This year, August 28 marks the 80th anniversary of the deportation of members of my people–the Volga Germans. I made this flag using a fiber laser, brass, and cold enamel
Dull Gret. Bruegel the Elder. 1563
Fiber laser. Bronze. Cold enamel. Just over 48 mm
In my work, I've tested a few materials: stainless steel, aluminum etc. Mostly CuZn37 brass. Today, for the first time in my life, I tried C5210 phosphor bronze. And it is amazing! I kept the exact same settings as I do for brass. You can see the comparison in the photo. The bronze works like butter and doesn't overheat. Bottom line: I will gradually be switching to this bronze
My laser: JPT 60W, M7, 110x110. 1 mm thickness for both
Tested it out. Fiber laser. Cold enamel. Brass. It took a bit of getting used to
Fiber laser. Brass. Cold enamel. I've made it in other colors too

Hi everyone. What settings would you recommend for phosphor bronze? Cutting, engraving? Closer to brass?
