Parking areas around doonbeg

Well folks! I'm heading to the Irish open next month from Kildare, I'm heading down the night before and staying in the back of my luxury 2008 VW Caddy (swanky I know). Any decent spots in or around the orange man's course that would suit me to lamp the van up for the night that I won't have a clamp on it to remove the next morning?

Edit; I'm not looking to park up as close to the course as possible, I'll be using the park and ride facilities there, even if it's a decent place along the coast 30mins away I could park up for the night is all I want, I'll head on then the next morning to the park and ride facilities.

Starting the hunt for random bits to pair with my Altezza

Recently picked up a low KMS 99 Toyota Altezza after a few years away from JDM cars, unbelievably clean car. I've started the hunt for silly items because I tend to get engrossed in these little things, I found this PS1 game which was never sold but only available in Netz Toyota in Japan in 1997 as a promotional tool before the Altezza was released in 1998. I also have a copy of the Hyper Rev Vol.43 magazine on the way from Japan which is specific to the Altezza showing all the tuning options at the time both body and engine wise.

I got the PS1 game this morning, goes well with the car since the cover car is also silver!

Jap import classic insurance

Can anyone point me in the direction of a company that will insure me on a 99 Toyota Altezza on a classic policy? I'm 31, 12 years NCB, never got a point, never got a fine, never had an accident.

Campion and Abbey Autoline say they can't insure me because it's a "high risk vehicle" and First Ireland won't give me a classic policy because I have a commercial insurance as my primary insurance policy and not a private car policy.

Kona Stinky for first bike?

Have a chance to pick up a Kona Stinky for what seems to be cheap (€200). I'm a complete beginner and will be doing downhills only, no real peddling involved as there is an uplift service. Is it a good or bad buy?

Americans enraged at how our fuel pumps work.

Just back from the Airport collecting a family member. I was in the Circle K putting in a bitta diesel and there was an American couple on the pump across from me, didn't pay any attention until I overheard the woman saying "this is such a stupid system".

I went over to see if I could help them figure it out. What they were confused about and what seemed to be slightly enraged about was you pick either card in the machine or cash in store on the pump. She said she wanted to pay by cash so she went into the shop to prepay for the fuel (like you would in the shtates) and was told you fill the car first and then pay in the shop. I found it quite funny and said "ah there wouldn't be as much fuel theft here as there would be over there I'd imagine so there's a bit more trust here plus there's CCTV pointed at every licence plate and the police can get the address off the car and then confront the person that stole the fuel if they did" I then went onto explain that the colours for the fuel pumps are opposite here that Diesel is black and "Gas" is green to which they rolled their eyes at in disbelief.

No thank you from either of them after I did offer them some assistance and give them the advice about the pumps being a different colour just a simple "okay" and turned around and started filling.

Quite funny seeing people getting engaged about a different country doing things different, I got a nice bit of a laugh out of it when I got back into my car lol

First road bike!

Got my first road bike this evening, second hand Da Vinci, just wondering if there's any more comfortable saddles for road bikes, something a bit nicer than the brick I'm sitting on currently 😂 I'm 110kg if anyone around the same weight has any opinions

Newbie Tyre update!

I asked what bigger tyres I should get for gravel on my Dual Sport 2,went from a 28c to a 45c and they're great, they fit perfectly too, the perks of having disc breaks I guess! Many thanks to those who pointed me in the right direction and gave me great advice!

Yes the tyre is on backwards in the picture but I changed it round after I seen it 😂

Payment plan ticket - no payment taken this month

Has anyone on a payment plan for a ticket not have a payment taken out this month? I had a final payment due on the 1st of July so it should've came out on Monday or Friday and it hasn't been taken as of yet. Support have said that it must've been due to no funds or payment details have changed but I had funds in my account and payment method is unchanged.

Gravel tyres for a hybrid bike

Hi all, got my first Trek bike today, Dual Sport 2 (not sure which generation but it does have front suspension) but I'm looking for opinions on what gravel tyres I should get for it as it has road tyres on now but I'll be using it on a mix of tarmac and gravel path ways, tyre size is 700x28c.

Eflow toll tag question?

On a spin up to Dublin and I switched my eflow tag over to my van and put my car on video recording, now I forgot to put the tag into the van before I left, will I still have to pay the toll manually online or in the shop or will it pick up the reg and charge me that way?
