What are examples of movie productions that went terribly but the movie ended up being a success?

Could be things like a movie going way over budget, constant reshoots, replacing the director halfway through production, bringing in a new writer to rewrite the script, co-stars not getting along, etc.

Even though the production was a complete mess, the movie still ended up being a box office hit and/or critically acclaimed.

What are some good examples?

Need advice on rental car coverage

Looking for some advice to make sure I understand my rental car coverage correctly.

I rented a car through Enterprise for a two week trip in Croatia and Slovenia. I declined all the add-ons that were pushed on to me.

I paid with my Venture X, so that means I have CDW coverage if my car is damaged.

The car rental comes with Supplementary Liability Insurance, and as is stated in Enterprises contract:

> Supplementary Liability Insurance - Third Party Insurance is required by law and free of charge. Coverage limits for third party bodily injury or death cover up to 2,000,000 EUR and for third party property damage, 150,000 EUR.

So between the CDW and included Supplementary Liability Insurance (SLI) I should be pretty covered, correct? Damage to my car from an accident, damage to a third party car, or injury to a third party, I’m covered…right?

The lady at the Enterprise counter was really pushing hard to the ”extra” insurance add-ons and was really giving me all sorts of horror stories of what will happen if I don’t get it. She would not take no for an answer when I told her about the CDW and included SLI…altho she finally relented.

Am I missing out on something? Or was the sales person just trying to make a commission?

Need opinion on rental car insurance add-ons

I also have CDW coverage through my credit card I booked the rental with.

So between the CDW and included Supplementary Liability Insurance (SLI) I should be pretty covered, correct? I may not have flat tire or windshield repair coverage, but for the major stuff: damage to my car from an accident, damage to a third party car, or injury to a third party, I’m covered…right?

ELI5: The different versions/translations of The Odyssey book.

I am looking to read The Odyssey before the Christopher Nolan movie comes out in a few weeks.

I understand there are multiple variations/versions/translations of the book by different authors.

I'm wondering the reason for this. How does one translation of the story differ from others? Are they all using the same source or different ones? Where do these sources come from?

What was the tastiest‑looking food item in the show?

Not talking about a whole Sunday spread, I mean one specific dish, sandwich, dessert, appetizer....whatever.

Carmela’s baked ziti, Artie's rabbit, grilled cheese off the radiator, the gabagool/provolone/vinegar peppers sandwich Tony throws away.

What's your pick?

Is $400 for a used SVS SB-2000 (non-pro) subwoofer a good deal?

Located in Ohio, USA.

Someone near me is selling a pair of SVS SB 2000 (non-pro) subwoofers for $800. At $400 a piece, is that a good deal?

I would really just want one of the subs. Or could I do better for $400?

Was it ever revealed what Albert Belle yelled at Hannah Storm?

I was reading Zach Meisel's book about the 1995 Cleveland Indians.

Albert Belle getting fined for yelling at Hannah Storm before Game 3 of the World Series was mentioned.

I remember this happening and all the headlines regarding it (I was only 10 at the time), but I've never come across what was actually said that Belle was fined $50,000 for...which is a huge amount of money for a fine, especially in 1995.

I imagine there had to have been some audio or video of it. The only thing that's ever mentioned around the incident is usually some form of the phrase "Belle's verbal tirade at Hannah Storm".

TIL that in 1992, Oakland A's closer Dennis Eckersley won both the AL CY Young and AL MVP

It's extremely rare, but I can understand how a closer could win AL CY Young (I thought Emmanuel Clase should've won it in 2024).

But for a closer to also win AL MVP...that blows my mind.

Eckersley's 1992 stats:

W L ERA WHIP G GS SV IP H HR BB SO
7 1 1.91 0.913 69 0 51 80.0 62 5 11 93

Here's a link to the AL MVP voting

And here is the AL CY Young voting

Trying to understand this app

I have a few questions that I’m confused about in trying to understand how this app works.

Would really appreciate if someone could break things down for me

  1. How does the Debrid account come into play? If I did NOT link my Debrid account to Eclipse, would the app still work? Would I be able to play songs?

My understanding is the Debrid account is essentially the cached database of songs that Eclipse will use as its source. And if I did not have it linked to Eclipse then the app wouldn’t find any files to play? So a Debrid account IS necessary for this app to work. Is that correct?

  1. I’m trying to understand the purpose of add-ons. Are they necessary to install in order to play music in Eclipse? I assume so because when I did not have any added, no music would play for me. I would click a song but nothing would play.

I added the SpotiFLAC add-on in Eclipse and only then did songs start playing. But I don’t understand what or why adding that add-on made things start working?

What is this weed in my lawn and how do I get rid of it? (Ohio, USA)

This particular weed is only in a small section of my yard, but it’s there ever year.

I follow the Scott’s 4-Step program but it never does anything to get rid of these.

What is this weed and what’s the best way to get rid of it?

Next month I will be staying in the Union Square area for a week. I'd like to go on a few runs 6-10 miles in distance.

I'm an out of towner so I'm not familiar with the city at all.

I would prefer routes that aren't super hilly (if that's possible) and away from traffic/street crossings as much as possible.

What would you all recommend?

Does Strava or AllTrails or MyWorkoutBuddy have good trails to follow?
