Any advice is appreciated: 1965 Ford Mustang that has constant gas smell that burns eyes when driving.

Hey everybody, I recently purchased this beauty and noticed a problem, I’ve never had before… The car has a constant gas smell when off, idle or being driven. I’ve noticed every time I drive her, my eyes burn for a couple days afterwords as well. What could be happening here? Also she’s hard to turn over, usually 3-4 times when not being driven for a couple days, and I feel like she is using excessive gas. I know 1965 mustangs aren’t know for their fuel efficiency but burning a half a tank in 30 miles seem a bit much. Any tips, information or advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure you're not using controller load

Obviously depends on your setup, but when my battery was originally installed, my hot water was still going via controlled load directly and not via the battery. Seems this is using 4-6kwh per day.
Recently had this moved to the battery and it should a large chunk off bill..

My private box project (scroll for more)

Private box project, in Australia, original GR box.. yes this is fine to use as a box here, Auspost boxes don't look like this :)
Posties have successfully been using it for a week now, it's had nice comments

How strict are letter box dimension rules (eg, min 230mm opening)..

I've got a vintage letter box I'd like to use, it's 20.5cm wide for the opening.. and auspost seems to require 23cm, however going around the local area, loads seem to be smaller than this.
I'm on good terms with my postie, but just wondering if auspost even care about this?
It can be opened easily to allow larger letter inside if nothing fits, and small parcels etc.

Maybe I'm just over thinking it 😅

GR resto in progress

First picture is just after a light wire brush (didn’t want to remove too much old paint), plus primed.
Quite a bit to fix inside as hinges are pretty much all gone.

Does anyone know what the slot and box behind it is for?

The slot is normally covered by the sign on the front, so not accessible normally..

Enfield 8000 EV (one of 120)

Spotted in my local EV shop: "Powered by an 8 bhp (6 kW) electric motor and lead-acid batteries, the car has a top speed of around 48 mph (77 km/h) and a range of around 40 miles (64 km)"

I made a custom CANBUS display for my EV Haflinger (just SOC and other things from BMS)

Nothing too complex, ESP32 + MCP2515, + a small OLED SPI display. Also publishes data back via wifi when available.
