Tomorrow it will be a year ago since Operation SpiderWeb took place. (01.06.2025). Ukraine hit 5 airbases and took out 13 military planes.

The operation targeted 5 airbases

  • Belaya (Irkutsk region)
  • Dyagilevo (Ryazan region)
  • Ivanovo Severny (Ivanovo region)
  • Olenya (Murmansk region)
  • Ukrainka (Amur region)

And took out 12-13 planes.

  • 1x An-12 (Olenya)
  • 7-8x Tu-95 (Bear) strategic bombers (Olenya & Belaya)
  • 4x Tu-22M (Backfire) bombers (Belaya)

And targeted:

  • 2x A-50 airborne early warning and control aircraft (Ivanovo Severny)

Operation SpiderWeb happened on 01.06.2025. Exactly a year ago tomorrow.

That day was carefully chosen.

1st of June:

  • Military Transport Day in Russia aviation since 1931
  • Children's day in Ukraine *
  • The day that Ukraine gave up their nuclear weapons to Russia in 1996
