Had a fucking mini heart attack today

Bro, I was working in pharmacy today, and our SM was counting drawers and one of the pharmacy drawers that I only did cash one ONCE was $25 over. I remembered the transaction vividly because the guy gave me $100 and I counted out $80 in change. I FUCKING REMEMBER COUNTING IT. I even remember giving three 20s and two 10s. But, there was also some coins, and the way I do it, is I give them their coins, then count out the paper bills and give it to them.

So, on the camera, SM saw me giving the coins, but my body was covering up me counting the bills, so, it looked like I was giving him all the money when handing him the coins and you couldn't see me counting the bills.

So, I get called to the office (she was doing drawers before we closed because she had to leave when we closed but she also had to train someone to close that night), and THE FUCKING BINDER WAS OPEN. Pen out, she was FUCKING READY to write me up. I had to point to the moment I was counting, I had to plead my case for a solid 5 minutes, I was BEGGING her to believe me.

Luckily, pharmacist on duty vouched for me, not to mention I haven't made a cash error in years. But, JESUS CHRIST, on the cameras it looked like I didn't count it, she could've confidently written me up and I wouldn't have been able to do anything about it. The Lord was on my side today.

My coworker tried to gaslight me...

So, I've been working pharmacy, and the last shift I worked up front was Thursday. I came in today, and before I started my pharmacy shift, I went to buy some pads. One of my coworkers was in the aisle and asked me if I even tried to work on BOH on Thursday. Thursday, my job was to set up an endcap, pull stock for grocery, and then put up clearance tags. She even wrote a list, which is unfortunately gone now. She never said anything about BOH and there was nothing on that list about BOH. (And the BOH was for OTC so the pulling stock for grocery bit was not what she was talking about). I kept saying I was never told to do BOH at any point throughout the week. She said she was annoyed because our SM yelled at her because it didn't get done. She let me go start my shift but the whole time I was like, "did this b***h just tell our SM that I was the reason BOH didn't get done!?" I haven't seen our SM yet so hopefully I don't get yelled at for the BOH I was never told to do. Like, are we really this stupid? It's one things to tell someone else a lie, but to try and convince me to change my own perception of reality to screw myself over with our SM. Really? I'm not stupid, I wasn't told to do BOH, this isn't a toxic relationship, you seriously don't think you are gonna successfully gaslight me. And, it was funny, because on Friday while I was in pharmacy, I saw another manager doing BOH for that section, and he was complaining that he had to do it instead of my coworker.

Did distribution center forget a pallet if it isn't on the manifest but it is in our BOH?

We just got our truck, and I have two late Pick N Pack orders because our BOH says we have like 8 of something that we don't have at all. And its not just one product, its multiple. So, if the items weren't in the manifest does that mean its a problem on our end, or is it possible they forgot a pallete? Because that happened to us last truck, but I don't remember our BOH being off last time

I hate essays!!!

Not for the reason you would think. It's college, you're gonna write a million essays, I don’t have a problem with that. What I have a problem with is that I never get graded the way I expect. When I think it sucks, I get an A, when I think I did really well, I get a C. No joke, last year, for an English course, we had 3 book essays. The first one, I read the book the night before and got an A, second one was on a play that I forgot about and spark noted last minute, and I got an A, last one, I actually followed along read it when I was supposed to, took notes, and.... I got a B-.

Or, there was the time I wrote a last minute essay and decided to bite the bullet and submit it a page short because I was just done with it, and I got a higher score on that one than the one I submitted with actual effort put into it. Maybe this is a sign to quit trying, idk.

At least I'm not using AI I guess.

Why does the world let old people be stupid?

I'm tired of doing basic tasks for people that they could easily learn themselves. Like the photo kiosk, I shouldn’t have to stand there and look for photos on YOUR phone and type YOUR name and YOUR phone number for you, a cave man could do that.

Or self-checkout, press "finish and pay" when it says "press finish and pay", press "credit/debit" when you're paying with a debit or credit card, enter your pin when it asks you to, its not rocket science.

Or OTC catalogs, match the numbers in the book to the numbers on the blue tag, it takes 5 seconds.

I mean seriously, how the hell are you capable of reading a paper map, but can't read and follow basic instructions. I honestly think it's on purpose at this point, because why tf can't you just learn how to do it? Its not like I'm asking you to study for the ACTs.

There should be a rule that everyone over 60 that isn't willing to pull their head out of their ass for basic technology should be required to have a personal assistant following them around everywhere, because I'm not getting paid enough to be doing that for someone for 15+ minutes when I've got other shit to do.

Saying, "Oh, im old fashioned I dont like all the technology stuff" doesn't give you a free pass to waste everyone's time.

EDIT: I am not referring to people with mental or visual impairments, I am aware that as some people age, their physical and mental well-being may decline. I can tell the difference between those who actually need my help and those who want me to help them because they don't feel like doing it themselves. I am a great worker and my customers love me because I often accommodate when I need to, I've gone as far as loading someones shopping into their car, so don't go there with me.

How did they know Voldemort was gone?

Forgive me if there is an obvious answer, I haven't read the books in a while, but as far as I know, Snape, Hagrid, and Sirius walked into Godric's Hollow to see James and Lily dead, and Harry alive with a scar on his forehead, and Voldemort was no where to be seen.

My question is, even though the circumstances were really weird because obviously Voldemort wouldn't just leave without killing Harry, how did the wizarding world come to the conclusion that he was gone? What was the evidence behind that? No one saw him die.

Like, it was literally just a day after when all the wizards were celebrating, what event happened that concluded he was gone, so much so that everyone knew about it in less than 24 hours? How was a baby with a scar proof that he was dead? Obviously, barely anyone knew about the horcruxes, Dumbledore didn't even know yet, and this wasn't a situation that anyone had ever seen before. So what qualified wizarding official listened to Dumbledore's story and just said, "baby, dead parents, scar... yep, that checks out... VOLDEMORT'S DEAD EVERYBODY!!" If there's an actual answer please tell me.

Just got written up for following policy...

So... there was a cup on our clearance endcap and it wasn't just one, it was a whole bunch of cups. They were in front of a clearance tag that said "cup" on it, but it was just the wrong cup. Idk how the cups got over there, but anyway, following CVS policy, I honored the price for a customer (they were only buying one) and then moved the rest of the cups to the correct spot. Fuck, that isn't even just policy, its in the compliance lessons that I just did 2 days ago. It wasn't like a shit ton of money lost either, like 8 dollars. Thats just fucked up. Especially because I like never price modify anything. I tried to argue because the report said I didn't go back and check, but I fucking did, but SMIT only brought it up after SM left so she couldn'tdo anything about it. SM should have brought it up while she was there earlier, instead she fucking left and had someone else do it. Debating calling someone to dispute it.

Workplace relationships

I still don't understand why they made Holly leave because she was dating Michael. Because Pam and Jim were together, no problem, which has potential to be conflict of interest because as Phyllis said, Pam was in charge of assigning new clients to salespeople. And, when Jim got promoted to Co-manager, he became Pam's boss, but there relationship was still allowed.

Andy was the regional manager, the highest ranking role in the office, while Erin was the receptionist, which is arguably the lowest ranking role in the office, but despite the huge hierarchy difference, and the fact that Andy was also Erin's boss, they were still allowed to be together. Not to mention, Erin also dated Gabe, who was basically HR, but instead of reporting to corporate, he reported to Sabre to make sure things were going smoothly, and yet, they were also still allowed to be together despite his authority position over her.

Also, for a short period of time after Jim left for Stanford, Ryan was a sales rep and also dating Kelly at the same time, and Kelly is a customer service rep who has control over customer complaints towards salespeople, including Ryan, and, as seen in the episode where she wrote false bad reviews about Jim and Dwight, she has control over what feedback the manager sees, which is also a conflict of interest. Yet, they had no issues being together.

But, whenever Michael and Holly were together, suddenly it was a huge deal and they had to send her all the way to New Hampshire.

Am I allowed to put extra pads/tampons in the bathroom?

Like, out of my own pocket, not from the store. I am just so tired of seeing women come in and have to buy a whole box of tampons or pads just because there period started in public. Do you think corporate would be against me putting a little menstruation tray in the bathroom?

Just got mine out

So, I had it in for 2 years, and I stopped getting my period which is what I originally wanted, but I decided that I wanted my period back because I'd rather have a consistent cycle and know where I am hormonally rather than spotting randomly and not knowing why I'm feeling a certain way.

Anyway, this had not occurred to me while I had it in, but I have had some really bad luck with my bowels. I attributed it to having a bad diet and needing some more fiber and probiotics, because I had just entered adulthood and figured that eating whatever I want wasn't gonna slide anymore. Still, I've just had terrible bowl trouble whether it be constipation or diarrhea, I rarely had a normal bowel movement anymore. Cut to 2 years later, I get my nexplanon out, and I've started having totally normal bowels. And I have been so confused and the only thing I can contribute it to is having my birth control removed which is crazy. Like, my digestive system has been suffering these last couple of years and I FINALLY have an answer.

Don't take this as genuine medical advice, I have not spoken to any doctor about this, this is only my assumption, I am not officially saying Nexplanon can cause a bad gut for everyone, I'm just saying that the time slots are matching up for me, so I'm content making this assumption about my own health.

WE KNOW YOU'RE STEALING

Baby, I know it the second you walk through the door. Even if I'm not looking at you, talking to you, or even near you, I know.

We retail employees know what to look for, you're not as sneaky as you think. Stopping you is just against policy. But that doesn't mean we're not paying attention.

Keep that in mind when you walk into another store that isn't afraid to bust your ass. That's right. You could be being followed around right now by a detective waiting to arrest you, that's not an exaggeration, that's shit that has happened, and every single one of those shoplifting mfs in jail right now thought they was getting away with it just like you do.

So watch yourself, dummy.

Is this bad?

So, I got a scam call earlier and at first the guy says hes a tech, so I immediately assumed it was gonna be a photo issue, because we're always having photo problems, either from us or a customer. So he asks my name and if I'm the manager and then I tell him, still not realizing it's gonna be a scam. Then he starts saying some random shit about the registers so I hang up. I told our SM and she got a little mad that I gave them my name. Only my first name. Is that bad for like the store? Did I fuck up? First names are like public info right?

Scammers

Scammers are stupid because they really do be playing with my feelings when I have to hang up. I got that thought in the back of my head that I just done hung up on a random dude meaning no harm. Even though I know it's not true but my brain doesn't care. Thanks a lot, guys! Now I'm gonna feel bad the rest of the day! >:(

This has been eating away at me

So, when you see someone die you see Thestrals. So, would someone who saw someone die and then got obliviated, still see them? Like, you technically saw it, but your brain doesn't remember seeing it and your brain is what sees things so its basically like you never saw it even though you saw it. So does it or does it not count?

What would you guys consider "having an attitude" towards management?

A lot of times my SM and the SMIT say it as a joke, but sometimes they say it seriously, and I really don't understand. Like, how we all have to check every message on Zipline and even though I check every single thing, SM will text me and say I missed one, so I sent her a text saying, "okay, I'll check when I get there today, but I've been checking everything and i don't know why it keeps flagging me", and she considered that talking back.

And both of them always joke that I'm the employee with the most attitude, but I swear to god I'm acting like a normal person. Like, I'm 100% respectful. I wonder if it's because I speak my mind more, not like about other coworkers, but about CVS in general, but its normally little things like, "I wish they didn't put all these planograms in the same week" or "I hate how we don't get sick days or anything, i wish they would hire more people". Idk, stuff like that.

I know sometimes i talk shit behind peoples back, but not like real shit, just work shit. And all of my coworkers do that, not just me. Its weird. At first I thought it was because i was one of the only teenagers, but im 20 now and we've got a ton of new hires that are teens, and I don’t hear anything about them. Its just me.

I am a particularly loud person and my SM is in her 60s and SMIT is almost 30, so I wonder if its just because Im not only younger but i kind of act younger. But still, not immature attitude younger, like im bubbly and I joke around a little bit.

And it's not a matter of, im too loud, I don't think because my other coworkers like me, and no it's not just the teens, there are other ones my age that like me. And the other ones my age don't get called out for having an attitude so idk.

And, normally I wouldn't care if it was just jokes, but sometimes its like serious. Like one of my coworkers will say, "hey, so and so is saying you were being a little snippy yesterday" or something like that, that is serious. But I swear to god im not snippy. Sometimes they like to say I "talk back" but never in a like a heated argument type of way, but like a, I dont agree with you let's talk about it way. And even then, it's still like a light hearted joking conversation.

Like, im not snippy or disrespectful, I guess im biased because im talking about myself, but still. Ive been here almost 3 years now, like, am I really that bad?

Im not sure if this is really a question post or me just venting, but its whatever, comment what you would like.

New thing to watch out for

So... i was changing the front trash cans and a mouse crawled up my arm and almost into my shirt. All while my coworker was standing there laughing at me. Didn't know that was a thing that could happen, so now I know to look out for mice. You guys probably should too.

I'm struggling with feeling empathetic for people who don't deserve it.

The main person I am struggling with is my older sister. She is kind of a loser and a total jerk and every negative thing that happens to her is just a consequences to her irresponsible actions. She doesn't save her money, so much so that my parents have had to make her last few car insurance payments, yet she still finds the time to pay for concerts, new clothes, and video games. She doesn't clean up after herself, she stays up really late and is extremely loud, but gets mad when I tell her to keep it down. When we ever confront her about this stuff, she tells us she's really depressed and she wants to kill herself, but then again, shes 23, and as much as depression sucks, she needs to see a doctor and do something about it instead of making us all clean up after her, if what she claims is even true, because i have my doubts. She is self diagnosed with autism and uses that as an excuse as well. She lies about having an eating disorder, constantly telling me she goes days without eating, despite her eating everytime I see her, and once again, even if that were true, she is a grown adult and only she can do something about it. She is unapologetically rude whenever we ask her to do things and she overall just sucks.

And when I yell at her, she brings up my mental illness (bipolar II) and asks if I've stopped taking my meds, accuses me of lying to my therapist, tells me she knows other people with BD that aren't rude to her, etc. You know, right to the jugular.

And, you'd think someone who does something like this wouldn't get any sympathy from anyone, but here I am. AND I HATE IT. I have cleaned up after her multiple times after my mom has yelled at her because she just gets this look on her face and I like feel it in my soul. Idk if it's me actually feeling bad for her or me just trying to eliminate the problem in general, but I HATE that I do that. I shouldn’t be doing things for a narcissist, I shouldn’t knock on her door every once in a while to make sure she's still alive and not actually suicidal, I shouldn’t make her food when she seems upset. I just SHOULDN’T. But I do anyway.

And it’s like torture. Feeling bad for someone who deserves it. This is the same for any coworkers I dont like, toxic friends, and even my parents sometimes. Why am I not capable of being satisfied when people face the consequences of their actions???

Am I the only one that is sure to lable each package, triple check that I put the correct item into each one, and make absolutely sure that I give the post office the correct QR code for each package, yet I still sit here paranoid that I sent people the wrong stuff? Like, i did every little thing to make sure I didn't why am I thinking like this??? Lollll
