birth control will work for you? Thinking it could take three months of feeling like this have me overthinking and feeling like I can't do it

What to expect with my grandpa's radiation treatment?

Hello everyone my grandpa is 88 years old and was diagnosed with cancer. He is a very private person so all I know is there's a deep sore on his cheek (where the cancer is located) and it hasn't spread anywhere else. Some kind of more rare form of cancer.

My grandpa is like a father to me and I'm sick to my stomach not knowing what symptoms one may expect with his treatment. We were just told today he will be having radiation five days a week for three to four weeks.

How much pain or discomfort can I expect to see him have from this? If he's going to decline during treatment I just really want to be mentally prepared.

Thank you in advance.

Beautiful symbolism of sketches in the margins

From the artist that posted it- "Had the absolute honour of doing one of my bestie's back pieces! (Needs a lil touch up session for some of the red) A concept i had that reallv suited (bestie) because of the wav she thinks about tattoos. A lot of her tattoos are like sketches from the margins of a notebook so this wav she has a place to add more. We started her off with a pastel tomato sketch and _____ added some lil dinosaurs"

Took out the names

Looking for very basic laptop in US

Hi everyone! I have a low budget but also have very basic needs. I hope you can help! Thanks in advance. I have looked through other people's requests but mostly people are looking for something very specific with performance on a lower budget.

LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE

Country

US

Budget

$300usd

Are you open to refurbs/used options?

Yes and I'm aware it may be my best option

Screen size

Any

Weight limit

Any, I will not be taking it with me often. Mostly for home use

Purpose

Internet browsing, editing /writing documents, canva, Photoshop, itunes

Form factor

Any

Intended usage

Internet browsing, editing /writing documents, canva, Photoshop, itunes

Desired battery life

Doesn't matter, once again I will mostly be using it at home. I live in a camper so don't have space for a desktop.

Please list, in order of most important to least important, the priority between Size, Weight, Performance, Battery life

Performance is my main concern, as shown I will not be doing anything too heavy. But I currently have a Chromebook and I need a real laptop now 😂 I was drawn in by the cheap price of Chromebooks and ended up dumbfounded by how limited they are. I would LOVE for it to be lighter weight but I know my options are slim with my budget.
