And this is exactly the reason why I preferred it where the method to transfer Pokémon was on the game/console ITSELF, like how it was with the Pal Park in gen 4 and the Poke Transfer Lab in gen 5.

Now, because one server is going offline, essentially five generations (3-7) will be completely inaccessible.
