Do you think there any of the pillar men species alive or if they even existed in the SBR universe?

I know the story never actually touches on this topic but i was left wondering that because the story put it clear that at one point they were a species that was almost wiped out by Kars but at one point had many more of them alive living alongside humans.

But the question is, were there any pillar men in the new universe?
