ISO Hyalite Opal Spots near the Rapidan River

Hi there! Im newer to the area and have discovered there's so many fossils and rock hounding opportunities here. But I have no idea where to start! It is me and my boyfriends 1 year anniversary and I would like us to go find some pretty rocks! I was doing my research online and found out that we have found Hyalite opals by the rapidan river here! I know I have a better chance by diabase formations, and even found some geological maps showing me the areas around here but when you zoom in the area names are too small to read!

So, I'm asking local rockhounds if they would be willing to share any spots they know of! And if not the rapidan, if anyone knows of any opalized wood hot spots near Quantico I'd take that too! Thanks in advance <3

I got an infected bug bite on my toe, which is unfortunately cellulitis. The doctor prescribed me oral antibiotics to take. If you've ever been on them before, you know antibiotic pills are HUGE for no reason. Im on day 3 at this point and managed to get them down pretty well the first 2 days. Side effects are extra bad but better than losing my toe. I go to take my morning dose today and I just CANNOT swallow it for some reason. I pull it out to add more water and try again, at this point its already disintegrating and im like fuck I need to take the full course. So I put it back in and try again, it breaks in half, I get one half swallowed and the other half hit my uvula so I gagged and ended up spitting an antibiotic slurry all over my hand. I got tears in my eyes at this point. I look at my disintegrated meds all over my hands, I grab my water bottle, and i end up licking the mushy remaining antibiotic off my hand followed with water to get that chalky stuff down. Definitely 0/10 would not recommend.

TL;DR: couldn't swallow antibiotic, spit antibiotic paste onto my hand, had to take antibiotics anyways so licked the rest off my hand and chugged with water

My kitten is 4 months old and she got spayed thursday! I'm trying to keep an eye out for any weird healing and was just wondering if this looks OK or if I should take her back to the vet? I emailed the vet that did the procedure a picture but they dont reopen until Monday! Just wondering if this is normal healing so far for day 3! (Also can't add image to post so I'll link it in the comments)

My 4mo kitten got spayed on Thursday and I sent a pic of her incision to the vet today but they dont reopen until Monday! I'll leave the pic in the comments because I can't post a pic directly for some reason! But yea basically the title, I just wanna make sure that shes ok!

I want to post some of my clips of good plays to social media(mostly tiktok) but i'm unsure of which orientation people prefer to see the content. I prefer to hold my phone straight up and down even though that does make the video itself smaller. Although I'm sure other people prioritize being able to see it better even if they have to turn their phone sideways. Im sure there are other people who share my opinion but I want to find out what the majority thinks so I can cater to that when I post! Thanks in advance if you take the time to respond

Hey all! I was looking for advice or if someone has been in a similar situation how they deal with it!

My (28f) bf (34m) have been together almost a year now! Living together for 5 months. People see me as a positive ray of sunshine, I mean sometimes I get down myself but always try to look on the bright side. My bf on the other hand is like a poster boy for pessimism. For background info, he is the breadwinner and I'm a stay at home girlfriend. He is very much of the mindset that a man provides and he doesn't want me to work unless its something I actually enjoy/want to do. He literally says if I work it would hurt his pride as a man, which is fine. I've been working since I was 15 so the break from that has been lovely, and I appreciate everything he does for me so much. The thing is, there's always something wrong. AC goes out, thats all that gets talked about the rest of the evening. I can come up with fixes, such as window units and he comes up with well what about HOA? But there are other houses in the neighborhood with them. Now he owns his house, so he is on the hook for replacing the HVAC unit unfortunately, but there are ways to stay cool until we're able to save up/get financing that are cheaper for the moment. This is just one small example.

I do what I can to try and help him be a bit more positive, but everyday there's always something wrong, and even things he can't change he dwells on for days and days. To help him be more positive, I always give my ideas on ways we can fix things/be comfy for the time being. Although I think all the negativity is getting to me and making me feel negative too. I think he ends up stuck thinking about how he CANT change something instead of what he CAN do. I'm sure hes stressed being the provider, it's not just him he has to care for but me and the house.

I clean around the house to try and keep his stress low, and if hes had an extra bad day I try and surprise him with food when he comes home or bedroom stuff later in the evening, but he's still just as pessimistic the next day. I guess I would just like to know what I can do besides just listening and sometimes offering advice that might help him see things from a brighter frame of mind? I've told him he might benefit from therapy but he said he's had it before and it didnt really work for him.

I used to be a lot more negative but then I had a delve with some psychedelics in my early 20s and it kind of rewired the way I look at things but I dont think thats viable for him since he has a job with clearance.

So if you have a pessimistic partner, what do you do to make their day better besides listening and advice? Ty in advance. I love him so much and want to see him happy.

TLDR; pessimistic bf is stressed about something everyday, what can I do besides listening/advice to make him happier in everyday life?

Hey all, hopefully you guys can give me some advice!

My cat Mcgee has eaten the Purina sensitive skin and stomach turkey flavored kibbles since I got him at 3yo. Hes 6 now! Just recently had to go pick up a new bag and he started throwing up after everytime he ate it. We thought maybe he had a stomach bug. That was the day before yesterday. Yesterday, he only threw up once but I noticed he WOULD NOT touch his kibbles. Usually that's his favorite thing. Today he has not thrown up and is keeping down his wet food fine, but again, not touching his kibbles. He'll sniff at them, and maybe give it a kick, and then he'll turn away, which is very unusual for him.

My mom Usually feeds him and says she thinks his kibbles smell a bit different than normal. Hes drinking his water fountain, eating his wet food, and using the litter box like normal. My bf is going to pick up a new bag of kibbles from a different store in case its a bad batch, but im worried because he threw up so much the first day he might not like this brand anymore. I guess what I'm trying to figure out is, has anyone had this happen before? Do you think it was a bad bag of kibbles? My mom and I plan on calling the manufacturer to make a report on it as well just in case. Im just worried about my boy :((
