Vishwanath and Sons on track to become Suriya's 2nd 200CR grosser after Karuppu.

The film has already crossed 120-130 crores WW. Monday hold in all areas is quite steady. Would end up collecting 10-15 crores today and is on track to go past the 200 crore mark WW this weekend.

The best thing about VAS is that it wasn't just a one man show. We need more "star" films with good scope to the supporting characters.

Yes, Suriya had his own share of mass moments in the film but Radhika and Mamitha had great scope and they gave their best.

The chemistry between the three of them is the USP of this film.

Even Raveena Tandon and Bhavani Sre characters had some decent screen space.

The fact that there were multiple impactful characters within the core plot of a star film itself is super refreshing.

I know Pradeep Ranganathan may not be a superstar yet but a film like Dude was written for a star. Dude only worked because there was an equivalent scope for Mamitha, Sarathkumar and to an extent Hridhu Haroon as well.

A star film only works when you have good supporting characters with considerable importance and relevance to the core plot. Pure reliance on fan service and action sequences is a recipe for disaster.
