Everything from the grateful Dead to Dolly Parton to Metallica deep cuts... what can I say.. I have eclectic musical tastes. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it, other than Amazon sucks

Will you ever grace us with a 4K release? I mean, it seems like such an obvious choice. a deluxe boxed set filled with assorted gougables and a ridiculous price tag and I'd be right there for it. And yet crickets

It was cheap and I have loved it since I was knee high to a grasshopper, by gum. I never understood all the shade that gets thrown at this movie. Plus the reviews of the 4K are generally positive.
Got it home, dropped it into the disc tray and gave it a spin.
WOW the colors really pop and the audio mix is impressive and...and... thud. It froze right out of the package and wouldn't budge no matter how many tricks I have up my sleeve. I may succumb to terminal Disappointment at any moment. It will promptly be returned to the 7th circle of Hades otherwise known as Walmart
And quite possibly the only format we're ever going to get. With all the Disney titles now under Sony's purview or whatever the deal is....If we don't even have a rumor to hang on to concerning a 4K release of Fantasia (,a crime against humanity) it's unlikely Alice will ever see the magic a 4K release could unlock.
Anyhow, this is a wonderful looking Blu-ray/DVD combo.
Colors pop as much as possible considering the age of the source material and the format available. Just owning the remarkably creative and just downright funny tea party scene that remains timeless and relevant as all great art tends to do. The writers and animator's have sworn over the decades that no pharmaceuticals or that wacky weed were involved in this production. But they used to say that about HR Puffinstuff as well. It remains a favorite of the chemically enhanced viewer for good reason.
What ever the case, it's a masterpiece of creativity with very good and acceptable video and a rather disappointing audio mix that will just have to do. Pick it up on Amazon for under ten bucks and enjoy your half cup of tea. Update: It's come to my attention that it has in fact been released on 4K !! So, you know, kindly disregard my earlier ramblings filled with ignorance and dreadful prose.
Or, more accurately, PARTS of my Soundbar. Gone is the Direct setting leaving only the movie and music options. But more importantly the EQ only has four options: Bass, treble and center which controls the main bar, and Subwoofer which works and tells me that the connection is good. But the surround speakers might as well not exist, there's no way to control them plus the height setting and balance and everything else is gone from the remote.
Was there a firmware update I wasn't aware of ? Plus whatever settings that remain after I adjust them just reset themselves once I close then reopen the app. I've tried all the usual cures.... unplugged everything, deleting than reinstalling the Vizio app.... which only leads you to Walmart and all that pain in the ass. My next step requires opening a window as far as it'll go and checking no one is down below...

I've slowly come to a conspiratorial realization that the HDMI cables that are included with your sound bar purchases may not be of the highest quality and exist only to be hurled out the nearest window. Even the high end brands participate in this blasphemy. Thoughts
Check out the director's commentary track on this delightful 4K release. That director is of course Mel Brooks and I don't think he fully understands the purpose of the entire concept of the glimpse behind the scenes and the insights his recollections might reveal.
No. Instead we are treated to an hour long rib splitting ramble that includes his favorite corned beef sandwich in New York City and the time he and Gene Wilder split one because it's really too much food for one person.
Also revealed is that the Jews run the best drycleaners and they never screw you over like the Orientals do...

First of all I'm aware that two of the most colorful characters in the series were played by actors who passed away in real life. 😭 I'm sure that the writers were basically forced to take the series in a new direction, a Herculean task to say the least. And judging by the results one they were not up to.
It's gone from dark and edgy to bright and just plain silly.
It's become a characture of it's original self. Gone too is it's theatrical cinematography and it's "how'd they do that?" tracking shots. Recall in episode one that baffling shot of the endlessly spinning hallway that represented getting high at a party? Go back and watch that scene and wonder how it was shot.
oh well just my opinion Every great show must end.

The horror of it all. Someone or something has hidden my TCL QM7 Google TV remote.. (I think that the blame is firmly on the little people who live in my salt shaker. The bastards)
But that's another thread. My question is which remote app is the one to choose. I've scoured my Android Play Store and downloaded a couple of clunkers that basically sucked... one was straight up malware that tried to take over my poor Moto G Power not even letting me delete the app.
But the point here is trying to download a decent app that's preferably free, but I'm willing to cough up a few bucks to escape the endless ads. Oh if only I'd stuck a Google tracking thingy on it when I had the chance.

Basically, it just stopped existing. All there was when turning on the channel was a blank white screen. No way to get around it because... well, just the aforementioned white screen. I've been watching YouTube through my Fire stick Max and that worked just fine.
Then suddenly tonight after at least a week with the blankness it just fixed itself. 🤓 WTF ? Anyone else experience anything like this? Beats the heck out of me
Perhaps it's time to take a deep breath and a couple of steps back and realize that just maybe we've all been played.
In our quest for the Atmos promised land we've been fooled by countless brands promising Atmos but delivering something short of the experience. Perhaps we've just fooled ourselves. Dolby Atmos requires ceiling mounted speakers or speakers that have a fire up addition and are part of a real sound system containing An amplifier and real wired speakers that can be quite an investment.
Soundbars can sound incredible to be sure... getting better all the time... I know, I collect them. But they deliver 5.1 or more channels... just not Atmos. A little Fisher Price plastic speaker pointed towards your ceiling tiles doesn't make Atmos magically appear.
Just venting my frustrations as I try once again to get my Bose 900 Smart Bar to connect to the now worthless app

Which one should I choose ? I've enjoyed my current player, the Sony USP-700 very much over the last 4 years or so. But the infamous complaint about this model, namely the skipping and freezing, no matter how clean and scratch free the disc is.... has been getting worse and worse. I don't know what happened it didn't used to ever freeze at all... It's frustrating as all fuck to have friends over to watch a movie only to deal with this issue. (We ended up watching Wicked on Peacock just to keep the kids happy... the horror of it all.
Plus it was advertised as streaming in 4K with Dolby Atmos.. which didn't happen... but that's another post. Read: Peacock Sucks Donkey's)
But back to the original question. I'm gonna miss the audio only out, since I'm a SACD collector. Sometimes I ponder buying the same Sony player over again thinking a brand new model might not have the freezing and skipping issues.
Anyway, any advice would be welcomed. Or if you feel compelled to suggest that I go and have vigorous relations with myself that's okay, too

I dunno about all that, but if you can name this game from this mysterious pic you know what's up. 😊 Sure the loading times are brutal, showing the PS3'age, but I spend more time with this console than my PS5 which is gathering dust in the corner and shooting me dirty looks. Name the game and share your experiences and memories from the glorious PS3 age. Times that were, perhaps, just a little more fun.

I know it's probably.... what's the expression? hmm... it'll come to me...oh yeah *FUCKING STUPID* to give these snake oil salesmen another shot, but they've got some incredible sales going on right now and I've fallen in like with a new bedframe with storage drawers and LED lights and all that stuff and it's a steal plus free shipping. I've gotta cough up eighty bucks for professional assembly and haul away, but as I settle into my new mattress perhaps it'll all be worth it. They've got some great TV stands, entertainment centers whatever with shelves and glass doors and more LED lights and some have fireplaces to boot. Opinions?
