Does you country have an official ID card?

We have our "Cédula de Identidad". It's mandatory for all, free, and expires every so often, so you must renew it.

One must always carry it, and we use it to vote and basically for every legal and banking process and for anything that needs your identity to be validated. From entering a National Park, to acquiring a cellphone line, to enter a gated community... we use it a lot!!!

(I just realized the US doesn't have one! And got me wondering)

Inside helmet earbuds?

I sometimes use Waze (GPS) on the Vespa.

I really don't want to go through the trouble of mounting the phone on the bike (mirror or handlebar bag). Less is more, for me.

A previous look at the route on the map, and listening to the indications ("in 300 meters turn right") is enough for me.

Currently I just use some small wired earbuds but would like to go bluetooth... but I'd probably rather not have earbuds in-ear. Definitely don't plan on listening to music.

Any recommendations for a cheap speaker or similar that is glued to the inside of the helmet? I remember in the 90s my dad had something like that, so it must exist now!

How long should non-stick pans last?

A little over 4 years ago I bought a small, cheap set of pans and pots. I only use silicone stuff, wash them with a soft sponge and I always let them cool down before washing.

The nonstick coating is all gone in the pan that I use every day for my morning eggs. A headache to wash.

For a pan with that usage, is 4 years acceptable? It's really not good for anything anymore.

Asking because I'm considering replacing the whole set (all pieces are now sticking food) for a another one more pricey. But wondering: if a more expensive set is also going to last 4 years, I'd just replace it with the same set again.

--

Edit:

Since I posted this, I've been reading a little. Also, I've now gotten a lot of useful comments. I honestly didn't know that non-stick was short lived almost by definition.

I will be researching for good Stainless Steel options maybe in Tramontina, which I find reasonably priced and the quality is supposed to be good.

And probably I can get a small non-stick for eggs that can be replaced periodically.

Thank you all!

I'm in from/in Costa Rica.

Unpopular opinion: classic Vespas are way prettier

Lately everyone says they want a vespa. But they only think of modern veapas. I don't actually like them a lot. I feel they're too sport.

People know I own an (inherited) ET4 (which I love and has much more of a rounded, retro look) and friends/acquaintances send me pictures of random modern Sprints, VLX, Primaveras they see on the street and the like. And for me it's always like "Ah nice" but on the inside it's like "I don't care".

Edit to clarify: I AM AWARE that my ET4 IS a modern vespa. Just a very old, somewhat unreliable modern vespa with hard to find spare parts 🥴

How does numbering work in lino?

Should I initially decide the amount of copies I'll be making? Or is this not a thing in lino?

Asking because of my learning in arts school, you're supposed to make a limited amount, number them and, in theory, destroy/alter the original plate.

I feel lino is more informal... What's the common way of handling this?

What goes in Bedroom decoration?

I live in a very small apartment.

My living room, kitchen and office are all decorated in a way that I like very much and I've been told by friends who come over that they completely reflect my personality, tastes and even fandom. I have art that I've made, artworks I've bought, action figures, plants, my music setup, vinyl appliques in the kitchen ...

For some reason, my (also very small) bedroom is untouched. I really don't know what to decorate with.

In a conceptual level, what do you decorate your bedroom with? I don't like pictures, I feel like art in the bedroom is weird. Maybe because I grew up in a house full of paintings but these were not in the bedrooms. Posters I feel are like teenager-ish...

Help me gather ideas for my white empty bedroom.

Should I rotate my living room?

I've lived/owned here for 4 years. See pictures for context.

All I have, I have purchased specifically for this space. I helped my dad make the turntable cabinet.

My first logic was that the sofa needed to be looking towards the dining table. But the speakers HAVE to be on either side of that same wall, pointing inwards to the apartment. (Logically this is less than ideal, the speakers should be opposite of the sofa, but this is what I have).

I have had temporarily placed the speakers on some boxes, 4 years have gone by, and am looking for a solution to that.

After weeks of giving thought about this I question, what if I swap the sofa and the turntable?

Would it be that bad to have the sofa facing towards the front door?

Honestly I'm the only one who sits on the sofa. But if someone does, the other person is usually sitting at the table and since the space is very small I feel like it won't make a difference.

What about these stands?

Hello from Costa Rica.

I have some Kilpsch R41m.

I was looking for some speaker stands to probably buy off Amazon, but I need them to be cheap because since they're heavy, the shipping here will be expensive. I was looking at some minimalist metal stuff but they're mainly for lighter speakers.

Then I found someone who makes/sells these wooden ones locally. They customize the desired size and finish.

I want them to be 70cm tall (28").

My concern is, how to secure them to the base... It's seismic here. I'd probably add some metal piece to screw them on.

I'll add a photo of my living room with temporary wooden boxes that I used to get an idea of the height and sound.

What do you all think?

P.S. I know my setup is less than ideal, but my apartment is really small and has few walls. I mainly listen to music from across the sofa,

What is Calisthenics really about?

I just found this sub by chance. I know very little about calisthenics, mostly that it's a lot of bodyweight, which I've always liked (I'm a capoeira angola practitioner and have practiced functional training).

But all I see in this sub are people doing pull-ups or similar.

What else is there to the discipline and where to start?

First lino ever

I did practice woodcut print about 20 years ago in College...

Lately I felt like I wanted to try lino, seemed similar but easier. Also, I just learned that now there are water based inks!!! 🥳 Made cleaning instant!

Question:

How to avoid inking the surrounding edge? I've seen linoleum being cut around the silhouette of the art. But then, how do I keep register marks? Thinkg ahead for/if I print more than one color.

I slept a week with a man who snores

He's a friend with benefits. I'm NOT clingy at all and we're not too affectionate, Im used to sleeping alone and hate sharing the bed.

We've slept together before and he snores, not too loud, but constantly. I always go through hell when he stays over (happened a few times) so eventually I kindly asked him to not stay anymore.

It makes me feel irate when I'm sleeping and BOOM he does like one loud, single snore and I IT MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL, I will move him, shoosh him, and so neither does he or I sleep well ALL NIGHT LONG.

Well we had a week long vacation planned and he booked everything months ago because I was way too busy with something big.

A few days before the trip I realized that I was going to be sleeping in a foreign bed with this person for a WHOLE WEEK.

Glad to report, I brought some cheap disposable ear plugs, the ones that feel like a marshmallow. I shoved those all the way to my brain and slept perfectly from night 2 to the rest of the days. (Night 1 was trial and indeed neither slept).

Just wanted to share that those thingies work wonders.
