Why don’t gay men have a term equivalent to “sapphic”

Has anyone else noticed that the word "lesbian" is constantly being replaced out for "sapphic". I think we all know that it's because “sapphic” by definition is inclusive towards “woman-aligned”and non-binary people ( which is annoying in itself since the term comes from Sappho...an actual lesbian )

Regardless, if inclusivity was the actual goal here, then why don’t gay men have their equally as common word to describe their sexuality?
I looked it up and apparently it’s called “Achillean” but I’ve genuinely never seen that term being used online or in real life.

Idk I guess I’m just frustrated that it’s always lesbians who are expected to broaden out our label or just replace the whole thing with a new word, when the same is never expected for gay men.

Found this on Twitter 😭

Okay obviously I’m not taking a random Twitter post seriously but if you feel like you’re not supposed to identify as a lesbian…you probably shouldn’t 😅 I also don't even know how one can feel like a lesbian, either you are one or you aren't. Anyways what do y’all think?

Is this acne?

Hi everyone I’m 16F, Ive never dealt with acne before but recently Ive been seeing these red spots on my right cheek. They started appearing about 3-4 days ago and haven’t gotten better since.

For skincare, I wash my face with a gentle cleanser and then put on moisturizer and sunscreen. I do this in the morning and at night.

Any advice on how to get rid of this is appreciated , TIA

Hobbies you guys find attractive 🤔

I know a lot of us use this sub to vent about things we can’t talk about in other lesbian spaces (me included)

but I thought it might be nice to switch things up and talk about something positive!
What hobbies or activities do you find attractive in women?

For me, whenever I see women playing guitar or drums it is literally the hottest thing ever…I remember back when I was a freshman I made myself learn how to play guitar just so I could be in a band with this girl I liked 😭

Anyways I’m curious, what hobbies/passions do you guys find attractive and why?

The whole non-men thing

Okay, so I've recently been seeing lesbians defined as "non-men attracted to non-men”

Tbh at first I thought it was a joke 💀 , but apparently people are genuinely serious about it. What confuses me is why we're suddenly defining things by what they aren't instead of what they are.

Like for example, you wouldn't call a table a "non-chair." That's ridiculous. Once you start defining things that way, the category becomes so broad that it loses any clear meaning.
I get that the goal is to make the label more inclusive, but why does inclusivity always seem to come at the expense of lesbians?
This logic never seems to be applied to gay men, they don’t get defined as "non-women attracted to non-women." For some reason nobody ever seems interested in deconstructing or broadening that label in the same way.

Also, in a time where there are SO many highly specific labels like “cupiosexual” or “abrosexual” I don’t get why the people who feel “lesbian”doesn't accurately describe them just create a new label instead of rewriting one that's existed for decades?

If every label has to become as broad and flexible as possible, then what is even the point of having labels in the first place? They're supposed to describe specific experiences, and yes be exclusive to certain types of people. Why are we fixing something that wasn't broken?
