Who in the world is out there every minute of every day weed-whacking and/or cutting trees down in my neighborhood, ffs?? Srsly all the vegetation is going to die in a minute, can't you just stop with the incessant noise??
PS. What Im actually mad at is the rampant infill and destruction of the woods around my house. But I also really hate the neverending noise.
It's ridiculous and I cannot even imagine how this elderly woman who doesn't even cook for herself and only uses the A/C when I turn it on, has used more electricity in one month than she ever has in her life, apparently.

Mom and I have been in a holding pattern for about 4 or 5 years. There's so much wrong, and every effing thing to make her life better is a huge effing battle. I'm so effing sick of it all. And yet, every day is the same stupid gross combative/who cares day.
Today was my "I can take a break" day, which means I didn't go make sure she took her meds or let the dogs out or eat something besides ice cream. And I'm 100% sure I'm not doing anything right for her, and today I just don't care. Except for I do.
I hate this.
I have this very vivid memory of camping on the water at Beaver lake about 20 years ago, but not at a campground. Just kinda off the side of a road and literally on the edge of the water. Was this a thing and if so, could one still do that?
We grew up with The Twilight Zone on our kinda slim (compared to now) television diet. It was exhilaratingly terrifying to me and maybe a little traumatic sometimes. I just rewatched the first episode and it took me down the rabbit hole. I'm very curious, do you think your grands would have a similar, or worse, reaction? Just curious.
I didn't choose the vp floors, they were foisted upon me years ago. I'm elderly now, and can't muster the eternal energy needed to clean them. And, the person who chose them has never and will never do squat to clean them I'm debating burning it all down or hiring someone to come in and mop for a very small fee. Help me pick 😁
I've had this orchid about 7 years and it blooms about 2-3 times per year. My question is, what are these stick things that grow out of it, and should I be doing anything with/about them? I've just been cutting them off, but I wonder if they serve a purpose. Idon't know what to call them so my Internet searches have been fruitless. TYVMIA

So....
The water isn't cloudy, you can see the bottom of the pool if you're standing on the deck. We're going to run the filter when the rain lets up. The question is, should we clean the filter first? I think yes, but the man says no. His idea is to let the water movement get the dirt to the middle, then vacuum, then clean the filter.
What do you think?

Longish story -
My mom, gods bless her, has been less and less interested in anything lately. Today after a Dr appt, we went for lunch to a place she's always loved that has a gift shop attached. She was in her happy place wandering and looking at all the stuff, and then came upon this book and got SO excited! She opened it up and was exclaiming over the pictures (and I noticed the font is remarkably large!) I can't remember the last time she was this animated about anything. This one reminded her of when I was little, and we had a nice stroll down memory lane for a couple of minutes, then I bought it for her. She read it the whole way home then put it on the arm of her comfy chair when we got there.
I know things can change in an instant, but omg, it was just so very nice to see my real mom peek out for a bit. Keeping everything x'd that it gives her hours of joy. 🤗
They have these for sale at the restaurant I took my mom for lunch. Yay or nay?
Interestingly, the pull off opener part of the box, had the cooking instructions on it. I opened it from the bottom, icyc.
