Another weekend and another round of cooking with my son. He wanted to make burgers and coleslaw so that we did. Slaw was ok but missing celery seeds and maybe a dash of salt but still good. Burgers were good and plenty left in the freezer

Not actually really looking hard at the moment as I'm still trying to get my life together. But, still thought i'd check out Facebook dating as my wife had moved on before telling me we were even over. Not out of spite but just to see how Internet dating has changed. Also as my marriage left me quite isolated and ive always got on better with girls than blokes, it'd be nice just to maybe make some friends
Anyway, even after setting the age limit I still get women a lot younger than me (mid 30s). Some look like they'd be fun to chat to or meet for a pint but a massive part of my brain is going 'Noooooooooooooooo'. By the same token theres a lot of older ladies too, again who I wouldn't mind chatting to too (up to mid 50s) but same sort of deal. The absolute last thing I want to come across like is some kind of weirdo creep
What sort of age gap is even deemed 'normal' these days for a bloke in the dating world? Does anyone care anymore? Am I over thinking this??
Further adventures in cooking with my son. He asked to make this (god knows where he gets these ideas from!) and luckily I work 5 mins away from 3 excellent Asian cash and carries. Used FoodWishes.com recipe and the verdict was nice, boy liked it (even the tofu which surprised me). Next time less pepper and more vinegar. Less hot, more sour
UK based, 45 and marriage has broken down after 12 years. In the process of trying to move out and setting up home so I can have my boy 50/50. If im honest he is the only thing keeping me going at the moment.
My question is how do you cope with starting over? I work unsocial hours, have very niche interests, not many hobbies that could be considered group based, old friends have moved away / getting on with their lives. Any free time now will be me and the boy (which is absolutely not an issue, I love him to bits). I am generally very quiet and shy, not alot of confidence. Now add not very trusting to the mix too. Some would say antisocial, id say insular.
I'm lucky that work is good and the people have been brilliant but Ive never really socialised as I work so far away from home.
Part of me thinks that this'll be it. Alone pottering about until the inevitable. And I think thats fine now but I dont know.
Anyone else been through similar? How did you cope?
What are they likely to ask for? I'm in a private rent with a joint tenancy I have no way out of if my ex is to stay in it with our son and her son from another relationship. She's contacting UC tomorrow to get ball rolling, we're living separately in the house but she wants me to leave and I am packed to go. Can I just leave? What do I need to tell UC or wait for them to contact me once she's spoken to them? Will I need to prove my leaving? What would they accept as proof?

Another one with my boy, he actually helped today as this is one of his favourites. Homemade 'red sauce' which was fried and blended onions, a de-seeded chili, garlic, carrots, mushrooms, tinned plum tomatoes, beef stock cubes, Lidl basil and oregano passata, splash of Ketchup, Worcester sauce and tomato puree. Also some dried Italian mixed herbs, oregano and black pepper.
Meatballs were Aldi beef and pork mince, sage and onion stuffing mix instead of breadcrumbs and an egg to bind. Fried off the meatballs to brown and now cooking in the sauce. He's having it for dinner tomorrow woth the thought that it'll taste better the next day like chilli con carne and spaghetti bol does.
Also managed to avoid a foot photo. (I thought thet was a r/vinyljerk thing!!)
I thought it was bloody lovely, little man not so much (there goes my dream of taking him to St John's for lunch). Had it spread over Rye sourdough toast with just salt and pepper and was brilliant. Also had fresh anchovies in lemon, garlic and olive oil (he wasn't a fan), Halkidiki olives with pimento (he loved them), Pil Pil king prawns (he was a bit middling on), and spicy meatballs (he liked them but was a wimp on the spice). Not bad for a 7 y/o, glad he actually wants to at least try these things rather than out-and-out refuse them
My ever adventurous son decided the other day that he wanted to try bone marrow. I've never had it before but am always game to try new things. Ive been and bought some (pictured) and intend to soak in salt water overnight to draw out blood and impurities. Everything ive looked up says to season but theyve either been cut in half or cut into small slices before roasting. Can I roast these as-is or do I need to sterilise my coping saw to cut these down???
Tenant here. As above really, what does this mean in a legal sense? Has the renters reform act done away with them? Could.i just leave now too no recourse?
Marriage has broken down. Ex wife wants to stay in private rented house but probably will be unable to afford it until I leave but I can't leave as it will end tenancy for both of us. Was told about Untidy Tenancy by another user on here. How does this work?
As above. Caught in a vicious circle of not being able to leave as ex has asked me to because we're both joint on tenancy. Ive been main breadwinner paying all rent and bills whilst ex has had all the UC putting most towards house and kids and I top up as and where.
In order for her to pass affordability I need to leave but I can't leave and be liable for rent. As it stands her UC won't cover it but will once I leave. How to explain this to UC? We live pretty separately in the house now as it is. Can we say we've split and her money goes up?
Original charger died so got a replacement. The kept getting bios error saying it wouldn't charge due to unknown wattage. Then looked and saw charging socket was broken (just pins, no plastic inside). Just replaced socket and laptop won't boot. All I get is a long flashing white power switch. Ive tried the battery indictator on the side and that just flashes once (guess battery is really dead). I've tried win,ctrl,shift,b to wake from sleep and keyboard comes alight for a second before going dark again. If I close the laptop I can hear the fan start and stop at intervals about 5ish seconds apart.
Other than leave it to charge over night what can I do to try and get it booting?
As above really. I work full time, she stays at home and is a carer for her 18 y/o son with autism and we also have a 7 y/o together. For asked of ease is the above feasible if the landlord is willing or will the tenancy have to end and be restarted?
My marriage has broken down and we have a 7 y/o son together and my ex has an 18 y/o with autism who she is carer for. I am the only one who works so there are big deductions due to this. I will be leaving the house at some point once we've sorted out they can all stay and just remove me from the tenancy. Am I correct in thinking that the monthly payment will go up for her if we declare the split? I'm not expecting to get anything from UC once we split. Will her UC payment go up when I leave?
Marriage is breaking up and trying to wrap my head around 50/50 split of time. I currently work 6 till 2 which was to enable me to be able to collect our child from school as my soon to be ex wife had / has hospital appointments. It takes me about an hour to commute each way and I can be flexible with my hours. Im thinking I can change my hours and do longer days mon to Thurs and have Friday off. So id collect Thurs and drop off monday morning. Would that constitute a 50/50 split?
As above. I want to stay put with my son, I work full time and pay all bills. How does this work? Is there a legal way for me and my son to remain in our house and make my soon-to-be ex wife and her son from a different relationship leave the house?
I know there are some off-brand, cheaper LDAC earbuds, but since they are not popular, I have left them out. Also, SSC used to stand for scalable codec a while back. I know the sound signature of Buds Pro is great, always has been, but it's more about having options instead of being forced to use one. Also, aptX is open source. Only adaptive and lossless require a license. Samsung could at least add aptX HD. After all, that's what Android is for.
