Local Store Catalog From 1981

I have a pretty decent collection of old computers, discs, literature, miscellaneous hardware, cassettes and more. This was with a bunch of my literature that I forgot I had. It's the store's pricing catalog from a local computer store that has all the prices and merchandise that they sold, circa 1981.

Void Assembly - The Highest Sun

Here's my newest song called THE HIGHEST SUN that's a homage to 80s Synthpop! It's about living your life while struggling with the summer heat. I am the writer, composer, musician and singer as I produce all of my own music in my eclectic studio of collected instruments, synthesizers, handmade and circuit bent instruments, vintage microphones and so much more! I hope you enjoy my song as much as I enjoyed making it ✖️🖤✖️ - VOID ASSEMBLY

Studio Series Backing Track Tapes

I found these Amy Grant accompaniment tracks that were probably used for a church or maybe karaoke. They come with sheet music and maybe an autograph or someone using the J Card to get their pen to work.

Volksmusik, Schlager, Blasmusik and more!

Here's my obscure collection of random import cassettes of traditional music from abroad. I buy in bulk sometimes and there's always a few of these in the bunch. It's fun to pop one in the deck and experience something different than what I usually listen to. I've always enjoyed studying music and can always appreciate talent and musicianship.

I made an 80s inspired Synthpop song called The Highest Sun

I make many different styles of music but Synthpop will always be my favorite. I don't make enough Synthpop music and was inspired last month to write this homage to the genre. Erasure is my favorite band of all time. I definitely idolize Vince Clarke and hope to one day find an Andy Bell to write music with. Thanks for listening 🙏

A bunch of my old 90s flyers

I saw someone share theirs so I thought I'd share mine too! I have this binder and another couple shoeboxes of flyers from parties that I went to back in the day.

I used to cut out the Reason articles from my music magazines and put them into a plastic sheet binder.

I would sign up for free subscriptions of music magazines and had a few subscriptions as well. Any time there was a Reason article, I would cut it out and put it in my binder book. I would always refer to my homemade Reason bible when making music for tips, tricks and tutorials. I still have it and thought you guys would appreciate it. Here are some of the pages.

Grabbed this huge box of tapes at an estate sale as an add on for a few dollars

I went to an estate sale today and this big box was under a few boxes of records. I already purchased a bunch of records CDs and DVDs and I had a few bucks left so they gave me this. Here are some of the better tapes that I pulled from the box.

Got all this for $30 at an estate sale

I went to an estate sale on Saturday and picked up a few records then went back today and got a bunch more. Today was the last day of the sale so they were just giving them away. I ended up paying $10 a box and they were big boxes. I've since transferred them into my crates so that I can sort and clean them easier. There's a mix of Rock, Pop, New Wave, Synthpop, Disco, Funk, Jazz, Folk and more. I also bought 100+ CDs, maybe 20ish DVDs and a gigantic box of cassette tapes. I spent less than $100 for everything. I go to thrift stores, flea markets and everything in between regularly and finally got super lucky

So I went back to that estate sale with $40 and this happened...

I made a previous post about hitting the motherlode but apparently I hadn't used up all my luck after all! I got all these today for $40 from the same estate sale that I went to on Saturday. These were all left over and my CD collection is insane now.

Today's haul from an estate sale for $20!

Went to an estate sale and came up today. I'm in awe right now and so very happy. Most of everything is in pristine condition. Some of the DVDs are still sealed. I can't believe my luck today. 🙏

Hit the motherlode today at an estate sale

Got some of my favorite CDs and more plus a bunch of cassette tapes and a few records for $20. I rarely find anything at estate sales near me. Today the odds were in my favor. Everything is in amazing condition! There were thousands of CDs and records but mostly Country, Easy Listening and not so good Rock stuff. These were the hidden gems. I was just grabbing what I could and filling the crate (free half crate too). Oh yeah, got a bunch of DVDs too!

Post Grunge and Folk Rock finds

I love the Live CD and have been looking for it forever in the bins. I got to see Neil Young and Crazy Horse when Eddie Vedder bailed at a show and they came in to save the day. That CD is brand new and sealed. All the CDs were $1.50 each at Goodwill. I mostly dig for music and don't really buy curated stuff so finding the Live CD was awesome. Collective Soul and Cat Stevens were also great finds!

Level 42

I found four Level 42 tapes, Stevie Wonder, The Police, Sting and one of the Shell mix tapes plus a weird bonus tape that I'll use for my Noise music project. All these cassettes were 50¢ each!

Atari Games Add on a Record Sleeve

I've been cleaning my vinyl records and stumbled across this old ad for Atari 2600 games on one of the sleeves. I have a couple thousand records and this is the first time I've seen video games advertised on a record. I've included pictures of the flip side of the sleeve and the jacket too.

Tomita records

I love listening to and studying early synth music from the pioneers. Here's some of my Tomita records that I geek out to. I find lots of his records digging but they are always in bad shape. These are the nice ones that I saved.

Escapade on the glockenspiel

I just bought a copy of Rhythm Nation on cassette and tried to play part of Escapade on my new glockenspiel that I don't know how to play. I just played it by ear and am not sure if it's correct but it makes me happy.
