Is it possible to port custom environments from the Virtual Desktop Classic steam workshop into the Quest 3 version of Virtual Desktop?

I would love to be able to use some of the fantastic custom theater environments that were made for Virtual Desktop Classic on my Quest 3. I don't understand why it's not an option. Is there any way to mod them in, or sideload it or something?

Is it maybe possible to connect Virtual Desktop Classic to the Virtual Desktop Streamer app and use that to project the custom environment into my Quest 3? This is my first time using a Quest 3 so sorry if this is a dumb question. I don't exactly know what to ask.

What is the best way to watch Plex in my Quest 3?

I tried playing Plex on my PC then streaming my PC to Virtual Desktop, and the picture looks good but I'm wondering if there's a more direct method. Is there any way to stream Plex natively into my Quest 3 or will I have to watch my movies locally on my PC, then stream my PC to my Quest?

How many of you guys know about DaPu's unreleased live album The Heroes from 2001?

It was recorded at The Fabric Club on December 17th 2001. Promo cds were sent out by virgin records but it was never released. I think it's better than Daftendirektour 1997 and maybe better than Alive 2007. It's also a perfect quality recording direct from the table so it's actually higher audio quality than Daftendirektour and Alive. Lowkey the house-est album in their whole discography.

It's available on the internet archive but it's one long audio file so you'll have to split it up yourself https://archive.org/details/daft-punk-dj-mix

I've always thought it would have been cool if each of the Scream sequels used a different variation of the Ghostface mask so these are my headcanons

https://preview.redd.it/qt475ba5y8ih1.png?width=1620&format=png&auto=webp&s=9d00c830d2d886354d9f43120cfd2422fcdfd182

I always thought it was an odd plot hole that in the Scream universe they kept making and selling the Ghostface mask after the Woodsboro Killings. And it's especially weird since the mask kept getting used by new copy cat killers. The general public's reaction to the killings is a big part of every movie so I think it's odd that they never address the ethics of continuing to sell the mask.

I think it would have been funny if they discontinued the original Ghostface mask after the events of the first movie, and so the next killer had to buy one of the alternate variations from the same company. And then once they go on their killing spree, that mask is discontinued as well. And then it just keeps going. It fills a plot hole, and it would have allowed them to show off the cool variants that have never been shown in the movies.

I organized all the eps, singles, and unreleased songs into full length albums for my music library

I didn't want to stream the unofficial bootlegs so I downloaded everything and organized it all into big albums based on the eras and recording sessions. I also edited some of the covers.

I tried to make them accurate to what each album was meant to be, but I was mostly doing it just for the sake of organization in my personal music library. I'm no professional Ayesha historian so I might have made some mistakes here and there. I just thought I'd share because it's funny to look at, like it's from an alternate timeline.

This might be a dumb question, how can I get translated subtitles for a movie that has never been translated?

My plan was to use the auto transcribing feature in Davinci Resolve to create rough Japanese subtitles and then running the transcription through google translate to create something that’s better than nothing. The problem is that the software will work fine up until it suddenly freaks out and starts generating looping phrases and then it never recovers.

So I’m here to ask, what other options do I have?

Holy shit this new Charli xcx album is awful

I love Charli, I’ve been a fan of her for years and years. I love all her weirder experimental music and unreleased stuff but that was dreadful. Just painful the entire way through. I get that it’s an intentional diversion from her normal sound, but it’s just a slog. I’m never going to listen to this album again.

I made an alternate cover for Foundations of Decay to match the branding of the SWARM tour

I happened to stumble upon the exact fly vector graphic that they used on the merch so I made this

I reorganized MCRX and the Black Parade B sides into a stand alone album and it’s really weird to hear a full album from an alternate timeline

I’m definitely not the first person to notice this but Gerard’s persona for the Long Live tour has got to be influenced by the dictator in Pink Floyd’s The Wall

In The Wall, Pink (that’s his name) slips further and further away from reality into a delusion where he’s a fascist leader of some kind. In Long Live, Gerard’s character is a good guy so I don’t think there’s any significance to this, story-wise. It’s just yet another of MCR’s many homages to their influences. I’ve always thought that The Wall sounded like an MCR album.

I hope that they can make a movie for an album like that someday.

Seeing End of Evangelion in theaters for the first time has made me finally realize…

This movie is short as hell lol. I usually watch Episodes 25 and 26 before rewatching EoE.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners - Grimes "4AEM" Fan Edit Opening Credits

This is a custom opening credits sequence I made for Cyberpunk Edgerunners using the song 4ÆM by Grimes. I created it using parts from the many amazing trailers and cinematics for the game.

What *is* Scarecrow’s mask in Arkham Knight? Is it his face or a mask?

I never understood. Has there ever been any art showing what his face looks like underneath? How much of it is a mask and how much is a facial reconstruction?

Is there anywhere to watch Joe Dante’s 3 hour Gremlins Rough Cut?

There was a bunch of press when this was revealed, and it didn’t seem like there would be anything preventing it from releasing, but there hasn’t been any news since then. Was it released quietly online or something? Was there ever a fan edit to reconstruct the 3 hour cut?

Today, July 9th, officially marks 15 years since Smiling Friends went off the air

On this day 15 years ago the legendary Smiling Friends ended its original run on television. After 29 seasons, 3 theatrical films, 12 original novels, 2 good video games, 1 bad video game, and a live stage adaptation, the industry juggernaut Smiling Friends was brought to an abrupt and tragic conclusion. Although the multigenerational series had no plans to end anytime soon, the tragic loss of one half of the creative team, left the series in a tailspin that resulted in a swift and sorrowful end to the original series.

We all remember where we were when it was announced on news stations across the solar systems that Joshua Hadel-O'Neill had gone missing. After a seemingly standard meeting with his parole officer, Joshua disappeared somewhere along Mulholland Drive on that hot rainy night of December 23rd. He was last seen eating an extremely large burger at a small diner in Beverly Hills, before he was seen climbing into his beloved vintage Subaru Outback and driving off into the darkness, never to be seen again.

Because no body was found after Joshua Hadel-O'Neill’s disappearance, some super fans held out hope that Hadel-O'Neill was planning a surprise return. But sadly most of those theorized “returning day” dates resulted in little more than broken hearts and a few cases of man-slaughter.

Joshua Hadel-O'Neill was the great-grandson of the late yarn industry mogul and Smiling Friends creator, Sir Zach Hadel D.D.S., and alongside Michael Cusack the 7th, served as the successors to the Smiling Friends dynasty that had been established so long ago on that fateful April Fools Day 2020.

Of course, it wouldn’t be until years later that the full global impact of that spring 2020 premier would be fully realized. And although the loss of life was extreme, the series creators, Zach Hadel, who worked as a let’s-play YouTube content creator, and Michael Cusack, drawer, would never have been able to anticipate the toll that their cartoon show would have on the world’s helium supply.

Hadel-O'Neill’s untimely departure from the series left Cusack the 7th with the herculean task of leading the franchise forward all on his own. Season 29 had ended with a cliffhanger, teasing the long awaited return of the series’ first antagonist, Glep. Fans had spent years theorizing what had happened to Glep since his last canonical appearance in the audiobook “Glep’s Finest Hour”, the epic finale to the Glep trilogy. But since Michael Cusack the 7th didn’t have Joshua Hadel-O'Neill to help complete the story, he decided to cancel production of the 30th season before it began.

With the original series over, Cusack the 7th then began work on a follow up in the form of a “Boruto Shippuden” style sequel. This effort started with the release of the revival miniseries titled “Pim and Charlie’s Smiling Services” but it’s run was unfortunately also cut short when budget constraints resulted in the finale of its first and only season never being completed. The eight finished episodes were released on Newgrounds+ and the unfinished finale known under the working title “Mr Boss Goes To The Real World” would remain in the vault. A few years after the Newgrounds+ release, an unfinished assembly cut of “Mr Boss Goes To The Real Word” found its way onto the interwebs, and was available as a neuro-net download for those that knew how to acquire it. For years the incomplete finale captivated fans, and although around 200 pages of script were missing from that assembly cut, it’s leak was enough to help keep the fandom alive. Many Smiling-Cons in the following years featured live reenactments of the missing scenes, performed by lifelong fans reading from the original screenplay.

When “Mr Boss Goes To The Real World” was cancelled, Michael Cusack The 7th decided that it was best to end it here and sold the rights to The Tomar Company. While clearing an old Smiling Friends warehouses in Rancho Cucamonga, the Tomar Company discovered the original master tapes for the movie, and the 7 hour epic was finally able to be enjoyed in its entirety. Though it has some unfinished effects and placeholder music tracks, it still stands as an incredible technical achievement in the art of 3d animated pornography.

When The Tomar Company released the 7 hour version of the film on the 50 disc special edition boxset, it caused a brief but noticeable hiccup in the national economy, as millions of Americans skipped work on the day of release to watch the long lost finale.

Now today, July 9th at 2:30 am, it will mark 15 freaking years since the last new episode of Smiling Friends aired on television. A frankly, in the intervening 15 years, global nuclear war has unfortunately left very little to smile about. The previously mentioned revival miniseries “Pim and Charlie’s Smiling Services” has still never seen any remaster or physical release. It can still only be viewed on Newgrounds+ or as a bonus feature on the original HD-DVD release of Smiling Friends 2 for the PlayStation 9. The X-Box Two release of Smiling Friends 2 never included it due to console’s lack of support for HD-DVD. It’s a real shame. I understand that “Smiling Services“ was obviously a downer compared to the original series, and the 30 minute silent candlelight vigil for Joshua Hadel-O'Neill at the end of each episode was a bit much, but it’s something very unique that stands alone when compared to all the other Smiling Universe spin offs.
