Does the Daryl spinoff get better?

I’m finally starting it, I’m on episode 4 and it’s not like I hate it but I’m kinda struggling through it. It just doesn’t have the same vibe as TWD or Fear

I know >!from promo pics Carol comes on eventually!< but does it get good before then?

No spoilers please!!

What do you do when it hits you at night?

Have you found anything that helps when it keeps you up at night or when it wakes you up in the middle of the night?

I’ve been struggling a lot with intrusive thoughts and memories about my SAs and abuse when the day is over and it’s dark and everything’s quiet and I’m supposed to fall asleep. And when I wake up from nightmares or dreams in the middle of the night it’s hard to come back, never mind try to relax for falling back asleep. Sometimes I’m just up for the rest of the night and sometimes I cry myself out or lay there until my body eventually gets so exhausted and I fall asleep.

Did Dean manipulate Rory?

Hear me out. She was led to believe his marriage was over and was kinda under the impression that he already talked to Lindsay.
In the bedroom when he first says it’s not working, she asks multiple times if he’s sure and even suggests counseling. Then he says:
Dean: “It’s over. We both feel it. I know, we both feel it.”
Rory: “You and Lindsay?”
Dean: “Yeah. Me and Lindsay.”
Rory: “You both feel it’s over.”
So she does ask for confirmation twice and it’s possible that in her mind what he said = we agreed we’re getting a divorce.

She definitely could’ve asked more questions to make 100% sure Dean and Lindsay actually talked about this but what Dean’s saying makes it seem like it was mutual and she trusts him to tell the truth.

I’m not saying she’s innocent in this or that she shouldn’t have said to wait until the divorce is final or something like that but I don’t think Dean gets enough heat from the fandom for this. He’s the only one w 100% knowledge of the situation. He knew he was still married, he knew he didn’t talk to Lindsay, he knew Lindsay never said she felt it was over, he knew he wasn’t being entirely honest w Rory.

Disclaimer: I’m only talking about them sleeping together in this little psychoanalysis. The emotional affair is something Rory was involved in w mainly full knowledge and I don’t think she was manipulated with that (I’m open to other insights tho). And Rory’s “He’s my Dean” is not what I’m talking about, I have no defense for her acting like she did the right thing bc that’s just 🥴

Mom not getting Nana cake flavor she wants for her 90th bday party bc of my sister

She’s not getting the flavor she thinks my Nana would prefer bc my 27 yo older sis doesn’t like choc cake. So she’s getting vanilla cake w strawberry alcohol filling. I’m sober (don’t think that should control the cake flavor, just annoying that what sis likes does).

She’s pretending this is so there can be a cake “everyone will like” but the truth is pretty obvious. There will be 10 fam members, none of them have a problem with choc cake other than sis and most importantly it’s my Nana’s bday and she likes choc cake.

Also this post is more about my Nana not getting what she wants, but every bday I had living at my parents I had to have vanilla cakes when I asked for something else. And my sis got presents on my bday until she was like 12 so there’s a pattern of other ppl’s bdays being about her

Too small?

My sister’s suede 38 Bostons fit me but I think these oiled leathers are too small? Toes don’t touch end & feels comfy enough walking but not much room at heels.
I read oiled leather ones feel more snug once broken in which seems like a prob w this fit?

Advice needed for how to cope with getting an echocardiogram as someone with a history of SA

Idk how to make an echo (the ultrasound kind not the stickers) more manageable. I’m in my early 20s but having probs with my heart, this’ll be my 2nd echo & last time was so triggering. Acknowledging that I knew I’d be exposed to an extent, I tried to communicate I have trauma & need to be covered as much as possible but there was a language barrier & the tech didn’t understand what I was saying & thought I was refusing to get it done. After we cleared that part up, the tech didn’t do what my cardiologist told me was their procedure (towels covering my chest and/or strategic draping of hospital gown to minimize exposure >! my paper gown/top got completely opened and I wasn’t covered from waist up at all !< ) and the process was really triggering for me beyond what I expected.

I’m getting really anxious thinking about this apt & feeling like I don’t have any control. It’ll probably be the same tech bc the cardio practice is small & I haven’t seen any other techs around the office at any of my other apts which doesn’t help w the whole “no control” thing.

Sister watches videos at full phone volume shared spaces

I (24) live w my sister (27) and she has a habit of listening to stories/watching videos on her phone at full volume no matter what people in that space are doing. You can be writing an important email, talking on the phone to a fam member, working, just chilling trying to read, anything, and she doesn’t care.

I’ve talked to her about this and she refuses to stop.

I have an intake/consult with a new prescriber tomorrow & I’m pretty anxious.

I’ve seen the same psychiatrist since I was 16 (started seeing him pre my diagnosis at 22, now I’m 24) & I’m aging out of his practice. Idk how to “shop around” for a psychiatrist/prescribing nurse. I had a consult w someone a few months ago & knew immediately she wasn’t a match bc of how she viewed/talked about neurodivergence.

So I know what an obviously bad fit is but idk how I’ll know if this new prescriber is a good fit for me and if she’s knowledgeable enough about different neurotypes to be able to help me.

Are there specific questions you ask or red flags you watched for when figuring out who would work well for you?

I want to get this ring sized up for my mom as a surprise but idk if it can/should be done. It was her grandmother’s, size 5.5 and my mom wears a 9. It’s sterling silver, probably from the 1920s if my math is right. The rectangular(ish) stones are obviously missing so I’d have to get those replaced assuming that can be done.

I read that rings shouldn’t be sized up more than 2 sizes and I obviously don’t want to ruin a family heirloom. Or have a jeweler just say they can do it so they get a customer and it ends up deformed.

Could use some advice!
