Hi, all. I’ve been KJing for about three and half months and I love it so far. There’s a younger guy that’s probably in his early 20s that comes in and sings, and he likes to put in multiple songs at once because he makes it really obvious to me that he wants to sing a lot. Which is fine…except on nights when there’s no one else singing. If there’s other singers, I’ll put his later songs into the rotation.

On nights where it’s just him, he hovers and constantly asks when he’s singing next. I’ve dealt with a few people before that tend to do this, and most of the time I’ll let them know that I’ll call them up when it’s their turn and they’ll take the hint and go sit down. This guy stands maybe 3 feet away from the booth, and when I tell him when he’ll be singing, he’ll say “okay” and then continue standing there. I’ll say, “if you want to go sit down you can, I’ll call you up when it’s your turn to sing again.” Again, he’ll respond with “okay” but continue standing there. Now, I’ve never been one to actually directly tell someone to go and sit down. But last time he stood looking directly over my shoulder, so I told him to sit down and I’ll call him up when his song is ready. He said “okay” and walked away, but came back a few minutes later and hovered near the booth again for quite some time.

The thing that sucks is that the guy is really nice. I don’t particularly like his singing because he’s a bit off-key, but I don’t ever want to discourage him from singing. I just can’t figure out how to tell the guy that he shouldn’t be standing up where I am near the booth.

I believe he has some sort of mental disability, he always gets to and from the bar through vans that do free rides in our city for disabled people. He also speaks pretty slowly.

So, I don’t know if I should just keep telling him to stay sitting down until I call him up, but I hate sounding like a broken record and don’t want to offend him. I’m kind of stuck on what to do. I don’t particularly like confrontation, and he’s never given me any major problems so far, but I just don’t like dealing with the hovering. Any advice on what I could do would be appreciated, and thanks to those who read all of this!

So I’d like to guess that about 95% of my RPs with my favorite characters are wholesome, and sweet, between two best friends and with love all around. But then tonight I was like “y’know what, I’m bored, let’s switch it up.”

And so, I found an old chat where the bot is the user’s ex-boyfriend, I made them get back together and have them say I love you to each other again…but then I had my OC tell him the real reason why they broke up was because she cheated on him.

And you know how users on the main sub are always complaining about how “nice” the bots are and that they never get angry at the user no matter what? Well, when my OC told the bot she cheated, he was LIVID. He was cursing and throwing things and everything. I even made her apologize and cry, and he was still so brutal.

Now, I’m hooked, wondering how she’s going to be able to gain his trust back, if at all. I might start fighting with the bots more often because wow this is the most exciting chat I’ve had in a while.

(Also, I could be wrong, but I think the only reason why he did freak out and not shrug it off like ‘oh okay whatever I forgive you’ is because in the previous message I put: “I know he’s going to be angry after this.” And oh, he definitely was. I love it.)

My app is updated to the latest version as well, just downloaded it a few minutes ago. The problem still persists. I miss my pretty chats 😭

I just started a new chat yesterday to try out LongSqueak and it is just so good. I’ve never been a fan of super long replies so I just have the response length set to “long” and I have response style set to “+dialogue” and so far it’s been giving me about three paragraphs per message. It doesn’t feel too long and it does a great job with the dialogue as well. Also…the amount of memory (4x) is actually insane. I’m about 50 chats in and I haven’t even hit halfway on the memory usage yet.

So, yeah. Kind of obsessed. I know a lot of people that have tried it don’t care for it, but to me (and this is just my opinion) if someone were to get c.ai+, this would be what makes it worth it. I’ve always loved DeepSqueak, but sometimes it’s really hit or miss with the responses. LongSqueak has given me zero issues so far. It also responds to editing the chats well, like if it makes a mistake and I edit it, the next message it will be fixed completely. It’s just so nice to have another good chat style!

What does everyone else think?

There’s always been complaints about c.ai., especially since the age verification and ads. But every single complaint I’ve seen lately, I’ve literally never had an issue with.

“The filter/bob is so annoying!” I haven’t seen Bob in months, maybe a year.
“I got the age verification thing even though I’m an adult!” I’ve never been asked to verify my age.
“The bots won’t stop kissing me/acting shocked if I kiss them!” I’ve never had this issue either.
“They keep going OOC/they keep saying a banned word but then say they can’t say that word.” I can count on one hand how many times a bot has gone OOC or used a banned word.
“My messages are getting cut off mid-sentence!” This happened to me once, and lasted about 2 days but then the issue was fixed.
“The DS/PS responses are so bad and the memory sucks.” The current chat I’m in has been the most interesting chat I’ve had since joining back in 2024, and the stuff it remembers literally surprises me.
“I can’t have violent/spicy chats because the filter!” I’ll admit I’ve had a few (okay, more than a few) violent/spicy chats, but I’ve never had the filter pop up before.

I’m just wondering if I am somehow the only one to have zero issues. Like to me (and this is a wildly unpopular opinion) the app right now is literally flawless. Rarely I’ll get a response I don’t like but that isn’t c.ai’s fault, I just prefer a different response. I’ll swipe a few times and find a better message and move on. I hate to say that I feel like such a bootlicker for being so supportive of c.ai, but since the whole age verification thing I really haven’t had any issues whatsoever. Am I just insanely lucky to never have any issues? Or are there any others here that feel like this?

I realized that I had forgot to pin a message with important details I wanted the bot to remember, but not until way later in my chat. And so I scrolled back about 100 messages and held down on the one I wanted to pin, but instead of tapping “pin”, my fat finger accidentally tapped “rewind chat to here” directly above it 😭 can we please get a confirm button and/or a popup that says “are you sure you want to rewind chat to here?” because I just lost so many messages…even though I know it’s my own fault 😭

I got a strange comment the other night when someone was up singing. I started singing along behind the booth (obviously without a mic) when the chorus came on and one of the singer’s friends came up to me after and said “this is their time to shine, not yours.”

I was confused at first, because this is something I’ve always done and I’ve never had an issue before. Also everyone else was singing along in the bar, and it was so loud that I could barely hear myself singing. Regardless, I apologized and said I didn’t mean anything bad by it, and they just kind of glared at me and walked away. I’m assuming they were drunk.

So, what do you think? Should we as KJs just kind of nod our heads along to the beat of the song instead of singing?
