For those of you who snagged, what are your thoughts? I'm loving it. It's my first playthrough. Graphics look great and gameplay is awesome.

Side note, anyone get any disconnects while playing or is that just me? I had one, and didn't know if it was just servers since it's new!

So I have dabbled in elden ring at a maximum of like 5 hours on PC. I don't remember much, other than it was fun and I knew I'd return, I just had a lot going on at the time. With a turn of events I now have a newborn (as well as a toddler) and I am DEFINITELY snagging the tarnished edition on switch 2. I am super excited for it.

So with that being said, what are some irrefutable new player tips to really aid in making the game a little more smooth for a player who hasn't played souls like games? Gimme your top few or five! Nothing too crazy like spoilers! Just a little guidance!

For me anyways. I just had my second son with my wife and the open exploration, the ability to pause the game, the endless possibilities, and all are just perfect.

I never played this title until now on my switch 2. It's gorgeous and performs so well. I love the open ended exploration. I think after this I'll try elden ring or something. Drop your recommendations please!

Well the time has come and I will be having another newborn around. This means my switch 2 will get much more playtime than my PC.

I snagged botw as my game to play on my night shifts. What are some noob pointers? Or should I go in blind on my first playthrough? What's the consensus!

For starters, this is my first "soulslike" other than some elden ring hours, I don't own gamepass, and I have my second newborn arriving in a few days, so I bought this game with the intent on just logging some hours before my inevitable decline in gaming time.

I thoroughly enjoy this game though. The loop, the combat, the aesthetic, and even interactions while squad filling (currently none of my friends own the game).

Solos has been semi chill, so it's nice to just run a combat bag or lower tier kit and just explore and have fun, where trios I like to engage with as much as possible on the map and take a later extract.

I think they struck something big with this being the first third person soulslike PVPve extraction game, and I'm looking forward to playing once my home settled a little!

I just randomly saw this game on some Instagram reels l, and snagged on steam with an old gift card balance.

As a huge fan of the fantasy vibe, as well as extraction games, I really am enjoying the game so far.

The graphics and performance are pretty darn good on my rig, and the world they created is very cool. I enjoy the (so far) simplistic extraction mechanics as I am still learning the games systems.

The skill trees seem in depth so I can't wait to dive in more to the class building. They also have a decent selection of classes to start.

Combat is very fun and engaging. The third person perspective makes it great as well.

I haven't run into any major complaints yet. Between the solid performance, great combat, and extraction loop, I can see myself logging some hours for sure.

I'm really interested in this title. I've played arc, delta force, marathon. I'm just curious how the outlook is for the game in terms of matchmaking (will no lifers just dominate and the game get too sweaty) and how's the progression look for someone who may play casually?

Like I said the game looks fun and incredible. I just don't want another marathon situation. I love marathon, but it's only hardcore players and there's no incentive to play casually.

People here convinced me to snag windrose, and I am quite pleased.

I turned down the difficulty and sliders on my world to just kind of kick back and explore, quest, build, and have fun. This is huge for me as my main game rotation is all pvp shooters. I love the pace of this game.

My other appreciation is how amazing the game is graphically. For once I'm not needing to chase frames, so I maxed out the settings and get around 60fps, which is more than enough. The game is gorgeous.

This one is a gem!

I turn 34 in a few days, and I can't stand singleplayer games. They bore the life out of me. No social interaction is what it is I believe. I genuinely use gaming as a means of staying in contact with friends and being social seeing as it is much harder to see friends as we grow older.

For reference I have been gaming since the 90s. Enjoyed games across all genres since then. I just find that these days I'd rather hop in and out of matches in pvp games and have some sort of social interaction in games.

I'm also looking for recommendations to get out of this slump. I last played cyberpunk2077 a few years back and really liked it, but before that I cannot remember a sp game I enjoyed.

As we all know know, rook was kind of nerfed this season. I think a good middle ground would be allowing more opportunities to progress season level and factions with rook. I myself don't play traditional solos, so when I'm playing solo it is usually rook. Any thoughts? At least give us back the claymores!

Looking to possibly snag this as a more relaxing title. My main games in rotation right now are literally all fps games, and I miss having a game I can relax with.

With that being said, how chill is this game? Are there difficulty settings? Can you just explore and collect materials at any pace? How's the chill factor?

I constantly see on here that people say "oh the purple shields don't matter it's only a few more shots" and that it's so satisfying when you make a come up on a team while running a free kit.

No way is this happening constantly. Maybe 10% of the time.

My point being, there's just no chance in hell that these fill lobbies are out playing fully kitted teams running the map in a premade.

Disclaimer: I know how incredible it feels to make a come up on a kitted team, I just think it's not really happening that often. (Including 1v3s as rook)

I'm not sure what it is. This year, with IW being the devs, I am so hyped for this game. I'm not sure if they've all been burned too much by activision and their practices or what. It seems I can't find anyone who enjoys the franchise now. Does anyone else feel the same? Just thought I'd vent here, and I guess I'll have to enjoy it with all of you guys.

I have a decent backlog on steam, I play other shooters and different games from time to time, but ever since launch I am just not able to put this game down. The intensity, thrill, gunplay, aesthetic. It's all just so freaking good. The gameplay loop (including rook runs) has me hooked.

The only way I'll stop playing is when those servers shut down, which could be very soon. I feel like the musicians on the Titanic to be honest. If the ships going down, I'm just going to keep playing until I can't.

Just snagged the game on steam summer sale recently, so I got all the expansions and what not. I am learning now how much depth this game has and wow it is awesome.

I am looking into builds for hunter, but it seems everything is mostly endgame or totally requires exotics. So what do I do now that I'm in the beginning? Just theorycraft and have fun with what I enjoy? Should I even focus on a build? Is there a build for very early game? Looking for some advice!

I've been playing this game pretty exclusively since launch. While I do enjoy it, it seems no one else does. Friends, randoms, the internet consensus. It's exhausting tbh.

I know I shouldn't care what others think if I enjoy something, but I do play many games for the social aspect. With 6k steam peaks now, and such an unforgiving experience for new players, awful matchmaking, and increased queue times, it's just not a great experience for most. Vault breakers isn't going to do a damn thing to bring in players, and that's a fact.

All of this makes me feel like I'm wasting my time on a game that could be over any minute. Has any game made such an enormous comeback in the history of live service games? I don't know one.

Just to preface I have been playing cod since 2003, and Im by no means an insanely good player, but I can hold my own.

The last TWO times I played this game, people dropped nukes. Now that used to be such a rarity, but is that super common in this game? It just has me confused.
