A total of 10 cars were involved in the backstretch pile-up. Richmond can produce some hard hits! Hope we see a good race tomorrow

Kev and V fans, how do you feel about them purposefully trying to lure recovering alcoholics into their bar?

I guess the show is called shameless for a reason

Thoughts on who might get cut, or who we should keep?

Can someone explain why NASCAR/the fans hated tandem drafting?

It seems like every modern problem people have with drafting tracks is something that tandem drafting excelled at. What gives?

“redditors trying very hard to not notice any patterns right now” Coded race arguments break out on r/whoathatsinteresting

On a post about a Japanese restaurant in the Bronx creating a wall for those who have dined and dashed, a very familiar discussion starts to form, and spreads into many different heated arguments.

[https://www.reddit.com/r/whoathatsinteresting/s/geISoBeeNk] Linked comment says “Well Well Well (256 upvotes)

a multitude offshoot arguments occur:

“so we cant notice patterns but only when it’s white people”

“Is pattern recognition the new buzzword of regards? It’s useless without causal reasoning. Easiest shit to learn. Yet morons fail at it.”

Elsewhere in the comment threads:

“These “patterns” are presented to you. they’re not organic”

“oh really? so now we’re not supposed to believe the video evidence before our eyes.”

many more discussions ensue…

Was the Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series (MENCS) the lowest point of NASCAR popularity?

Obviously not counting the very beginning of NASCAR, was this the lowest point?

Veteran backup guard options

This list is not going to be great. but i think they’re all serviceable options for 3rd string G

DaQuan Jeffries:

when he was starting late in the season for us a couple seasons ago, i saw a player that understands NBA offense at a level consistent with a solid 3rd string G. not atrocious at anything, and doesn’t turn the ball over a lot. also a great hustle guy on defense.

Brandon Williams:

Actually a very interesting player, though not really a veteran. incredibly good slasher and scorer at the rim, but the rest of the offense is a bit suspect. young and has some upside.

Gabe Vincent:

Surely we won’t be getting Heat finals run Gabe Vincent, but you could do a lot worse for a backup. Athleticism seems kind of gone but can still get hot shooting and read the floor pretty well.

Russell Westbrook:

I don’t think this is going to happen, but it could be… fun? it seems he’s not in very high demand, and based on signing with the Kings last season, he just seems to want playing time. can we give him that though? i also feel like he’s the opposite of what you’d want in a 3rd string guard on a team with a bunch of young guys. will always have a soft spot for russ tho.

Honorable mentions:

Aaron Holiday

Seth Curry

Killian Hayes

sammi - am i missing something?

sammi is one of the most hated characters in the show, and i don't really get why...? her major events include: completely abandoned by frank. getting seduced by him. having an intellectually disabled son that she really cares about. having that son's life ruined because his half-brother coerces him into carrying hard drugs, and then everyone being mad at her for not letting him take the complete fall. almost murdered. i gotta be missing something right?

My friend and I spent a very long time making a tierlist of pokemon music, that included listening to and tiering over 200 themes, with at least 30 from each new gen game. Thoughts on our top 3 tiers?

this is the best of the best to us, b tier, which is just below where the screenshot cuts off, was by far our biggest tier

Move idea: Tag, you're it! A normal type pivot move that can only be used by normal types that have hands

What's one of the most *normal* games anyone plays? A game of tag! What do you use to tag people? Your hands! What do you do after you tag someone? You retreat!

This originally started as a way to give Slaking a little bit of life, but it could see other applications for other Pokemon as well. Obviously, unlike U-turn and Flip Turn, this pivot move can be blocked by an entire type (ghost). Regardless, it offers an interesting niche for normal type silk scarf users in lower tiers. Using Ambipom as an example, it can now have the option to run silk scarf with triple normal Fake Out/Tag/Double-Edge and really maximize the damage on everything it can do. For others, especially wish passers such as Audino, it can be a very good slow pivot option to get wishes to teammates and deal a bit of STAB damage. Now, for some pokemon, it's kind of unclear if they have hands or not. I count hands as appendages that contain protruding fingers or finger-like appendages (that's how Ursaring is in the picture).

For Slaking specifically, this opens up a world in which it still has its awful ability, but now has a way to deal damage without being a complete liability. 70 BP isnt groundbreaking, but its at least an option that would probably always be worth running and make it not so one-dimensional.

Thoughts?

Forgotten Nascar Drivers: Dakoda Armstrong

I was looking through race results from the 2010s and a familiar name kept popping up: Dakoda Armstrong, who raced in trucks and Xfinity from 2011-2017. He found most of his success with JGL racing, finishing 13th in the points in the 2016 xfinity series. That season, he actually had a single start in the JGR 18 at Iowa, finishing 5th, his best finish of the season.

In 2017, he was having another good season with JGL racing, with best finishes of 3rd at Daytona and 5th at Iowa. After Kentucky, with 6 races left in the season, he was dropped by JGL, still finishing 17th in the points standings despite missing the last 6 races. He would never compete in NASCAR again.

Anyone know more about his story? And does anyone know why the sudden departure from JGL?
