I’m curious if it’s possible to connect grow lights to my Arcadia uvb lights? I have 5 enclosures that have uvb + heat and I’m struggling to keep the plants alive so I’m hoping I can add grow lights without having to use extension cords bc the plugs are full already as my apartment doesn’t have many plugs. These are the grow lights I’m looking at and also included a picture of the type of Arcadia fixtures I use, I have 2.5% and 6% uvb bulbs

(I did not have part in finding this little guy, a family member did and I’m trying to help.) my parents found this kinglet bird (baby?) outside seemingly injured or unwell, I will include a video as it keeps twitching its head, is this a sign of neurological damage? I only touched it after my parents had picked it up I know you shouldn’t touch wildlife, and in the video I was gently touching it to show what it is doing with its head.

Just a little appreciation post for the Coraline Monster High doll! I’ve wanted her for some time and I’m SO SO happy to have her, Coraline has been my comfort movie since I was a child and I collected monster high dolls so this is so cool to have. They need to make a Wybie mh doll!🤩

I’ve only had my skink a month now so I’m new to owing a skink, but I’m wondering about how to avoid him walking in his own poop?😑 I noticed today that even though it’s been a few days since he’s gone he smells like a poop a bit and I didn’t see any at all in his enclosure or on him, but I noticed it when he was on my lap. I just worry that if I let him walk around he’s going to trail the bacteria on everything? Just curious what is normal and how anyone goes about sanitizing after free roaming?

This is Gloom, my Greek/ Eresus walckenaeri (I think, previous owner wasn’t sure) velvet spider I got from someone in November last year. They said she was a few months old but wasn’t sure and wasn’t even 100% sure on species. She started out in a 2.5”x2.5” cube and as of 2 months ago is in a 3x7”. I have never seen any signs of her molting since having her. Is this normal? I know that they take a long time to mature but I’m a bit worried. I feel her typically once a week unless her abdomen is looking a bit small. I never mist and I feel her head-less meal worms and crickets. I just want to check if it’s normal that there’s no signs of a molt?

I have two whites tree frogs and literally CAN NOT FIND a good water dish for them that is the right depth as they both enjoy soaking their entire body aside from their heads. I’ve tried multiple different ones and decided to try my own. I have this planter (pretty small) and I added in so pebbles at the bottom and a slanted rock just to make sure they can get out very easily. I also want to add a rock outside to climb in and out. Is this safe for them? Also bowl recommends would be helpful!

This is Ducky my whites tree frog, I’ve had him for about a year so he’s roughly 3. He is VERY clumsy and likes to launch himself at anything and everything so I’m assuming this is a cut in between his nostrils? He’s housed with Petrie and they’ve always been together and honestly Petrie is the behaved one, I can’t see him biting Ducky on purpose or anything. Is there anything I can do to help him heal or just leave him alone? He’s acting insane as usual so no behavioural changes, I just want to be safe. Also is this definitely a cut? It really looks like it to me.

Currently dealing with a heat wave that is becoming really worrisome for my crested gecko. His enclosure temp was resting at about 31 and I’ve got it down to 29 with an ice pack but I’m not sure how to manage this for long periods. He’s acting completely normal, I just woke him up (7:30 pm) and he seems good still climbing around at the top of his enclosure but I’m still super worried. I added an ice pack with a damp towel wrapped around it to the bottom of his enclosure and put his favourite hide on top so he can sit there if he gets too hot. He’s in a grow tent enclosure so it’s holding the heat way too much (buying a pvc asap) I also sprayed his enclosure down a bit toward the bottom. My ac unit sucks and I’m in a loft apartment so the heat is just rising and getting unbearable. HOW DO I REGULATE THE ENCLOSURE TEMPS??? I’ve only had my boy for a few months now and I’m super worried he’ll overheat.

I bought this the other day as it’s supposed to be a veterinary grade disinfectant, and I want to double check if it’s safe for reptiles. I have various geckos, a skink as well as frogs and invertebrates. Does anyone use this stuff and how do you use it? F10 isn’t available anywhere where I live even online so I have to find an alternative option, and vinegar and dish soap apparently aren’t very safe so I wanted to try this!

This is Bug, he’s roughly 4 years old and I’ve only had him a week. I sat in front of his enclosure and talked a bit to him a few times just to get him used to my voice, and twice he crawled onto my lap and seemed very curious. He’s a little cranky the past day or so and I’m wondering what is the best option for bonding with him? I do choice based handling with all my reptiles but he’s my first skink so I’m not sure what works best typically. Also, how often should he be pooping? He went yesterday and then again today but I haven’t fed him in 3 days so I’m not sure how normal that is.

I just got my northern blue tongue skink! I have other reptiles but have never owned a skink. He is approx 4 years old, does he look overweight? Sorry the photos aren’t great, he is pretty timid since I just brought him home today so getting a good photo was difficult.
Setup info:
He is in a 2x2x6 grow tent set up with 6% Arcadia uvb (22”) and a 100w DHE on a dimming thermostat, has three hides, warm hide for basking (has a basking rock beside it too) a humid hide with lots of spaghnum moss, and a cool hide. Also has a very very large water dish and various skink safe plants. I also have 10 lb of bark on the way and 1 lb of leaf litter so I can add more clutter very soon! Will be waiting approx 60 days before adding substrate.

I previously had this piece of wood in my tree frog enclosure but ended up rinsing it with boiling water too put in this tarantula enclosure, I came home today and there’s a pile of wood powder??? Is it possible it’s type of mite causing it? I’m supposed to pick up my new pink toe in the next 2 days so I want to make sure this is safe prior to putting them in their new enclosure!! There are a few springtails in there but I doubt they’d cause this

Not sure where to post this so I thought I’d try here. I just bought this lamp bc I LOVE bugs, but I can’t find any info on it.

I’m looking into this raw dog food for a bts I’m getting, does this look like it would be a good food for protein source? Each portion contains 7% veggies (veggies in it are shown in the picture) and its pure ground organs. I will also switch it up with egg and other proteins occasionally. I’m new to skinks so I’m just looking for advise! The mega blend pack comes with the pork, beef, chicken, duck and turkey versions of the food which are all ground organs with 7% veggies. I obviously will be feeding them 50% vegetables as well. I’m also wondering about quail eggs and canned snails?

I got three more Giant American Millipedes (the largest legal species in Canada), I already have one named Reid who is nearly full grown (last picture) but I wanted to get him some friends! These three are the Lafayette type so they have more of a blonde colour in comparison to Reid who is a bit more red. They are like 1.5-2” currently, very excited to watch them grow!
Reid was in a 10 gal but I moved him and his new friends to a 29 gal, there’s 6-8” (some areas are higher) of organic top soil, mixed with leaf litter and lots of rotten wood. I also have two small pieces of pothos starting to grow. PLEASE IGNORE THE TAPE AND LID I have to buy a replacement so I had to make a custom one temporarily 😭

I’ve been looking into these guys and I’m curious about the lifespan of them, how long do they live as adults? I’ve seen most sources say up to 8 years as adults and like 2 sources say 2 years. Anyone actually know? In captivity specifically
