The summary is that pre HRT trans people have some brain areas that are identical to that of cisgender counterparts. So while it can't be said 100% to assume that the parts more similar to assigned sex are related to body function and not consciousness, especially because it's been said that a lot of people say that after HRT brain scans show an even higher brain similarity to their gender identity
