CC2 issues - before buying

Hi, I'm planning to buy a CC2...
I started being disappointed for the missing webserver, then considered I could always just use the Linux software even if it's in beta status...

Then I noticed it seems quite complex to get spare parts here in Italy, while for example Creality parts are easily on Amazon.

Again, I've read some posts about a problem with the angled hot end cable, don't know if this is a big problem or not...

Am I just overthinking these issues?
How do you order spare parts? (I'm in Italy...)

Creality K2 or Elegoo CC2 Combo

Shortly, I can have one of them for a similar price.

The K2 (basic one) seems more open and with better Linux support, the CC2 Combo seems having better specs, first of all multi colour, but no web server, more closed ecosystem, relies on its software that on Linux is currently not much stable ...

New K2 or not?

Hi, I already have a Ender 3 KE , and I have a "coupon" to get a new printer, I've seen a K2, would it be a good choice?

I don't "need" it, but want a good printer for mostly PLA / PETG and maybe start using ABS.

I like standard and open devices, I don't want proprietary apps or custom slicers or cloud...
I just want to generate gcode on my machine and upload it with a web interface, keeping things simple...

I was almost buying an Elegoo CC2, then started reading about no web interface, no profiles for Cura or Orca, proprietary slicer with no stable Linux version.. And changed my mind, since my current KE is much more open.

CC2 web interface and Linux support

I'm searching a new printer and I've seen the CC2 : currently I use a Creality Ender 3 V3 KE. I have a desktop PC with Cura, upload the gcode to the Creality web interface, and if I want I can root the printer to use more things.

I've seen the CC2 has no web interface, is not supported by Cura, partial Orca support, and its official software is not available for Linux.

I'm quite disappointed since this seems much more complex and less powerful than my current workflow...

Have I read something wrong, or this is the current situation of this printer?

RFID filament ?

Hi, I'm planning to buy the CC2 , I've read it uses RFID to auto detect filaments.

With my current printer, I select materials in the slicer, load the gcode and the printer just does what I've chosen.

How does it work with RFID? Can I use just generic filament and configure the slicer as I'm doing now? If I use a RFID filament, does it override the gcode?

Like, if my gcode says 240º and the RFID says filament needs 200º , what happens?

PETG infill failure

https://imgur.com/UsEmeGn

Hi, I'm printing on a Ender 3 V3 KE, eSun PETG , 245º temp, 70 hot bed, retraction 2mm , retraction speed 40% , fan speed 40% .

I experienced a similar failure some days ago, in the meanwhile I upgraded to the Unicorn hot end.

Today I had a similar failure, and noticed it happens after some layers, when the printer starts the infill, it happened both times with larger surfaces and little infill.

I printed fine other stuff both with the old nozzle and the new one...

Edit:
I thought it was infill related, but happened similarly with 100% too.

I also tried with the z offset 0.1 "less negative" , still the same problem, even with a worse clog on the nozzle.

Centauri Carbon 2 opinions?

Hi all, I want to buy a second newer printer, I currently have a Ender 3 V3 KE.

I looked at a good offer on a Neptune 4, but there were many critical opinions, so I looked at something newer.

Is the carbon 2 a good choice?

Buying a Neptune 4 today

Hi, I have the option to use a coupon to buy a Elegoo Neptune 4 , I currently own a Ender 3 V3 KE.

Neptune 4 seems to have good features and a good price, but there are many newer printers.

Opinions on this choice?

Buying a second printer?

I own a Ender 3 V3 KE, bought a couple of years ago, just upgraded to the Unicorn hot end. I don't use it for work or anything "absolutely needed" , I just print some things when I need them.

I have a "coupon" I can use to buy some things "technology related". Other things I own are quite recent, so I thought about a second printer. It's like 400 Euro, expires in June.

I've seen the Creality K2 SE or the SparkX i7 , are them good models?

Is a closed printer better only when printing abs or there are other reasons?
Maybe I could keep one printer loaded with PETG and another with PLA?

Or maybe this is just a bad idea and I'd better keep only the KE?

unicorn extruder- factory thermal paste ?

Hi, after reading some posts and asking some questions I installed my kit, arrived today.
It seemed quite straightforward, I'm testing new prints now.

Just one question: instructions didn't say to use the included thermal grease, looking at the nozzle (mounted from factory) without removing anything, there seemed to be "something gray inside".

I thought it was already mounted with thermal grease from factory, and didn't remove the nozzle to grease again.

It seems to be working at the moment.

Am I wrong?

What if you drop chemicals on a gun?

Well, sorry for the weird question, I just read a post about vinegar and rust and thought... What would be the best immediate choice if something chemical, maybe unknown, drops on a firearm? Not some drops only, something like "more than a full glass" ...

My choice, considering I'm not skilled enough to fully remove each single part on every gun I own, would be field stripping, removing everything I'm able to remove quickly, then spraying Ballistol everywhere abundantly.

Then I'd try to clean internals, or maybe contacting a gunsmith for that... But I think that adding oil everywhere would somehow "reduce risks..."

Parcheggio a bordo strada

Fluidd installation

I've read that new creality print versions integrate fluidd.
Actually, I use Cura then upload the gcode with the standard web interface.
Do I need to root the printer?

If the software can use it, does it mean that fluidd is "already there" ?

Hotend thermal grease?

I'm planning to upgrade my KE with the Unicorn hot end...
Do I need thermal grease? Where I need to apply it?

Is copper anti seize enough, or another generic product? Creality branded grease is quite expensive on Amazon Italy....
