I was a bit confused as to why there weren’t as many VHS tapes in Chapter 5 as there were in the previous ones. Most of the secrets were kept in cassettes. Was it because software limitations only allowed a certain amount of video files to be added and they had to improvise after Miss Gracie’s videos took up most of the space?

Well to compensate for this, I decided to photoshop some images of what these cassettes would’ve shown if they actually were VHS tapes. I decided to use the overlay from Chapter 3 since the one from the more recent Chapter 4 looked so cheap and stupid.

Sisters - I decided to show Kissy’s right hand since she’s in this (obviously) and it’s also the one that’s eventually grafted onto the Prototype. It’s also a callback to how Chapter 1’s first tape showed Huggy’s arm.

Security Log - I know Giblet probably didn’t even make his cane until LONG after his wrongsides were outed, But I honestly couldn’t think of anything else to add.

The Case - Yeah…

Focus Test: The Wrongside Outimals - I tried to find a model of Blanky on Garry’s Mod and Sketchfab, but all of them always had them standing up, including the examine option from the game itself! So I had to use their official render image.

Pierre/Ritterman, August '95 - Since they started talking about Rich, the head of shipping, at the beginning, I figured it only made sense if I showed a crate like in Chapter 4. I had to warp it a bit though since the screenshot I used showed it at a weird angle.

Field Test: Chum Chompkins - I don’t need to elaborate on how obsessed Mob is with hand imagery, lol.

‘96 ISOLATION DAY 122 - I was gonna have the hair get cut off by shading at the end, but then I remembered her hair glowed in the dark, so it wouldn’t make sense.

A Just End - As much as I hate Baba and the other Nightmare Cringers, if Hoppy got to take up the screen in her Bigger Bodies’ debut tape, so should Baba. I just decided to use her charm from a plush though. I don’t wanna use another fan’s model or something. It wouldn’t feel right.

Elliot & the Prototype - I almost wanted to have a super dark shot of the Prototype’s head with his face completely coated in darkness, but I couldn't figure out how to make it work. I also realized that, even though you find the cassette after you’ve already seen him in full, it would be nice if only his arm was visible one last time.

Interrogation - Since you find the cassette near the Grand Stitchery AND because I dig the arm imagery, I definitely had to have one of the big stitching claws in it. I’m not implying that I believe the Prototype used it to torture whoever he was interrogating, I just think it would fit.

Postable art productivity has been kind of slow lately. So here’s something unfinished from two years ago that I decided to scrap. 😋
