I’m sure by now we’re all aware of Brendan Sorsby’s gambling addiction. Dude decided to forgo his college season at Texas Tech for the NFL supplemental draft, then today the league announces there’s not gonna be a supplemental draft and he’s gonna have to sit out the year. Why does he have to sit out a whole year? Why can’t an NFL team pick him up as an Undrafted Free Agent? Why can’t an even a small college pick him up before the season starts?

The job market sucks here in the US.

Hey guys! I‘m looking to learn something productive this summer in the blue collar industry. I own basic hand tools, have my OSHA-10, and I have been to trade school and have a year of experience as an electrician.

I would like to get in the electrical field again, but I am also open to any other jobs that’ll get my hands dirty. Does anybody have any suggestions, or know who is hiring in the area? Thanks for reading!

Why does every single skilled trades position require experience? I can’t even get a drywall job without getting gatekept by the 2-3 years experience BS. Even entry level laborer jobs want experience. I get that some roles do require experience, but does every ENTRY LEVEL position??

Hey guys! I really screwed up. I was moving some N64 ROMS over to my R36S and deleting duplicates and in the process I somehow made it where I can’t play anything for N64. I am so bummed out. Has anybody else had this issue?

A random idea suddenly popped into my unemployed mind: Has anybody ever taken a road trip to physically give their resumès to companies around the country until they were offered a job?

If so, did you successfully find a job? I personally think it would be a fun way to find work. I’m tired of constantly getting rejected on all the online job postings. Talking to companies in person may help my chances if I make a good first impression. I am seriously considering doing this, just wanted to see if anybody else has had any luck trying this. I’m tired of stalling and biding my time for an apprenticeship opportunity. At this point I’m willing to temporarily do volunteer work for free if it’ll lead to a job. Is there anything out there that I can do in to help me gain some familiarity and experience in the trade while I wait for an apprenticeship? Thanks for reading!

Not wishing ill on anyone out here, but I lowkey hope we get another COVID-type situation that keeps many out of the workforce for a while. COVID woke a lot of people up to the realities of what we’ve been preaching on this subreddit. This economy needs a hard reset. The cost of living has gotten the point where most jobs are no longer worth the pay. AI and outsourcing are slowly killing the job market as well. Society needs to normalize not working.

I’m from a pretty remote area, so there’s no construction work available for me out here. I’m thinking my only way to break into the industry is to look for a entry level travel position.

Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody had a solution to an issue I’m facing with my romhacks. The Nintendo 64's maximum cartridge size was 64 Megabytes. I have romhacks that are slightly larger than this (70 MB). When I launch the romhacks, I get an error that the that says, “File is too large”. Is there any way for me to bypass the 64 MB limit and play my romhacks? Thanks for reading!

The job market is cooked. I took their advice, I went to trade school and learned a trade to make myself more marketable, but so far it has gotten me nowhere. Why is it so difficult to land a job in the skilled trades with no experience? If there truly is a shortage in the trades, shouldn’t they hire me simply based on the fact that I’m not lazy and that I have the willingness to learn a trade? How are we ever going to resolve this shortage with a high barrier for entry level positions?

This day and age, everybody is lazier than they’ve ever been, laying around staring at screens. Sadly this is what my life has become because I’m applying to jobs constantly that never get back to me. Shouldn’t this help my chances?? I feel like I’m one of the few people that doesn’t want to spend my life in front of a screen like a zombie. All I wanna do is be on my feet all day getting my hands dirty and getting paid for it, is that too much to ask for?

I’ve ventured them all: RoadDogJobs, Trillium Staffing, RoadTechs, EnergyJobShop. They have some pretty good opportunities listed. I’ve applied to plenty of them but I’ve never heard anything back. Have any you guys ever landed a job applying on these websites such as these? Or are they all fake job postings?
