I regret one thing that I missed out on in college

I’ve never been to the old town bars.

Yes I drink, went to Denver bars and bars in the other cities I’ve lived in since graduating. I just went to a lot more concerts in college… My few friends in my grade didnt drink out at bars, senior year class/group project friends wouldn’t really go with me (I only asked one group and it never happened).

Now that I’m 2 years out, whenever I meet an alum and they say “ahh lucky joes” I just nod my head at them, then on the inside I crumble briefly as I’m reminded that I missed out on a big piece of FoCo.

Can’t imagine I’m alone on this here… but this has been bottled up with me for some time and I just had to post about it.

I have a phobia of certain comedians

I got into watching all the popular stand ups post covid, due to me being in my 20s. Quickly discovered more and more comics as they all have each other on their podcasts.

It’s really hard for me to hate comics but for some reason these 3 comics just bother me anytime I see them:

Duncan trussel, Joe Derosa, and Luis J Gomez

All 3 have said things on pods that bothered me and for some reason I just couldn’t shake off. Sure, that sounds super dumb, but any time I come across those 3 on YouTube, I get a spike in anxiety as I mark “not interested” and I get bothered whenever they go on podcasts I follow.

Is there a website where I can publicly shit on a company for a bad interviewer?

Title. I had a rude interviewer recently and it’s one of those stressful days where I want to shame that company to oblivion. Reason I ask is Glassdoor posts requires approval from that company’s admin team.

Is there a website where I can talk shit about a company for being rude during the interview?

Title. If this isn’t already a thing I’m gonna invent an app for it.

Sure negative themes won’t be good for people’s mental health on it, but neither is Instagram.

Is this lucrative idea?

Anyone ever started an app? Either designing a game or an educational app

I’ve made a website/blog before but thought with certain niches people might find the app more interesting than searching a website.

Have any of you made an app before? Did you hire a developer or do it yourself?

Credentials to sell on whatsnot

I saw online that it’s best to ass social media in the application to sell on whatsnot, but I don’t have a big public instagram and I deleted TikTok. Can I use my LinkedIn to prove I’m a human?

So the question is, if I don’t attach any socials to my application, can I be approved to sell?

Instagram won’t let me make an account without doing the selfie + ID

Anyone else seeing issues with this? I made a meme page and had a successful reel and then boom insta deactivated me. Asks for my ID, I upload it, then they still decline me and delete my account.

Now I can’t even make an Instagram with a different email without having to do the selfie thing?? Anyone else mad about this?

Recruiter ghosted my interview

A big media company is hiring entry sales people, the recruiter emails me “you got the interview, schedule on calendly” I’m excited

Monday: he doesn’t call?? So I email him to follow up, no answer, then I reschedule on calendly to Tuesday because maybe he’s sick.

Tuesday: doesn’t call… I try calling him, no answer.

Do you think this guy is ghosting or is just on PTO and did not set up an automated message?

How do I get back at him? do I try to find his boss on LinkedIn or leave a bad review on Glassdoor?

Dudes in their 20s don’t mind their business - I’m being heckled by strangers WHO ARENT TWEAKERS

M24, when I’m walking alone sometimes I’ve had 3 scenarios where post-college age dudes in groups are walk-by heckling me on the sidewalks

I’ve heard a few “he’s gonna get off his phone not paying attention while walking” (it was a wide open sidewalk and I gave my space, they could’ve passed me if needed)

Once at night near NYU: “spotted the transplant”

Recent, me eating a slice against a wall: “it’s called friends”

Note:none of these people are truly looking me in the eyes, but nobody else around me.

- NOW the bottom 2 scenarios could’ve been in my head, maybe they weren’t talking about me, but there was nobody else around?
Either way, I know how shit works here I’m not staring or walking slow, so idk -is this all in my head I’m a naturally nervous guy but I love the big city life :)

I have 2 weeks to get a job

My lease expires in two weeks and left my last job about 2 months ago hoping to switch industries and after 1000 interviews still have not found anything

I’m looking for retail or grocery store at this point just so I can stay here. Any advice on how to “knock on doors” for jobs? I don’t wanna do resturaunt or coffee because I have a nut allergy.

Nut allergy & coffee shops

If you’re allergic to tree nuts, what do you do when it comes to coffee shops?

I’m in a big city with 1000 coffee shops and I fear cross contamination because all of them use like hazelnut milk in the blender from the last guys order, or the banana bread on display has nuts and they didn’t change gloves, etc.

Now i just order either a cold brew or iced coffee, but who else out there has an allergy that can speak on this?

Much luv

What is a “media planner”

It seems to be the most popular title for agencies and some in house marketing jobs, and I want to go for it but at the same time, do i? It sounds like all the channels mixed together or I guess it’s about choosing which channel that marketing asset goes to?

I keep finding loose definitions of what that job is.

Either way,
If you are a media planner, can you define what your job is?
(Especially if you’re at a big agency)

Much appreciated :)

I have 1 month to find a job

I’m renting a room for a month while I’m interviewing around, and have an NYC address to use.

I went to college and have corporate experience, but that’s just turning into interview after interview, but while I’m looking for that role I’m trying to find a part time job (or two) so that I can stay.

Do I just walk into retail shops and small bizs and ask “are you hiring?” Or is indeed a better use for the part time jobs?

Any tips from previous transplants help 😁

I remember this one contestant

This contestant appeared twice in 2023 and it’s the hardest to watch, in my opinion maybe the most entertaining bomb I’ve ever seen on the show (of recent times)

The contestant was a short fat dude with glasses, not funny at all, and somehow Tony didn’t recognize him the second time (read details below):

The 1st appearance: the comic bombed, and within one minute of the interview he kept interrupting Tony while he was trying to ask questions and mumbled “whatever fuck you guys” or something along the lines of that, and Tony immediately went “you know what get the fuck out of here do not sign up again” very awkwardly left

Appearing again months later…

2nd appearance: Tony doesn’t recognize him, bombs again, it’s the RIC FLAIR episode (loaded table as well, Shane, Ari, Mark…) and during the interview Ric Flair said some stuff about how he will never make fun of someone performing and didn’t understand how the format of the show was make fun of the people that bomb on stage.

Now this wasn’t the part where Ric gave the sad speech about his son ODing and walked off, but this was earlier and obviously the first straw in that show where Ric Flair started to get mad at what the roasting part of the show was about.

Do yall remember this?
