Is there guilt in no contact?

Considering Autism is not a choice and there may literally be a severe lack of understanding and intelligence when it comes to the ways they’ve impacted their children? Is there guilt going no contact know they’re being taken advantage of and are being left vulnerable?

Question I have as I consider no contact.

I’m feeling so much rage

I’ve just had my privacy violated which is a huge trigger for me, there is absolutely nobody in my life that I can trust right now and nobody I can reach out too. This level of rage always reminds me that I do indeed have BPD. There was a time I used smash mirrors and yell at strangers with this level of rage but all I can do is sit on this bed and cry angrily. I’m just never going to be normal.

Do you experience social paranoia/anxiety?

Like you are constantly analysing what people are saying to you on social settings or even in public and feel paranoid or anxious that it could have a double meaning that you didn’t pick up on and that person actually doesn’t like you or wanted you to do something you didn’t do etc.

And if so, how did you get over it? (If you did because I’m currently isolating any/all social situations)

Mucus in throat mystery?

But my nose is clear and nothing comes out when I use saline nasal spray?
Top of my nose is congested and there’s facial pressure and headaches and body aches
But my nose is empty??
And it feels like there’s mucus stuck at the top of my throat but I can’t cough it out?
I’ve tried salt gargles but it doesn’t work

3/4 days of this
However have been unwell for a month now (Dr says post viral fatigue because of irritated tonsil but I’m starting to think that’s bs)

How to get over an old rumour? (Prostitution)

A decade ago when I was literally an adult teenager, my mom was frustrated at me that I spent times away from home and was drinking/smoking etc. Her response to that was to tell my entire extended family that she thought I was sleeping around.

So then this massive rumour went around that I was a prostitute and then everyone (all my cousins that I grew up with) were told they should stay away from me. Now I didn’t know this at the time. A few years later I moved out and started living my own life, a few years ago I’d occasionally drop into the yearly family event or be polite etc. People have been super distant with me since I came back and I just assumed it was because I’d been away for a few years.

Anyway one of my cousins, the only cousin I speak to tbh told me I wasn’t invited to a certain gathering recently (this has happened before) and I was just like yeah I mean I’m not surprised. And she was like well I just don’t think that’s fair why would they do that etc, and then we went into this whole deep dive where she told me about the rumours etc and how it changed how people saw me etc. And I was just like yeah I mean we both know that’s not true but whatever.

But I just still can’t get it out of my head, it’s just been replaying in my mind that my whole family including my own dad btw (this was moms side of the family that did this), believed that rumour at the time for years and some probably still do. I’m trying not to care but it’s the type of rumour that feels so violating. Uncle and aunties and cousins discussing my body essentially being sold or passed around, like it’s disgusting to be thought of that way knowing it’s not true. It makes me never want to turn up to another family gathering again despite this happening a decade ago because it obviously had long term effects if I’m still not being invited places (the only cousin btw and there’s like 15 of us).

The crazy thing is other cousins have drunk/smoked/dressed certain ways/gone out/even moved out with bfs and NONE of them get the type of treatment I got back then, they still get invited, they still get treated like a human being. But yeah. How do I get over this?

Summer relapse

I feel I have regressed in my BPD recovery this Summer which is strange because I’ve been fine for like 3 years straight. Maybe relapse/regression is a strong word for it but I just feel so depressed and I’m not sleeping at all.

I’ve been isolating a lot, I’ve been having a lot of family contact, I just feel so sad and alone. I’m a little out of a routine and not been doing much that gives me purpose and honestly it’s the first time I’ve felt this sad and alone with my thoughts in a while. It’s been 2 months of this. I barely have any friends to hang out with. I’m too socially anxious to do anything on my own. I’m in my head a LOT. I haven’t been sleeping. I’ve felt a little unwell for like a month now (dr says give it another month and rest loads). Someone rehashed some triggering things today that happened like a decade ago and yeah I just feel disappointed and sad. So sad. And alone. Very alone.

I want to get back on track but there’s an empty hole in my heart telling me it’s always going to be this way. That’s the price of being human.

Could social security be a gateway to the free market in the UK?

\- Thatcher created systems that relied on decreasing social security (housing, welfare, education, childcare) reliance
\- She did it under the guise of “people need to pull themselves up” and here are some ways that you can do that
\- The problem comes with the solution she offered was giving people who did rely on social security a way to join the free market which in theory was a good thing
\- The consequences of this is that by allowing people to take and sell social housing and become property owners for example, it significantly decreased the amount of social housing there was and this meant less social housing overall

\- Less social housing means people with more obstacles/disadvantages were unable to join the free market whilst social security was still a high need and we are seeing the ramifications of that now
\- Less social housing means the government is relying on private landlords and private companies to house their people, a basic right has been commercialised for everyone instead of people who could afford it
\- The free market then essentially benefits from homelessness and prices continue to rise and more government money goes into maintaining this
\- Less money is spent on education, healthcare and childcare, all foundations that enable people to get to a point of financial freedom in the first place and join the free market

\- With there being systems that promote either entire reliance on government or struggling to stay above water with most of their income going toward rent without salary raises or proper opportunity to create new businesses for the economy, we are stuck
\- An increase in immigration means an increased in population and more and more people needing to rely on social security that is underfunded and also does not created enough gateways to move into the free market and contribute towards the economy
\- The systems were always going to break but under pressure, we are just seeing them break even faster because the proper support isn’t actually there even for non immigrants.
\- This is a class issue because if all poor/struggling people were able to get the right social security they would be able to move into the free market and not feel stuck there I.e. Finland and Austria models

\- For the UK, Devolution is a great way to do this so it isn’t just London that has the pressure of creating these systems but they are done on a community level to centralise cities all over the UK and provide people with the opportunities they need in order to contribute towards the UK economy and this includes everyone.
\- More people able to “graduate” from social security and into the free market is an opportunity for everyone, both British people and immigrants.
\- The UK is massive and often opportunities for social security and funding are focused on major cities leaving people with no education and bills and frustrations to essentially have nothing and no way to grow and leave their situation
\- So immigration is scapegoated as a way to acknowledge that social security was always going to collapse because we are still reaping the consequences of the Thatcher administration.
\- Maybe immigration is a scapegoat to “we need better social security” because it has consistently been regarded as something “shameful” and “you aren’t working hard enough” instead of admitting you’ve left people to fend for themselves without the resources YOU were privileged to get growing up
\- Immigration just pulls the curtains down faster but in essence this means hopefully solutions have to be produced faster too?

\- I love that Andy Burnham has actually governed a northern city and knows what it takes to build and hopefully create these opportunities
\- It won’t be fixed over night but this is how I think we should be moving forward as a country

Have I missed anything? Is this the way forward?

How to stop caring what other people think?

Mainly in public. Mainly to combat social anxiety. Mainly fighting embarrassment.

What do you tell yourself?

Sometimes the floating rock thing helps but yeah stuff like that

Please don’t write “just don’t” lol

How to overcome mice fear?

Tonight I saw a mouse in my studio in the under fridge area multiple times. It kept coming out to stare me down, it was feeling REALLY brave apparently. This is not the first time I’ve seen something like this in a city apartment. It’s a studio too so it’s not like I can just shut the door.

I’m at a friend’s now and have contacted pest control/landlord but I really want to get rid of this intense phobia I have, I am literally in tears.

Any type 4 ENFPs?

I’m a type 4 enneagram and honestly I find it so interesting because I feel like there’s supposed to be a certain “darkness” to type 4’s which don’t really seem aligned with ENFP traits, so I was just wondering what the type 4 ENFPs thought and major differences or traits that you notice etc.

I just learnt about my type 4 lol

What outcomes are considered likely in long term disappearances?

My brother disappeared nearly 6/7 years ago in the UK, and I still think about the uncertainty around cases like this.

I don’t want to share identifying details because it’s still technically an open investigation, but he was a very young adult who had become increasingly mistrustful and isolated before disappearing far from home.

There were no confirmed sightings afterwards, no financial trail that we know of, no documentation trail, and very little clarity overall.

I know nobody online can know an individual situation for certain, but I’m interested in hearing from people familiar with missing persons cases, homelessness, mental illness, neurodivergence, exploitation, or long term disappearances about what outcomes are generally considered most likely over time.

I’m not expecting anyone to “solve” anything. I’m genuinely okay with blunt or realistic perspectives, btw, or even just people speculating freely. I think after years of uncertainty, I’m more interested in hearing different, honest opinions rather than reassurance.

I personally think it’s just SO rude to be on your phone in a social setting but others do not feel the same way and think you must just have nobody messaging you or something 🤷‍♀️ I’m in my late 20s for context.

I think it just removes the whole point of “socialising with people” if you can’t go an hour without it. I love people who say oh sorry I just have to text this person because of this… then they’re present again.

Thoughts?

What are your thoughts?

I’ve been on medication for the last 2-3 years and it has helped me finish a degree (1 year left!) and really learn how to solidify new techniques/approaches into my daily life to make it more manageable.

Recently I’ve been weaning myself off them, mainly because I was sick but also because I felt very burnt out. I’ve been off them now for a few days and I just feel so much more like myself! The things I’ve solidified into my life have become habit enough for me to still get by but I also have my personality back!

I literally have been freaking out about having social anxiety for months and a day or 2 without the meds made me realise I’d just been overthinking all my thoughts and sometimes impulsiveness is needed to maintain a conversation lol

TLDR: What are your thoughts on meds vs no meds for ADHD (combined)?

I know some people can’t function without them and they do literally save lives which I appreciate and have experienced but what about the life of it all and how magic can happen in the impulse and creativity that some meds suppress, but is the price worth it?

Has anyone done it? What’s your experience?

I’m currently on Elvanse 30mg and I have a booster in the afternoons too, it’s been really helping me focus the last 2 years when it comes to my diploma and getting through work. However I’ve noticed it’s taken away my personality, my spark and my capability to spontaneously contribute to a conversation in a timely manner lol plus I’m still always fucking late!

I’m thinking of coming off in the Summer when I don’t have as much responsibilities to test it out. But long term I’m thinking of maybe just using it part time and I wanted to hear others experiences !
