High Hopes For DMZ

I love the gameplay loop of an extraction shooter. I got way more into them with arc and now marathon, which marathon is clearly on its way out.

I didn't play much DMZ back in the day because I was more of a warzone guy, but now I'm so excited for DMZ with mw4. I'm hoping it's super addicting as a gameplay loop, easy to hop in and out of raids, and has progression regardless of always exfilling.

I am a long time COD fan (2003) with a second kid on the way in August, so I will be purchasing mw4 on my switch 2 as well as PC eventually when I can get back to it. Just came to share my excitement. Hope everyone else is as hyped as me!

Coolin In The Cosmodrome

You all convinced me to snag the game and all dlc. I just started up and I'm just chilling and learning a little in the cosmodrome and holy cow.

The art style, movement, gunplay, performance/graphics. This game is a VIBE. I cannot wait to dive in and learn more.

Any tips, tricks, guidance, or hints are appreciated and welcomed! See you out there guardians!

Another Potential Guardian

I already posted elsewhere, but it seems the internet hates this game and Bungie. Thought I would ask for good measure here.

Game is on sale for steam summer sale. The entirety of it for around 20 bucks and I have the money on my steam account from a gift card.

Is it worth getting into or attempting to for that price? I've always loved the art style, always loved halo games and fps games. I love shooting and I love looting. I dabble in pvp. I can play controller or kbm so I'd like to know your preferences.

Disclaimer: I'm not a big lore or story guy. I tend to blow through that stuff and just like good gameplay. So what do y'all think? Guide me!

Destiny 2

Another D2 post, but in my case I'm looking for something fun to grind a little bit with different activities that doesn't have too difficult of mechanics and systems to comprehend.

I don't care too much about lore and storylines, but enjoy following a little of a "main storyline" with other things to do.

Games I've loved in recent years: halo, cod, Diablo 4, marathon, arc raiders, cyberpunk, overwatch, Titan quest 2, poe2(kind of).

I'll add that most of this will be played solo most likely. Maybe with one friend. I'll be purchasing on steam if I do, so it's currently 20 bucks or so for everything.

Game Is Different Without Survival Mode

I'm not sure what happened really other than survival mode ending or the playerbase shrinking, but this has been my favorite game since launch. It's just quickly becoming something that isn't just fun for my friends and I anymore.

I'm all for a more hardcore fps with stakes, but this game within the last week and a half or so has been grueling. Many nights and days without exfilling. Anyone else feel the shift?

I play on kbm with a few buddies and also some on controller (we don't consider ourselves amazing, but decent), but it seems we are constantly getting steam rolled as of late, and this wasn't an issue season 1 and even during the first weeks of season 2.

Like I said, shrinking player base, removal of survival experimental queue, and more has just really limited my crews' fun.

Edit: just to give some people hope, while I still miss survival, I actually exfilled 3 in a row this morning filling while playing solo. Games got me hooked for sure and I keep coming back lol

Nostalgia Finally Happened

As someone who has been avid about playing on PC at a desk now for a hot minute, I find myself very excited to move back to a tv/handheld soon, and I never thought this would happen.

I play a lot of fps games, some rpgs, all kinds of stuff ever since I started in the 90s and for some reason the news of COD (I know I know) coming to the switch has me very excited to be able to chill on my couch with a big TV and just goof off in pubs for fun.

I have a toddler and a newborn on the way in August, so I know making it to my PC uninterrupted will be much more difficult, so my switch 2 will be getting much more play time. I am honestly super excited to just relax while gaming instead of hitting the rig at my desk.

I just feel like I miss the nostalgia of TV gaming without worrying about optimizing settings, performance, and being able to relax more.

So Is Packet Burst Just A Server Issue

Just got this game recently and since the reloaded update I have been getting a ton of packet burst while playing. I have a wired connection and setup all of the appropriate port forwards to ensure an open NAT type. I also adjusted all my graphics settings to the recommended lower settings as well.

Rig: r7 7700x, RTX 3080 10gb, 32gb ram, windows 11

Is this just a thing now?

Call Of Duty Speculation

So I like many others am pretty excited for COD on switch. To be honest as the website says, they are natively building the game for switch. Watch them pull off a miracle and make it run even over 60fps in handheld. Anyone else think it's a possibility? I do.

Excited To Hop In

Snagged the game on sale. 50% off on bnet right now. I played the beta and loved it, but couldn't afford the 70 dollars at the time. Right now I could swing the 35 for it. Can't wait to try it out! Any recommendations or tips welcomed!

Edit: this game is so freaking fun. I'm glad I snagged it. Thanks for all the reccomendations.

How I Maintain High Fps

Not sure if this will help anyone considering this game is pretty CPU bound and my settings are preference related but thought I'd share!

I currently can get a stable 200fps on outpost using these tips/settings. My rig is a r7 7700x, 10gb 3080, 32gb ram

- First off I use project lasso or the task manager to set marathon to high priority and uncheck CPU affinity 0. That's a must.

- Now I run this game in 1440 resolution and I use all the highest settings, but what I use is is dlss performance mode but you HAVE to use dlss model k. I thought it defaulted to that, but it does not. So you need to override it via the Nvidia app.

- Lastly (because I have no noticeable latency, I use amd fsr frame gen and set the in game frame limiter to half my monitors refresh rate (around 118). This still boosts the fps over 200.

These are the settings and tweaks I used to truly maintain around 200plus fps in game. I know some may have different preferences and what not, but the game truly still looks and plays fantastic. Hope this may help someone.

Slow Download Speed While Docked

So I have browsed the subs on Reddit here and tried all of the troubleshooting advice offered for enabling speedier download speeds on my switch 2.

I changed the MTU value, disabled ipv6, changed DNS settings, and troubleshooted my router as well.

I noticed when my switch is docked my download speeds for some weird reason get throttled. I literally just undock the switch and I get way faster speeds. Does anyone know why this could be or have experienced this?

I finally got my speeds higher with the other troubleshooting tips, but for some reason while docked, I am getting throttled speeds.

We Need More

We need more news! More drops! More leaks! More anything!

I personally am super hyped for this game, I took a break for blops 6/7 and cannot wait for IW to do this installment. I myself will be purchasing the game on PC and most likely switch depending on how the game performs and looks!

So IW, activision, whoever....give us more!

Call Of Duty On Switch

How are we thinking this will run? Will it have all the modes included in the version with PC/ps/Xbox? They released some details on their DMZ mode that look pretty ambitious.

I'm really looking forward to this release on switch this year for the portability and because I simply will not have time this fall/winter to hide away at my PC (newborn on the way!).

I know it was announced but not available for preorder yet and there hasn't been much talk yet. Let me know if I missed anything!

Optional Wipes Are Dumb

That's really it.

These last few days have been so fun. Everyone is kitted and looking for smoke. I'll take these wipes every few months over having the option to not wipe any day. It's a "zero regrets and use your best gear" type of lobby almost every match and it's a blast.

Worth It For 4 Months

Just looking for some genuine feedback. As a kbm player I am looking to switch back to controller for cod only come October for mw4. Is this game in its current state worth it to practice cod on controller until October?

I played the beta and loved it I just never purchased because I got shilled into thinking BF6 would be more fun (it was not).

So bottom line is, is the game worth it for the next 4ish months in its current state?

Hopped On Again

Man this game was peak COD. I snagged it on steam back in march for cheap and haven't played since 2020. I had all my old weapons and skins so I loaded up the pumpkin punisher grau from the haunting. So much fun.

I really hope IW can deliver on mw4. I'll be be ready!
