New to corporate & dilemma

Hi everyone, This is going to be a long passage so i will write some buzz words here to fetch the attention, my main query is for people who are working/experienced/just joined.

I am a recent graduate- completed B.com from A decent tier 2/3 university (which is considered very bad uni but they really got some nice placements). I am M20
I got placed into a finance niche role, which i believe is a starting path of my career - though the compensation is somewhat like say very very low (more than 17k and less than 20k - fixed and some 2k or 3k goes into EPF and some other components like insurance bla bla) - but the hikes are good - i have been told by seniors that i will be able to catch up 25-27k after a year.

Now the dilemma i am having is, to apply and try my luck in other companies too- say big4s as i want to grow in finance only. But on the other hand, i have joined this company like 1.5months ago only and this is a very nice company and big one too, i have been thriving here, was even able to connect with directors. Currently i am getting trained across the functions. But on the same time i want to get out into some big4 with some better role or better package. And I feel like doing so might cause me a harm - 1.5month only and trying to get out? What hRS will think about it? Further, my managers and all are very nice, i feel what they are going to say?

Please if someone can advise me?
My short-term goals -> get into FP&a/Audit associate/other finance roles- in 1.5-2 years
Long terms goals-> Pursue 1Y MBA from ISB/top b schools abroad (LSE,Oxford, or European schools) and get into M&A advisory or other finance/fin-consulting roles.

Please ignore, what i am feeling for my managers, i am not so attached generally, but they're training me across the functions for like a month and leaving them, is something which i dont feel nice.

Want to switch to KPMG

Hey guys, I am currently working in an IT consulting MNC, in a finance operations role.

I want to switch into KPMG, i have completed B.com a few months ago and started Acca I have given one exam and taken 5 exemptions so I am at 6/13.

Please can you advise me what roles i can target and after how many exams of acca. What time should I consider switching and should I do it without referral?

Question about exam and exemptions

Hi everyone,I’m currently planning to sit for the Financial Reporting (FR) exam in the December 2026 session. I am on a tight budget right now and am experiencing some budget reluctance, so I want to optimize my cash flow and avoid paying for all my exemptions at once if possible.

I currently have 5 exemptions sitting as pending offers on my dashboard (unaccepted for about 2 months now): FA, MA, LW, TX, and AA.

My plan to save money today is:

Accept only FA and MA exemptions right now (to clear the progression rule barrier).Book the FR exam before the standard entry deadline.Leave LW, TX, and AA completely unaccepted/pending on my dashboard so I don't trigger the 30-day payment countdown or get an overdue balance on them.

My questions for the community:

1)Does the myACCA portal actually allow you to selectively "Accept" only a few pending exemptions while leaving the rest untouched as pending offer?

2)Will leaving LW, TX, and AA unaccepted cause any system blocks when I try to sit for the FR exam in December, or will ACCA only care that FA and MA are cleared?

If anyone has successfully staggered their exemptions like this to manage their finances, I’d love to hear how it went

MBA and mindset

Hi guys.

I wanted to ask one thing

Why do people in MNC keep telling me that if I want to do an MBA i should do it instantly after the grad of 1 YOE?

They say : i can lose my ability to study once I start earning 😭

How do I tell them that I'm planning abroad for an MBA which would usually require a minimum minimum of 4 YOE or even an Indian MBA that i want requires 36 months of experience

MiM

Hi guys , I am from India. A recent graduate who's starting a Job in an entry level role of finance and accounting.

I am looking forward to pursuing MiM after 1.5-2 YOE. If by any chance , can anyone give me suggestions and advice for University?

My UG- b.com (7.54/10) Upward trajectory, i did try damage control

Pursuing ACCA

My aim is to get into corporate finance / M&A / Finance consulting/ Ib( idk if IB is any possibility )

My Target schools : i only know about LBS AND OXFORD And CJS.

(Back then , I was thinking that I'll need a mba in future but I come from weak financial background & competitive demographics so M7 is practically impossible for me & T 10 too. I am relying heavily on scholarships atleast 60% or some. Due to being a first generation and low income group)

Any suggestions would help.

Forensics (Integrity Due Diligence) - Exit opportunities ? Interested in M&A/corporate finance

Hi everyone,

I'm a recent commerce graduate and ACCA student from INDIA I've received an offer for an Assistant - Forensics (Integrity Due Diligence) role at a global accounting and advisory firm.

From the JD, my work would include:

1)Conducting online research using commercial registries, stock exchanges, corporate databases, and media sources.

2)Performing third-party/vendor due diligence.

3)Risk assessments focused on AML, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, and sanctions.

4)Drafting compliance and risk reports.

5)Supporting compliance engagements and working with the team on client deliverables.

My long-term goal is Corporate Finance, M&A, Deal Advisory, or Transaction Advisory, and I'm also planning to complete ACCA:

1)What are the realistic exit opportunities after 2–4 years in this role?

2)How difficult is it to transition internally or externally into Transaction Advisory, Valuations, Corporate Finance, or M&A?

3)Does this role provide transferable skills for those careers, or does it mainly lead to Compliance, AML, Risk, and Forensics roles?

4)If my end goal is M&A/Corporate Finance, what technical skills should I build alongside this job (financial modeling, valuation, accounting, etc.)?

Would you consider this a good starting role for someone targeting Corporate Finance in the long run, or would a traditional Finance Operations/Accounting role (AP/AR/R2R) be a better foundation?

I'd especially appreciate insights from people working in Forensics, Deal Advisory, Transaction Advisory, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, or anyone who has successfully made this transition.

Thanks!
