my (transphobic) mom said i look cute. i say "yeah?" and she replies, "yeah, i love your hair and fashion lately, and.. i don't approve but even the beard looks good". apparently even transphobes can't deny i look better than ever now that i'm male passing lmaooo

two headmates that consider themselves one unit, is there a name for this?

new headmates appeared a few days ago from a fragment that is now 2 guys(?), but they feel like they are inseperable/almost the same being, very different from the rest of us. kinda like if a single spirit possessed two people at once is the best i can think to describe it. they present as a deer hunter + tracking dog in headspace, but they haven't been in front yet. i'm not sure if they'd have to co-front if they did or what. but we're just curious if there's any terminology out there for this!

Long-term homestead rental...Is this possible?

My partner and I are hoping to relocate to Western NC within the next couple of years. I'm a small business owner (online, so my work goes with me), and she's an administrator who would be looking for work wherever we move or working remotely as well. The dream is to rent a small cottage or guest house on someone's property where we'd be welcome to garden and keep a few meat rabbits. We would be looking for something long-term and affordable, from someone who values good stewardship and doesn't mind a couple who enjoys an unconventional homesteading lifestyle. We're chill and quiet, love animals, love to learn new skills, and love to help people out. I currently have a garden with fruit trees and herbs and veggies + a meat rabbit trio at my parents' place in the suburbs, so I have experience with this type of thing, but wanna gain a healthy independence from my folks without giving up the things I love for a crappy overpriced apartment in a city somewhere.

Has anyone ever found a setup like this? Are there specific organizations, groups, or communities where people make these kinds of arrangements? I'm not sure if this is unattainable, but I'm a die-hard optimist lol

My bunny taxidermy!

I raise rabbits for meat to feed my family and pets. I use every part of the animal. Anything we can't or don't eat directly (blood, organs, bones boiled for broth) becomes food for our garden, which in turn supplements the diet of our bunnies! And, of course, the hides and paws get to be taxidermy, while any failure-to-thrive babies become wet specimens. It's so rewarding to be part of the cycle of life and death.

Is this masculinization, or simply weight gain?

My parents have been extremely worried about my health due to me being on T. I've been on it for about two years, and they've been very upset because I've gained weight and they think I'm at risk for diabetes. I don't care at all about weight gain for aesthetic reasons. My weight fluctuates and I have a lot of fluid retention because of chronic conditions. But obviously I care about my health so it makes me super concerned when they talk about it like that and I don't want to neglect myself if there's really something to worry about!

However.. they are transphobic, so they could just be biased. We looked through old pics of me years before T to compare, and I honestly just thought my face and body looked more masc and square-ish now rather than like.. dangerously overweight, but they acted like I was delusional for not seeing it, so I dunno. Looking for kind but honest opinions from others who don't know me personally lol!

(Please ignore my very questionable choice in jeans several years ago.. 💀)

What gear/products do you wish existed?

I own an Etsy shop geared towards animal-adjacent art, namely taxidermy and animal masks. However, I've been trying to think up ideas for expanding my shop into more than just masks. Most of my customer-base are folks with animal-adjacent and alterhuman identities, so I want to gear things towards my community.

I posted a poll on my Tumblr that received a great response in favor of "heart-home wax melts" (scented wax melts inspired by different animal 'territories'/biomes, still pleasant, but more natural smelling than commercial options). But I'd love to hear other ideas as well!

So, other than masks, what sort of other gear or species-affirming products do you wish existed, or if it already exists, wish there were a greater variety of?

What do you think masks like these are worth?

Just curious! I constantly second-guess myself on the prices of my art lol

I'm so jealous of my cishet brother, it's breaking my heart...

I (transmasc) live with my parents and younger brother (18yo), as it's my only option right now. I'm physically and mentally disabled and rely on my parents for shelter. I love them all dearly and we have a lot of common interests and get along for the MOST part, but I'm just.. so depressed lately.

They're Catholic and truly believe that being trans or gay is not only condemned by the Church and the bible (I'm Christian and disagree), but some kind of "social contagion" targeting children.. for whatever reason. Despite being a grown 24 year old person, this is a constant talking point for them. Pride month sucked for me. My mom complained all month about "grooming" and "celebration of sexual activity" at her workplace. She knows I can't stand her speaking negatively about queerness to me or in my presence so she doesn't, but it's a small house and I can hear every conversation so it's unavoidable. Whenever I explain to her that it hurts me to hear her talk like that, she expresses empathy and says she will be more careful with her words, but then she just does it again.

Anyway.. to the main point of this vent. I was always close to my brother growing up and he was my best friend. I always took care of him and supported him, creatively, career/education-wise, or emotionally. He's been incredibly distant from me ever since I was outed 3 years ago. Our relationship has never been the same. He has a girlfriend and he's going to propose to her any day now. My parents have always been insanely supportive of them, and so have I. But lately, I'm just feeling so jealous of the support he gets. They will be at their wedding, have offered to let them live with us as newlyweds until they have their own place, allow them to go on long trips together alone with not a single qualm about it, and are generally just constantly doting on them and their relationship. Meanwhile, I have a long-distance partner that I've been with longer than he's been with his GF, and we want to get married as soon as we're able to be together permanently in a stable situation. My parents won't be at our wedding, won't support us living together, absolutely hate that I'm medically transitioning, refuse to refer to my partner by their preferred pronouns or even acknowledge them as being anything other than my "best friend"... It just sucks so much seeing the contrast now that my brother is finally proposing. It makes me sick with heartache and hurts that there's just nothing I can do about it.

Trans guy (?) questioning nonbinary. I don't know how to feel comfortable in myself.

Hey y'all! I've been identifying strictly as a trans man for 8 years now, following 2 years of gender questioning where I identified with various labels under the nonbinary umbrella. I was assigned female at birth and raised female but I'm intersex.

I've been on T for a little under 2 years. My family is unsupportive of my transition due to being die-hard Catholics, but they accept they can't do anything about my own medical choices. I live with them currently since I'm disabled and can't ever be fully independent. We have a good friendship other than the transition-related stuff, and my mom is one of my best friends. They still all call me by my birth name and she/her pronouns. I'm tolerant of that at this point since I know it just won't ever change. I hate my name even from a non-gender standpoint cause it just doesn't feel like me, but I mostly just get uncomfortable when they refer to me that way in front of other people for whom I was previously passing. In private it doesn't really bother me as much.

Anyway... over the past year or so, I've been feeling differently about my body and how I present. Before I started T, I hated my chest and curvy body, wanted to get top surgery ASAP, hated even the THOUGHT of wearing feminine clothing or being perceived as feminine in any way. Now, I dunno. I'm obsessed with women's fashion. I haven't been wearing it myself, but I love looking at it and imagining what it would be like if I was a girl. I don't feel bad about my chest anymore, I just hate how it looks in my mens clothes so I wish it was flat for that reason, but feel just fine with how it looks bare. I think my body looks really nice in general, just not in the clothes I usually like to wear lol. This might sound odd, but I often feel that if I were raised as male, I'd actually be a trans girl.

I dread the thought of detransitioning or being a girl again, though. I love my masculine voice, the ability to grow facial hair, body hair, being called a boy and he/him. However I also think feminine names are beautiful and she/her pronouns are sooo cute. I know names, pronouns, clothes, etc.. ≠ gender, but I'm not interested in any of those things as a boy. I'd only want to appear fem if I WAS a girl. Dressing in masculine clothes is what I want while being seen as a man. I have no interest in cross-dressing. But I have so many conflicting feelings. I'm just not sure what will make me happy and comfortable.. or if it's even possible to be comfortable in my own skin. This is the first time in 8 years I've questioned my gender. Which is something that can happen with HRT, I know.

LF: Sona design!

EDIT: CLOSED I found someone, thank you!

hiiii guys i'm looking for someone to help me design a sona for myself! i don't have a lot of cash rn so preferably $50 or under!

i have kind of a rough idea of what i want. since i'm an anubis devotee, i'm thinking of a reaper "puppy" (young adult). basically, a human body and black jackal head like anubis. maybe one ear flopped over like puppies have sometimes, just to show that he's young and immature lol. he should have modern clothes but still thematically ancient egyptian. maybe some cool shaped top surgery scars, and a big scythe!

if you'd like to do this, please comment below with examples and a price quote :] thank you! 𓃥
