I have always found it fascinating how people from Scandinavian countries speak English similar to how Americans and Canadians speak the language in rhotic form, by pronouncing the r's in words like computer or water. Meantime, you have Germans speaking English who have the non-rhoticism going on. Is this because the Scandinavian languages are already rhotic or the choice of learning American-Canadian verbal English?

What does everyone think will happen in the Primetime movie starring Robert Pattinson as Chris Hansen? Will the movie depict predators who actually showed up in the To Catch a Predator stings or make them generic preds? Why would they go with fake names versus the real people? Legal reasons? Also, will Bill Conradt be explicitly named in the movie? I hope so.

Today marks 2 months since Waymo suspended services in San Antonio after one of its vehicles was swept away in floodwaters following thunderstorms. I wonder if this marks the longest pause in Waymo's history? Curious what they have been doing.

What the heck was this movie? Armie Hammer's Vigilante character acting like this stoic freak who hates migrants and the government. Why is such a movie even released like this? I read it was banned in Germany. The director has beliefs that perhaps many do agree sadly but resorting to this bile of representation through film is a disgrace. Who else saw this movie and what did you think?

I visited Portland recently. First time back since before the days of COVID. While the weather was beautiful and all, I couldn't help but notice the lack of foot traffic downtown. It seemed homeless outnumbered the presence of non-homeless. I also noticed a number of vacant storefronts. It just seems Portland has so much potential but the vibes just aren't there for me because of the lack of people. Seattle and even Pittsburgh have a lot more going on in terms of non-homeless foot traffic.

Has anyone seen Disclosure Day or even the trailers? It's laughable how there are floor directors, makeup teams and an aura of network level TV news at the fictionalized news station in Kansas City. I guess Steven Spielberg's movie takes place in an alternate reality where TV news didn't get gobbled up by the big behemoths.

An incredibly mind blowing game that was very exciting but suddenly sunk in massive disappointment. How does everyone realistically see this NBA Finals ending? Is Saturday the end for the Spurs or will they hold on?

Spurs choked hard tonight. This will be one of those moments that's highlighted in future sports documentaries. Spurs still could make a comeback but who knows.

I wonder if Waymo will just end up calling it quits in San Antonio after the swept away car in April. It's been nearly two months of paused service and no word on if there will be a return.

Or do you think the movie will fictionalize the predators they show? Why would they fictionalize?

Spurs going to New York Monday. Not sure what the Spurs could cook up now to win but l hope they win at least one so it's not a clean sweep by the Knicks.
