How’s my dialogue?

I’m writing a coming of age story, where the character Kevin is confused and lost with growing up. He wants to escape, but he doesn’t know who he is. Dan and Luke are supposed to be sort of unlikable, so their dialogue is a little rude.

I’m currently 18 and I’ve never written a script before so if it sucks just tell me, this is just one scene of a really unfinished project at the moment. I just got into screenwriting, music and lyrics is really all my basis.

Switching clubs?

I am not a new fan, just wondering. I know it’s taboo to switch from one big club to another, but what if you switched support from a big club, to one in a lower division? What do you guys think?

I got my booster a week ago, and while it isn't quite as sore as the day I got it, my shoulder and arm are still quite sore. Is this normal?

Tinnitus?

I’ve been getting increasingly more instances of ringing in my left ear recently and I’m worried. I’m only 18, but I perform on stage. I can’t just quit playing music, what are some other steps to prevent or lessen it?

Cancel one of the Olympics. Bring back the Worlds Fair

The Worlds fair was full of unique and interesting innovations from all over the globe! The unveiling of so many interesting inventions and places. And yes not all the inventions were good, that is true, but it sounds much more interesting than watching people do sports.

Now I am not saying cancel both olympic events, i believe it is still important. But can we just do one? Like just all the sports or choose less sports... that way we can bring back one of the most interesting events to have ever happened (in my opinion) it is the reason we have some of the beautiful architecture today for example Joseph Paxtons Crytal Palace! Which was a greenhouse built for the world fair! There are so many beautiful marvels that were due to the World faire. Rather than another stadium, we could have a place we could continue to enjoy.

- also we wouldn't have the eiffel tower without the world's fair.

People are way too fucking old to not know that the Trojan horse isn’t real

The amount of grown people I know who act like this is an actual historical event is insane. It didn’t happen, it’s part of mythology. By the time the Iliad and the Odyssey were written, the actual “event” it was referring to was already at least 500 years old. Plus, Homer’s stories include demigods, cyclops, rock monsters, and other mythical creatures that no one believes. So why do people even assume that the Trojan Horse is real, when they obviously wouldn’t believe in the rest of the story? I’ve been a Greek myth buff since childhood, and I’ve just never gotten this. No one corrects anyone on this either. Everyone I know thinks that the Trojan Horse was an actual military tactic. That shit never happened. “Oh it was written by an Ancient Greek”, yeah, 500 years after it supposedly happened! People don’t even know if Homer existed and wasn’t just a group of people or a different, so I ask again, if everything else is said to be myth, than why the fuck do you still believe in the Trojan Horse? You are a fucking adult, do you really think that actual soldiers would’ve been like “oh yeah, suddenly our greatest rivals want to give us a gift, you know, a hollow wooden horse, wow look how they changed in just a day” get a fucking grip

Does getting a degree help you become a detective?

I’m not sure if I want to be a cop or not, I’m just wondering. I feel like it would make sense that a person with a degree in psychology or criminal justice would make a good detective, but at the same time I’m aware that detectives are usually chosen from normal patrol cops. How much does a degree help when trying to become a detective?

Trooper solo difficulty and tips

I’ve been learning the Trooper and it’s a very fun song. I’m a guitar player who has been playing for a year and a half and mainly does jazz and jam band music but I’m going back to learn metal as that’s what I originally started playing to learns the leads and chords are very fun and quite easy, but I get to the solo and while it’s not impossible, it’s very tricky to get right. Any tips on how to tackle it?

Big parties absolutely suck

Im not talking about introvert situations, where I hate big social interactions, I just don’t like big parties. I’m younger and a lot of people I know are into this, I’ll just never get it. I don’t enjoy drinking (i feel I have just a worse reaction to alcohol even with just a tiny bit), so that’s probably one thing, and I just don’t get the hype. I like big concerts, because i feel like everyone there is united with the love of one thing, it’s far easier to get along with others, and there’s a lot of enjoyment. I enjoy more lowkey gatherings, sitting around and having food, maybe watching a soccer match or ufc fight, those are always fun. Partying just to party doesn’t make sense to me. Again I feel no enjoyment from alcohol and a good amount of the people at these places have nothing in common with me, not a bad thing ofc, or I just don’t get along with. Usually in my friend group, we have a fire and chill or something like that, but everytime I turn down an invite to a big party, I feel like a bum. I just think these things absolutely suck and there’s really not that much enjoyment from them that you couldn’t get from a concert or small gathering.

Making metal music out of private school?

For context, I’ve been a metalhead since a small child, practically my first genre (thanks dad) and now I’m 18, I’ve become way more into writing music. I’m already very involved in jazz guitar and bass as well as jazz fusion and jam bands, but I’ve pretty much played every genre at this point. I’m planning on getting a music degree in college too, but I was wondering if I plan on writing metal music, and mixing it with other genres like jazz fusion (like Athiest), I’m going to get clowned because of my not so difficult background. How are musicians from well off background perceived in metal? Or do people really not care at all?

Which Brasileiro team has the most metalhead fans?

Trying to get into Brazilian football, and I love to watch every team, but I can’t just choose one to root for. I tried to select the team of my favorite MMA fighters, but they all differ or some don’t have one, so I’ve resorted to asking this. As a huge metalhead, which club has the largest metalhead?

The 2026 Belgium away kit for the World Cup is great and one of the best World Cup 2026 kits.

I’ve been seeing it get a lot of hate online, but I think other wise. I can’t see why it has a 2.96/5 rating on Kit Archive, when for me it is clearly one of the prettiest and most unique kits in the tournament. I bought one the other day and I love how it looks. I usually hate pink and blue mixed, but I just love how clean it looks. The white badge is the cherry on top for me. I think it’s a beautiful kit, as much hate as it’s gotten. I get that maybe it doesn’t entirely resemble the art piece it’s meant to, but that doesn’t make the kit bad.

Why do many philosophers and scholars look down on Transcendentalism?

I am very very new to philosophy, and I always see Transcendentalism and Transcendental idealism looked down upon compared to other modern philosophies. I am studying the topic now, and I understand that there isn’t one true philosophy behind the idea, as it was made up of many different thinkers, but I just wanted to understand why it’s viewed differently. I have no stance on the topic I just want to learn more.

How popular is soccer in Japan?

I’m looking to learn more about Japanese soccer culture and maybe start watching the J. league. I am not from Japan and I have not been able to travel there yet, and I just want to ask about its popularity. I know baseball is more popular, but is soccer still huge in Japan? Are the league players well known amongst people in the country, or just to fans of the sport? In the US, we have the MLS, but the only players known to most Americans are the ones who play in Europe or in the national team, so I was wondering if Japan is similar. Thanks!

I’m American and a huge fan of football. I really enjoy watching non European leagues, in addition to the main season. Are there any specific tips you may have when it comes to watching games, and the team I should follow?

Creepy TikTok Song

It’s a piano song that I see mainly in videos due to true crime and conspiracies. I saw one about the Epstein files today. It starts with this motif where it goes to a lower not and then walks up to a higher one.

Songs for a last dance?

Not like a wedding last dance, but like a sports one or career one. Like a final boxing match that’s for the belt, or a last championship game, knowing you could very well lose. Sort of a melancholy vibe, but pretty epic too.

Team not scoring in player career mode?

I’m currently playing as a midfielder for AS Monaco and my team just won’t score no matter how open the goals are. Every game ends in a draw and it’s like solid strikers in game can’t even make an easy shot. I remember in the older games players would score too much in career modes, but now they will barely score at all. Any solutions to fix this?

How to stop thinking of dying?

I’m new here, but recently I’ve not gotten my mind off of death. A few months ago, a friend tragically passed in a car accident, and since then I’ve always been thinking about how you never know when you’ll die. If that wasn’t scary enough, I can’t stop thinking of the fact that death is just the end, I don’t believe in any heaven or dogma, so it feels like death will be just nothingness. I am 18 and it’s hard to fathom that one day everything could change and I’ll never see my dad or my friends again. I feel like I’m scared that something will happen to me even though I can never know it. I can’t get any of this off my mind. It’s weird to fathom all this too, that I’m thinking of not existing, even though I would never know how to feel that. Any help is appreciated, this has been for disturbing a lot of things in my life. I’m not looking for ment health advice, but just how to not think about this.
