Contamination OCD and kissing/physical relationships.

I started seeing someone after years of no physical interactions and recently kissed them. I peel my lips and skin around mouth a lot due to anxiety and it leads to cracked, bleeding and sore lips. A few days after I freaked out and started wondering whether you could get HIV from kissing with blood or cuts on lips. One of my OCD themes centre around a fear of getting HIV.

How do you guys deal with having physical relationships when you have contamination OCD? I’m already planning on getting a blood test to check after the relevant period has passed.

Exposure Risk for Kissing with Cuts on Lips and Mouth

Sorry if this is a silly post.

I chew the skin on around and inside my mouth and lips a lot causing bleeding and small patches of pink raw skin. If I made out with someone who also had cuts in their mouth and blood, is it possible to get HIV this way? There may have been bleeding when it occurred. Assuming that person was HIV positive, do I need to get PEP or do something here?

I know you cannot get it from kissing but why about kissing with bleeding lips and mouth.

Do prescribed benzos and sedatives sometimes make your anxiety/OCD worse?

Very niche and I’m not sure of anyone else has experienced this. I have had medication prescribed by my physicians to help with panic attacks or heightened anxiety/OCD. Things like benzodiazepines and sedatives.

They can be helpful but a few times, I have found that when I have taken these, I get certain obsessions randomly enter my mind. As in certain random “what if” situations. The issue here is, when I’m on these sedatives, my mind is much less able to tell what is realistic from what is fantastical.

So I could get a random intrusive thought telling me I have done a particular thing and I get severely anxious and spiral about said thing. For example, intrusive thought “what if you messaged something inappropriate to someone”. When the effects of the mediation wear off, it’s either I realise how ridiculous the obsession was or my nervous system actually starts to believe it and treat it as a threat.

Are perfumer bars IFRA compliant or allergy friendly?

I am looking at booking one of those perfume bars for a birthday party. The ones that have a bunch of different fragrances in dispensers at events that people can blend to create their own personalised ones. I think it’s cute idea but find it hard to believe that they would be ifra compliant and worry about potential allergies for any guests. Has anyone had these or used these before? I’d love some thoughts.

Is this case of jaw surgery haram?

I have a very protruded jaw. It’s caused me so much anxiety, and psychological issues. I never seriously considered surgical options until now as I have always assumed it would be haram. However, I am hoping I could get some thoughts. It is definitely quite protruded and I rarely see anyone with a mouth more protruded than mine, but I don’t know if it actually causes any medical issues as I’ve never had it assessed. My teeth are not flared and my gums are fine. It does not cause me any pain as far as I know. Would it be permitted to get surgery to fix this? I know that braces would be looked on more favourably, but they may not be strong enough to fix this issue. What would be the main difference between braces and jaw surgery that would make the former permissible?

Do you ever feel so ugly that you almost look subhuman or malformed?

Question is in the title really. Sometimes I see myself in the mirror or in pictures and want to break down and cry. Ugly is one thing, but I’m starting to feel some of my features look like they were disfigured. My mouth protrudes so much, I feel subhuman. My face is just so disgusting to me sometimes. Sorry if this is too much but I just need to say it and people around me never let me vent.

Protruding Jaw/ Bimax Protrusion

I have a protruding jaw, bimax protrusion that causes a lot of insecurities. It’s not so much on my direct side profile but when at an angle, I really hate the way it makes my face look and me feel. It’s also not from a massive overbite, my teeth are not pushed out it’s just the position of my jaw I believe.

Picture attached is of an anterior segmental osteotomy. After doing some research, I seem to only find surgeons that deal with this in South Korea but I’m based in the UK and would like to start there. I also cannot find much info about it. I want to start consultation but not even sure where to start. Orthodontist, max fax etc?

The idea of surgery scares me and idk if any surgeons in the UK would be willing to do the surgery if it’s not causing me any major issues. Just wanted some opinions, I am new to all this.

Employer asking for self assessment tax returns for background check

My employer based in England is doing background checks for my upcoming role and asked for my tax returns to prove was self employed in the last few years.

Is this legal and am I stupid for providing them? I provided tax calculation and overview but that was not sufficient. It’s a large company so I’m not worried about misuse but want to know if I should have refused based on it being too intrusive.

Employer asking for self assessment tax returns for background check

Hello!

I wanted to ask if anyone has ever been asked to provided full tax returns as evidence of self employment for a background check. Salary already agreed and contract signed.

They are specially asking for the return and not just the calculation or summary and it feels invasive. It’s a large company but even still. Wanted to know if this is common place.

Business AIRBUS A330-300 Worth It?

Hello all!

I would love to get some thoughts on whether the business Class on the AIRBUS A330-300 would be worth it. It’s from London to Lagos, Nigeria so I am sure it would be one of the older planes being used.

Wondering if anyone has any insight. It’s about £2.3k return and BA, Virgin and KLM are pretty obscene at the moment so I’d rather not pay for their business tickets this time.

Very Painful Pap Smear

Good news, I finally had a successful pap smear after not being able to go through one last year! However, it was so excruciatingly painful that I felt like I was being stabbed. First time I tried it last year, i was not anticipating much pain based on what I’d read in preparation. However, it was so painful I had to tell the nurse to stop. The smallest speculum was used and it was still almost unbearable.

The practitioner I had today was so lovely and I appreciated her patience and understanding. But even then it was so awful. People do say if you’ve not been sexually active, it is more painful but I don’t know if I have the energy to do that again in a few years.

Just before the start and during my period i get extreme pain in and around my belly button which is painful even when not touched. The pain on my period used to be pretty intense in my pelvic area but it seems to have migrated and is concentrated in the belly button. It transitions from dull ache to sharp pain and it’s very painful. I have had an ultrasound and they ruled out a hernia. There is no outward bulge but could it still be umbilical endometriosis? Has anyone had anything similar. I don’t really feel a nodule or anything.

I could go back to the doctor but not sure what else they would do tbh.
