What are some of your top tips for designing superhero costumes?

I am currently trying to design some superhero and supervillain costumes for my OCs, so what would be your top tips for designing them? I haven't done this before, so I would like to hear some design strategies.

Which member of Class 1-A would be the best parent?

As the title says, if the people in Class 1-A were to one day have kids, who would be the best (and worst) parents?

Hua Mulan with the Dragon Miraculous

This is the first post in my "Historical Miraculous holders" art series, where I will draw different mythological and historical figures as Miraculous holders. The first is the legendary Hua Mulan, bearing the Miraculous of Perfection (she is canonically a past holder of this BTW). Hope you like her.

What elemental powers fit the 7 heavenly virtues?

So this is kind of a long overdue follow-up post to my "7 deadly sins elemental powers for a group of characters" post. This is the same premise but with the seven heavenly virtues instead of the sins because they have already been decided (these element ideas were made by u/throwawaysailaway7 ): Wrath = Earth, Gluttony = Water, Greed = Fire, Envy = Air, Sloth = Space, Lust = Light, Pride = Spirit. So, with that out of the way, these are the remaining elements to assign: Metal, Mind, Electricity, Life, Death, Ice, Sound, Time, and Shadow. So that is all I have to say, can't wait to hear your ideas.

If Toph, Katara, or Zuko were the Avatar, what element would they struggle with most?

I thought this would be a fun question to ask. As the title says, if Katara, Toph, or Zuko were the Avatar instead of Aang, which of the four elements would they struggle the most with? Since we know that there is always one element an Avatar struggles with most, that one being the element most in opposition to their personality, like Aang with earth or Korra with air.

TTG should have been the JLU of the original show

Honestly, I really think Teen Titans Go should have been for the OG show what Justice League Unlimited was for the original JL animated show. As in, a direct sequel series (maybe set like 4 or 5 years into the future when all of them are young adults) that focuses on both the main five and expands on all the honorary titans met throughout the show (and meet some new faces like Donna Troy), because this story and the characters have so much potential that was sadly unexplored, and probably will not be explored given how dirty they are often done by DC. Like there are a ton of plotlines that would be fun to see, like Robin becoming Nightwing, Starfire's search for her brother, Raven's half brothers potentially wanting revenge, Beast Boys powers and their history, Cyborgs conflict with his dad, Jinx's backstory, Terra's current life and how she got it, Aqualad and Kid Flash's relationships with Aquaman and Flash, etc. There is so much they could have done with this kind of show, but what do you guys think of this idea?

I have a question regarding Hester and Hort in regards to the Last Ever After

How are Hansel, Gretel, Tinkerbell, and Peter Pan so old? Like genuinely, when you take Hester and Hort's ages into account, those four should not be senior citizens by the time of Book Three. Let's say by the time book 3 was taking place Hort and Hester were 16 years old, "Hansel & Gretel" took place when she was a baby, and "Peter Pan" took place when Hort was maybe six, that would put all four of them in their mid 20s to early 30s at the oldest, so unless they went to the Caves of Contempo or something they should not be that old.

What type of weapon is this?

So, as we all know, Draxum had four mystic weapons for each of the turtles (this is the one made for Donnie), and I gotta ask; what is the name of this kind of weapon? I genuinely cannot figure out what it is.

Expanding the powers of the Trix

This is the follow-up to my "expanding the powers of the Winx Club" post from two days ago, this time talking about the potential ways the spell catalogues of the Trix can be improved upon. Let's begin:

Icy - I honestly think it would be really fun for Icy to take a page out of Aisha's book and use her magic to create constructs like weapons or armour or machines made entirely of magical ice, that would be fun to see. Another thing that could be fun to see is her using ice to manipulate the temperature of an environment to sub zero temperatures. I think it could also be really dark to see her fully transforming living brings into ice statues like she did to Galatea's wings back in season 3 but to the whole body Medusa style.

Darcy - taking into account Darcy's shadow and mind based powers, it would be fun to see her manipulate how people percieve reality, by which I mean using her powers to trick someone's senses into fully believing an illusion to be reality. Another thing that would be fun is to see her creating monsters out of shadows like Tinkerbell did in World of Winx.

Stormy - it would be great to see her manipulate different kinds of weather like hailstorms and rain instead of just the generic lightning storms and hurricanes. It would also be great to see her using wind currents as a form of large-scale telekinesis. I can't really think of any other ideas for storm magic.

Those are all of my ideas for the Trix's magic, feel free to tell me your thoughts and share your ideas for how the Trix's magic can be expanded. Thanks for reading.

The powers of Spyro; reworking them for my Academy Rewrite

I am still working on the outlines for seasons 1 to 3 of my rewrite for Skylanders Academy, but in the meantime, I thought it would be fun to post about how I am going to rework Spyro's powers for the rewrite. Let's get started.

So, for this rewrite, I am keeping his dragon species as the old guardians of the Core of Light, and that led me to ask a question. Why them specifically? What is it about them that makes them the ideal protectors of the core? That made me research more into Spyro, and I found out that according to the lore, he can use any of the other elements due to him being connected with Magic (a really good idea that they never really used because he is just your standard fire breathing dragon), so I decided to play around with that idea.

Spyro's dragon species are the most unique one in the Skylands due not only to them being connected to the element of Magic, but also the power that comes with it; the ability to siphon elemental energy to grant themselves new abilities. Because of this power and their indestructible bodies, they were tasked with protecting the citadel by the very first portal master since the core itself was the ultimate combined source of elemental energy, so they would be most powerful there. This ability ,while great, does come with some downsides, primarily it leads to these dragons being far more susceptible to corrupted magic since they naturally absorb that kind of energy, and the energy they absorb is a limited stock depending on how much of it they got which can lead to intense burnout when absorbing or using too much. This leads me to Spyro, who in the episodes of rewritten season 2 "Spyromania" and "Power Surge" discovers these abilities and tries to consciously use them, which ends up with him having a severe case of burnout at the end of "Power Surge".

The reason Spyro has fire breath is because due to him growing up around Eruptor, a Skylander connected to the Fire Element, he was constantly exposed to that specific elemental energy and thus his powers absorbed that residual magic and granted him that power, and he just never realised. Other powers that the other elements grant him I have not fully figured out, but I do have some ideas: Life grants him an incredibly potent and incredibly fast healing factor, Water grants him ice breath, Light grants him invisibility, and Air grants him bio-electric attacks (essentially just emiting lightning from his body).

That's all for this post, do let me know what you think of my reconstruction of Spyro's powers and what suggestions you have for other elemental powers he could have. Have a lovely day and thanks for reading.

Which elemental power fits each deadly sin?

So, I have been trying to create a villain group based on the seven deadly sins that each wield one of 16 elemental powers, but the problem is I am severely struggling to figure out which of the 16 elements for my world's power system should be for which member. The elements listed are as follows; Metal, Mind, Fire, Earth, Electricity, Light, Life, Death, Water, Ice, Air, Space, Spirit, Sound, Time, and Shadow. Which sin & element pairings do you guys think would be best?

Expanding the powers of the Winx Club

So I have been getting back into World of Winx and noticed how creative the show got with the powers of the girls and that got my magic building brain whirring about all of the potential ways the powers of the Winx could be expanded and improved. So this will be fun (and definitely long), but without further ado, let's get started.

Bloom - regular fire magic usually doesn't have much room for creative uses, but given that the Dragon Flame isn't ordinary fire magic, there is a lot of potential. In World of Winx Bloom, I would occasionally use her magic to super heat objects, so being able to cast spells that directly affect the temperature of an object or environment by heat manipulation would be fun to see. It would also be great to add lava based spells to her arsenal (primarily in her Harmonix and Sirenix catalogue) because it would be awesome to see her summon mini volcanoes during a battle alongside other flame based phenomenon such as flame twisters. And finally, I think it would be awesome for her Dragon Flame to grant other magic users temporary bursts of heightened power, like say if she and Flora are fighting a group of monsters, Bloom could use her magic to give Flora's a temporary boost which could make her do things she couldn't do before (like transforming wires into trees or summoning storms of flowers).

Flora - something I think would be awesome is to see her utilise the toxins produced by plant life, such as summoning acid spitting pitcher pot plants or flowers that produce knock-out pollen. It would also be great for her earth and season based spells to be expanded, such as magically terraforming a small area into a beautiful garden or summoning a whirlwind of autumnal leaves. It would also be great to expand the types of plants she controls, such as creating fruits or creating fungi forests or manipulating coral into protective barriers/prisons depending on the use. It would also be fun for her to have some form of healing power for when Bloom isn't around.

Stella - given that her powers are intrinsically linked to light itself, seeing her manipulate it in more creative ways is fun to think about. An example of what I mean is being able to cast illusions like Darcy can, just born of light instead of shadow, but they are purely visual and lack the ability to produce sound. Another fun thing for her magic to do would be the ability to manipulate lasers like she did in WOW. Also, seeing her use light to augment her body like turning invisible or gaining bioluminesensce would be very fun to see.

Aisha - WOW did an awesome job expanding her powers by not only showing her using water but also showing her manipulating fluids like mud and foam, alongside weather manipulation by creating rain. Other ways her powers could be improved upon is by showing manipulation of other water forms such as fog and cloud, other fluids like acid, and maybe even transforming liquids from one state to another like turning water into morphix. It would also be fun to see her summon bodies of water like rivers more often in combat.

Musa - I think a fun way to expand her spell catalogue is by giving her the ability to create auditory illusions, such as when she created the sound of footsteps to lure the Crocodile Man, but in other ways such as changing her voice or creating other false noises like conversations that are not actually happening. Another thing that we have seen her do but not often is summoning instruments into her spells. Like, say in Believix, she summons an electric guitar to shoot magic waves at Gantlos or her summoning a band of magical instruments to boost her spells. Also, a sonic scream. It just makes sense.

Tecna - I think the only true additions to her magic I would make is to have her power actually interact with proper machinery. For example, have her use her magic to repair machines, turn devices into new tech, take separate technological components, and combine them into new weapons such as electric staff or a physical laser cage (essentially using her magic like the elemental power of technology from Ninjago)

Roxy - I really feel like her powers were the most uncreativly utilised by the writing, so I am going to fix it. I think an awesome idea for her powers would be using her magic to grant herself the abilities of any animal, such as the camouflage of a chameleon or the super hearing of a bat, much like Vixen from Dc. Another power that she does have but is severely underutilised is the ability to summon animals, like having her summon a swarm of wasps or a school of jellyfish to maim her enemies would be nice. Finally, the ability to create spectral looking versions of animals would be awesome, like imagine her just shooting a cloud of insects from her hands or creating a pack of tigers to maul the Black Circle. Also, it would be fun for her to maybe shapeshift into animals like Kalshara could.

Well, that is all of my ideas for this post, I will definitely do a part two for the Trix, and let me know what you think of my ideas and what ideas you have yourself. Thank you for reading.

Rewriting the powers of the Forbidden Five

So recently, I began thinking about how the elemental powers of the Forbidden Five are a tad lacking and thought it would be fun to alter how they work. That, that's pretty much it. Let's get started(also fair warning, there are a lot more nods to Miraculous in this post than I was expecting when writing it):

Fear - Let's start with the most disappointing power, the element of fear. Given that we have never seen Rox use this power in the show, I have no prerequisite for how it works, so this will be easy. The primary way this power works is that it allows her to sense an opponent's deepest phobias and trap them in a mental world where they are subjected to intense illusions born of those fears that only that victim can see and it can either affect individuals or a small group, sort of like the power of Gift from Miraculous but it isn't rooted in happiness(a secondary power for this element is an aura of fear that the closer Rox gets to someone the more intense and life threatening the levels get much like Queen of the Dreadzone from miraculous, and that can be condensed into concentrated balls of fear that affect opponents with extreme anxieties and minor hallucinations for a brief moment).

Brute Force - next up is the power wielded by Nokt (which he rarely actually used). I think this power would work best as a booster to physical strength, i.e., instead of firing bolts of it ,it enhances things like punches or kicks. But in a very catastrophic way. Essentially, say Nokt powered up his fist with his elemental energy and leaped up to punch the ground, it would result in levels of damage akin to the impact of a tiny meteor and probably a small explosion based on the force for the punch (think like the power of Clout from Miraculous) and the jump would probably unleash enough force to break or knock down anything/anyone in the nearby vicinity.

Misfortune - Given that the name of this power implies it affects the idea of luck, it should really work that way. This elemental powers' new function would work more like Jinx's power from Teen Titans. It can either emit large waves or concentrated bursts of chaotic energy that can cause any kind of likely disaster in the environment to happen or shift the luck of a victim struck by the energy. Say Zarkt is fighting someone in the labs of Imperium and uses his power, which would result in machines malfunctioning, his enemies' weapon and armour falling apart, pipes to burst, the infrastructure to destabilise, you get the idea, just any possible disaster in that environment will happen all at once. Now say he shot someone, like for this example Kai, with his power, that would cause Kai's luck to temporarily lean towards the worst outcomes such as making him incredibly clumsy or make his spinjitzu go wonky or even make his powers malfunction, but that is only a temporary thing. Also, the power would be either purple or gold instead of red.

Swarm - I have no real improvements on this one, other than maybe being able to summon pre-existing bugs of various types such as bees or moths.

Decay - the only real change I would make to this one is allowing it to be used at range on any living matter. That is all.

So that is all of my improvements/changes to the Forbidden Five's elemental powers. Let me know what you think of these ideas of mine and what ideas you have related to these powers. Have a nice day.

Who could have been the past holders of these miraculouses?

So out of all the figures of mythology and history, who could have potentially wielded the Mouse, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, and Snake in the past? Some ideas I have could be: Princess Iron Fan for the Dragon Miraculous, Genghis Khan for the Tiger Miraculous, Achiles for the Ox Miraculous, and maybe Alexander the Great for the Snake Miraculous. But those are just my ideas, let's hear some of yours.

I just had a fun thought for a superpower

What if there was a character who basically had a perfect body. What I mean by that is that regardless of any internal or external factors, they are physically perfect. Like, they can never get cancer, never suffer diabetes or severe weight change, never lose any senses or functions/gain disabilities like blindness or being unable to walk, never get sick, never suffer from tooth decay, never suffer from mental problems like dementia, you get where I am going. Obviously, they could still die of old age or by being shot, but they can never truly suffer a physical problem of any kind. What do you think of this idea?

If/when we meet the present day versions of Uliana, Morgie, and Hook, who would you want to play them?

As the title says, if we ever meet the adult versions of this trio in a future Descendants film, who would be your dream casting choices for each of them?

Finalisation of the Nightmare Critters pendants for my AU (follow up to last post)

Three posts on the same AU in the same community all in the span of three days. I am shocked by my consistency. But here we are.

This is the follow-up post to my recent post requesting help for the development of the Nightmare Critters' pendants for my Smiling Critters Superhero AU, where I will go over the finalised concepts and powers for each one. And for those that have not seen the previous post, here's the info on these lovely jewels(also, thank you to u/ShatterCake for coming up with most of these power ideas).

Similar to the pendants wielded by the Smiling Critters, these magical little trinkets grant powers to their wielders based on both the holder's personality and what concept they each represent, but there is a difference. These ones were made by Harley Sawyer. In his endless studies of the idea of immortality, the Doctor stumbled upon ancient texts noting the collection of eight mystical pendants that can bestow extraordinary abilities to those who wielded them, and so he set out to collect and study them. He did eventually find some, and using their magical radiation of sorts and combining it with his advanced tech, he was able to create 8 new techno-magic pendants (sort of like the Alliance Rings) that would eventually end up in the hands of the Nightmare Critters. And here they are:

The Skull Pendant is a silver pendant displaying a white agate that represents the concept of death, with the power it grants Baba being called "post-mortem," which allows her to essentially kill/erase memories of herself from the minds of others.

The Money Pendant is a silver pendant boasting a red diamond that represents the concept of greed, with the power it grants Simon being called "mammon's vault," it grants him the power to open a portal to his own private pocket dimension that stores anything or anyone he steals (he can also hide in it if he needs to)

The Storm Pendant is a silver pendant decorated with a purple zircon that embodies the concept of chaos, with the power it grants Poe being called "woe," which allows Poe to temporarily curse their enemies to be tormented with a case of Murphy's Law for a brief period.

The Blood Pendant is a silver pendant fashioned with a pink spinel that represents the concept of connection, which grants Rabie the power of "Blood Bond," which is a vampiric bite that allows her to hear the secrets in the mind of whomever she had bitten.

The Crossbone Pendant is a silver pendant displaying a moldavite gem representing the concept of preservation, which gives Allister the power of "hibernation," which allows him to make others completely freeze in place (similar to Venom).

The Tooth Pendant is a silver pendant inlaid with aquamarine that represents the concept of survival, which subsequently grants Maggie the power of "Iron Belly," which allows her to consume anything from food to metal to even energy blasts without any harm coming to her (essentially an indestructible digestive system)

The Biohazard Pendant is a silver pendant boasting citrine gemstones that embodies the concept of pestilence, with the power it bestows Icky being called "Toxinination," which essentially allows him to excrete poison from his body (usually spitting it from his mouth) that can have any harmful effect, such as corrosiveness.

The Fish Pendant is a silver pendant decorated with a sodalite that represents the concept of community and grants Touille the power of "infestation," which allows him to multiply himself into a mini horde that still retains his original strength (much like Multitude).

That is part 2 of the lore for this au (last time was like part 1.5). Feel free to ask questions and share your thoughts, I hope you are enjoying this AU so far, and I can't wait to see you again. Thanks for reading, and have a nice day.
