Hot take: Tatum is the first player to return from an achilles injury BETTER than before.

Not a Celtics fan but Tatum's always been one of my more favorite players in the league, I think he's the first player I've seen that came back from an achilles tear better than he was before. Everything is the same, the athleticism has barely gotten worse if it all, but now his passing is just fucking crazy. He's obviously always been a good passer but idk how many passers in the league are better rn

Cade, Harden, Scottie, Jalen Johnson (maybe), Bron, Giddey, Egor, Hali, Trae, Jokic, Jamal, Luka, LaMelo, Garland, Keyonte, and maybe Keaton Wagler can be better. These are the only players in the league I think pass better than him. Idk how his passing just got so much better after his return maybe it's just being injured you can only sit in a room and watch film all day, but I've never seen Tatum play as good as he has since he came back.

I know y'all lost JB, but just know Tatum is still here and the best he's ever been.

(HOU-MIL)

Bucks get a long term future star, Rockets completely fix spacing issues while also becoming one of the deepest rosters in the league.

(HOU-MIL) Legal after 2 months

Assuming the Rockets realise Sengun is trash and the Bucks think Sengun can be a franchise cornerstone.

Bucks: If they think Sengun is a perennial all star who can be the number 1 or 2 guy on like a 2030 Bucks championship team, then this is an instant yes for them. They have too many guards already, and to get Sengun they'd have to trade away Rollins and Jaquez who are 2 amazing players but hardly consequential in a Sengun trade, plus Turner who they're just completely upgrading from and also a 1st which will no way in hell turn out to be close to Sengun. also they take JD's salary

Rockets: Realise that Sengun is trash and not good at basketball. They sell high on him and go all in on this 1 year with KD, getting to run Rollins-Amen-KD-Jabari-Turner with FVV, Reed, Jaime, Tari, Adams, and Smart off the bench to create probably the 2nd deepest team in the league with 11 guys who can start on any given night. This team has tons of shooting, tons of handling, the defense and rebounding which Houston were among the best at last year become even better, and even if they're unable to win with KD this year they still have their whole young core intact AND they add Rollins who I thought was the MIP this year, Jaquez who I thought was the 6MOY this year and as the cherry on top they get a 3rd FRP for 2027 so they can blitz through a "rebuild".

If you couldn't tell I wrote these arguments from 2 different perspectives, the Bucks thinking Sengun is great and the Rockets thinking he's ass. As a Rockets fan, I'm on the side of he's not that good and it's best if we trade him right now when his value is at it's highest. I think Sengun is obviously a great player but is more so top 40 than top 24. I don't think he's ever gonna develop much, and if he does it definitely won't be in this bad spacing lineup where he can't create. In my opinion KD is too good rn and we've given up too much for this core to not go all in rn, the worst thing we can do is try to run it back vs the Thunder, Spurs, Wolves, and the East which is fucking crazy now.

(ORL-UTA) If they fuck around and match salaries and add picks if y'all think it's needed, do either of these make sense?

even though I hate JJJ at the 5, it seems like after the Kessler trade that's what it's going to be, leaving the projected lineup at Key-Darryn-Ace-Lauri-JJJ. These are 5 guys who are all very respectable shooters. Paolo or Franz would eat mfs up in that spacing and with Peterson being there they don't HAVE to be the number 1 scoring option.

Also the playmaking on that Jazz team is trash and I think both of them are way better than Lauri in that regard. They both also fit the timeline more with longer contracts and just generally being younger.

Personally I'd prefer Paolo for the longer contract, better playmaking, and everything I've seen suggests the Magic would rather trade Paolo than Franz anyway, also just as a fan I want to see him go crazy in good spacing.

But yeah what do y'all think, is this something that could work? And if it could then what would the package be? And who's attaching picks if any?

(HOU-SAS-DAL-MIL) Southern trade

Rockets: get ball handling and shooting, run Kyrie-Vassell-Amen-KD-Sengun with Rollins being a 6MOY contender plus Smart and Tari off the bench to hide Kyrie and Bogi defensively. They lose Reed and Bari but Rollins is about as old as Bari and Vassell is about 25 too.

Spurs: Get their longterm 4 who can shoot and get off Vassell's crazy contract.

Mavs: Get a mentor who's also coming back from an ACL and their point guard of the future, this is about what I think Kyrie's trade value is after the injury.

Bucks: Trade Rollins straight up for 2 good firsts. Lets Burries start which is very important for his development.

Random conversation, but how many better wing defender duos have there been than this?

Jordan and Scottie are obviously no 1, that 96 Bulls vs Magic series is fucking insane, the Magic were struggling to even get the ball past half court.

Other than that though, LeBron and Wade come to mind, some combination of the OKC wing defenders with J Dub, Caruso, Dort and Cason (I'm leaning towards J Dub and Caruso), maybe Dumars and Rodman but idk how much I consider Rodman a wing defender. I think if Ron Holland remains a Piston for 2-3 more years, him and Ausar will 1000% be in the conversation (imo already are but could be on top 3 levels that's how good I think they are)

Is there anyone else that's better though?

(DEN-LAC-DET-MIL) Who says no?

Nuggets: Upgrade from Cam Johnson to Rui who's just straight up a better player, also sign and trade Peyton Watson for Ryan Rollins who is a better player around the same age and on one of the best contracts in the league, plus a stretch big in Day'ron Sharpe They also burn salary which is very very important to them.

Clippers: Having Keaton and Garland together just doesn't make sense to me. Imo Keaton needs to be a ball dominant guard to not only maximize his playstyle but also get more experience. They say bye to him to downgrade from Rui to Cam Johnson and get Peyton Watson who they've been targeting. They give up a bunch of seconds for this

Pistons: The Pistons main problem is pretty clearly the ball handling load on Cade, so they go out and get the best ball handler in the league. Of course he is injury prone and not on a great contract so they only trade a 1st, a swap and a 2nd for him. Obviously helps with the shooting too.

Bucks: Trade Rollins for a 1st and a swap plus Ron Holland. I'm really high on Ron Holland and think he can be one of the best wing defenders of all time, despite the offense being bad. This continues their rebuild.

Nets: Give up Day'ron and take on Nnaji to get 4 2nds. I know Brooklyn already has too many 2nds but since they love getting em so much they're probably gonna use them in the future for big transactions.
