I am slowly getting into lore of Exorcists and really like it so far. I am about to read Oaths of Damnation yet, as well as the short story from the Successors book.

I was curious if anyone could shed more light on how Exorcists are to their allies? I understand that because of their nature, they tend to be secretive in order to protect their Chapter and work. But do we know if they work well with other Chapters? Or Astra Militarum? Do they care about civilian casualties or try to protect them and avoid collateral damage? Or do they just go after their target no matter the cost?

I understand that at first glance this might sound a bit like that typical "are they Salamanders good or Marines Malevolent bad?", but I am just trying to understand more what they are like.

so, I have been playing basically whole main game and also The Sky Breaker with some small mods for outfits and details. Was taking a small break from the game for about two weeks, now returned and none of the mods are applied to the game. I didn't change anything with the game, nor with my PC. Tried to also reinstall some, as well as he Snowdrop Modloader, but can't get it back to run. I have the blue folder with everything. Modloader in main file... Nothing changed since I played before. I really don't understand it.

Any ideas what might have happened and how to actually fix it?

so as I am going to starts Raptors army with the new Armageddong box arriving in few days, I have been scouring online and also through this subreddit and can't figure out what the correct heraldry is, as some posts are old, some even deleted, discussions vary...

What is the official heraldry for Raptors as of now?

1. Apparently they display the company by number on the knee pad instead of shoulder pad trim? Is that right?

2. How do the helmets work? Eavy Metal officially painted Raptors teminators with white helmets, suggesting that they follow Codex Astartes and veterans have white helmet. But on wiki, there is picture of Veteran Sergeant Laufrey who has black helmet with red stripe. Which, if I look at the pattern and Codex Astartes, would mean that yellow is for veteran and black for sergeant? Which is right then?

3. When looking at some painted models for inspiration, I noticed many people give some of their units off-white/bone colored shoulder pads with black bird Chapter symbol. What is the reason, what does it mark?

so I finally fell to the call of Great Horned Rat and bought the Skryre Warpswarm Battleforce box to start painting Skavens, yes yes. I am now reading more about the lore and clans, both in AoS and classic old Fantasy and I am not sure I understand how do the clans work in relation to certain units, both lore-wise and game-wise in AoS.

Let's say that I decide to paint Clan Skryre. So as they are these mad scientists, they have Doomwheels, Warpflame throwers, jezzails and all this technical stuff, right? But what about for example plaguemonks? Are those unique to just Clan Pestilens? Or gutter runners to Clan Eshin? On the contrary, does it mean that if I do Moulder or Mors, they do not really have Doomwheels or some of the mechanical toys?

These are all just examples, don't take them too literally. But I am trying to understand what the limits for Skaven clans are (if there are), what makes sense for each of the big clans lore-wise, but also what can be played?

so I explored a lot for AL in Horus Heresy and painted some models, but I am considering doing them also in 40k. I was wondering if in this time they also have some specific armor parts or weapons they use or if they are just regular Chaos Legionaires in teal armor?

Like they have lot of upgrade bits (helmets, chests, terminators) in Horus Heresy. There are Legion Specific sprues for 40k Chaos (Night Lords, Iron Warriors...), but does AL have also something like this?
I am aware that GW isn't making any upgrade sprue or bits as of now. But I am more like wondering if lore-wise there is anything specific at all that can either be kitbashed or acquired from 3rd party sources?

Hey guys, so I am currently running a permadeath for the Steam achievement to get to center of the galaxy. Messed up after using portal, bugged out and died. Just started a new run and right at the beginning, when I have to gather and make some stuff to repair my scanner and ship, I found grave about 700 units away from the ship and got the first portal glyph that's the only thing I need to get closer to the galaxy center and then it's just few warp jumps. I still kinda can't believe it, never saw it before. I always thought these graves are triggered only after speaking to the anomalies on space stations?

Hi guys! I was thinking about building some Stormcasts force for quite some time and now managed to get my hands on the Leena Stormspire at local store opening, so I guess the time has come. I have been checking the models range and did read some posts here and apparently at one point GW changed their size? Or the proportions? When did this happen? Is there some overview or list of which models are which? I assume stuff like models from the new starter is the new scale, but can't really tell with many other kits, so I am a bit confused on what to buy and build. I do not play the game, so don't really care for rules, for me it's just about building and painting some force for display and the fun of painting process itself.

newbie to AOS and Slaves to Darkness. I always loved the bulky style of Chaos Warriors and the huge shields and finally decided it's time to start an army. Bought the Spearhead box and I am now assembling them and considering options for painting. I have seen some people painting their Slaves in colors of specific Chaos Gods their army is pledged to, in their head canon. How does it work lore and gameplay-wise?

And if you have done this yourself, would you be willing to show some pictures of paintjobs and conversions for inspiration?

Hey guys, so, as the title says. I heard that in the basic game, it is better to finish all side quests before finishing the main story, as it can cause some issues. Is it the same case with DLCs (Sky Breaker, Spires, Ashes)? Or can I finish the main stories there and then go around and do all the side activities and quests without issues?

So, I finished the main story yesterday and have to say that I am thinking about lot of stuff now. One of the main things are Alma and Teylan, what they did and how they are treated, both by in-game characters and fandom. I always see lot of hate for Alma, but apparently people love Teylan and although I am aware that all of this is very subjective, personally, I don't get it and thus wanted to know more opinions.

IMHO, Teylan is much worse than Alma.

Alma was at the Sarentu massacre, yes. But she didn't know Mercer and Harding would do something like this and wanted to stop it, but let's be fair - what can a lone scientist do to stop a massacre like this when it starts? Sure, she messed up pretty bad then for lying about it to the kids. And we can argue if it was because of her own fear of Mercer, because of her ambitions and wish for TAP to be successful, or because she genuinely cared for the kids then and didn't want to hurt them more, even if it meant lying to them. She's a very complex character, but the hate she gets is IMHO too strong and undeserved.

On the other hand we have Teylan. Boy who grew up under Mercer's cruelty. Who saw him murder Ah'ari in cold blood. Who was about to be executed by his people when RDA evacuated from Pandora after the events of the first movie. And despite all this, he kept in touch with Mercer and fed him information about Resistance, which led to their massacre. And even after realising this and being overwhelmed by guilt and leaving the Resistance, what did Teylan do? Went back to Mercer and did more work for him again, willingly helping against his allies and other Sarentu. It might have been out of naivity or wish for family, but after so any occasions where he saw how evil Mercer is...?

What baffles me is how the in-game characters treat both Alma and Teylan. While, after learning the truth, everyone is angry at Alma, and rightfully so... They all seem to just be okay with Teylan, forgiving him instantly and trying to get him back without any anger or questions. And same for fandom, there is lot of hate for Alma, yet so many people just love Teylan.

What are your thoughts on this?
