1. I lost PTZ control. The option just doesn't exist.

2. Quality doesn't stick. Setting clear/high or balanced/mid only lasts for as long as you're viewing the camera. It will always revert back to fluent/low forcing you to set quality every single time. I remember this was a common issue years ago but they eventually fixed it. Seems like the issue is back.

Just curious how common it is to use EXPO.

I need to RMA a 9600x and I suspect the reason for failure is an issue with the memory controller, probably due to EXPO (hangs on VGA LED during cold boot, hangs on CPU LED when waking from sleep, only solution is reboot). Does AMD reject warranty for EXPO? I did mention I "disabled expo" as part of troubleshooting before realizing that they might reject it since it's technically OC, but they accepted the RMA.

I have a UPS for my NAS but not my PC. Should I get one? I just use a decent APC surge protector.

It's for a non-gaming office PC.

I could just use the integrated graphics, but I'm curious to know what a good dedicated GPU would be for the lowest cost? Even just 1% better than the integrated. But I don't care for any high end card like a 9070xt or 5070ti. Even 5070 or 9070 are probably overkill.

Previously, I could set up individual accounts under "user management".. so I'll have my main admin account and then a second user account that only has access to viewing the cams which I use for other household members and things like Home Assistant.

This seems to have been removed. I can only share via the "share device" option which doesn't seem to work with local IPs and requires UID.

Am I missing something or did Reolink just ruin a good thing, as usual?

Why do they hate local users so much? Every firmware update seems to remove core local-only features that got me into the Roolink system in the first place.

I'm not a fan of AIO and just replaced my AIO with air using the DR5. But that was for a 9700x. I'm looking to get one for my 9800x3d as well.

Edit: Everyone seems to think the DR5 is dual. It's single. Dark Rock Pro 5 is dual.

I've enabled the "Access other apps and services on this device" option, disabled my adblocker, and tried different browsers.

I don't know what to do.

So I've been having an issue with my PC I built last year. Everything pointed to motherboard, so I bought a new one and replaced it.

It wasn't the motherboard.

Thing is, I really like this board and don't want to return it.

So what do I do with the old one?

Sell it? Or build out a PC?

I have an old GPU, SSD, fans, coolers, PSU.

I'd have to still buy a CPU and RAM.

The CPU is no problem. I could just upgrade mine and put my current one in the old board.

It's the RAM that's getting me. The same kit I spent $160 on last year is going for nearly $1000 now.

What would you do in this situation? Build out a second PC or just sell the board (Asus X670e-e)?

What exactly does this do?

Does low attenuate the signal while high adds gain?

Or do both low and medium attenuate while high sends the full, unaltered signal?

I think I'm gonna get rid of my Corsair AIO and go back to air.

I feel like my old air cooler actually performed better, was quieter, and yet still gave off less ambient heat (I haven't actually measured this but just going by how my room feels).

Plus I'm so sick of this Corsair iCUE software.

A couple of my Nest Protects are reaching end of life soon and I need to find a viable replacement.

I was thinking of just going with the First Alert or whatever Google is recommending now that they've discontinued the Protect.

But as someone DEEP into the UniFi ecosystem, I'm quite interested in this product.

Do we know if it has a "heads up" feature similar to the protect? What about location notification as well?

Something like "heads up, there's smoke in the kitchen" being broadcasted to all the smoke detectors in the house.

I have about 60 different IoT and media devices constantly connected to their manufacturer's cloud servers.

Thanks to HA, I was able to block about 55 of them from WAN, making them local-only.

The only way to access these devices now is through HA and if I want remote access I use my VPN.

Not only are all the devices more responsive now, I no longer have to worry about 10 different cloud services, 10 different logins, and 10 different apps. Everything is managed from one single app.

The one major thing still holding me back are my Google Nest speakers for voice control. I have it set up to relay commands to HA but it still goes through Google servers to do that.

Next project: local voice assistant.

I hate having to hover over 3452243 different icons to find the server I'm looking for. This is so stupid.

So many times I just exit discord because I get frustrated/annoyed trying to find a server I don't even remember the name of.

is there a way to track location in home assistant similar to google maps timeline where i can see everywhere I went including the paths I took?

I have location enabled to the point where I can see my current location on a map including the history of every GPS update (which I think happens every 5-15 minutes if coordinates change? I'm not too sure how the updating works) but I want to be able to see the entire history on a map instead.
