Best Implants for Destroyer?

Hi all,

I've started playing Destroyer a lot more than the other shells lately. His movement feels amazing and he's got so much utility.

That being said, I'm having a hard time finding good implants to pair with him. Most of the ones I come across don't give heat capacity, which I feel is the best stat to put on him. If they give heat capacity like The First Law does, I don't feel like it's as strong on him though.

I don't know, I don't think Destroyer has much benefit from The First Law aside from Heat Capacity gain, so I wanted to see what implants everyone has been running on him since I'm late to the Destroyer party.

“Exfilling with loot doesn’t feel rewarding”

Is what my friend told me to explain why he stopped playing.

He said he dies way too often, and that even when he does exfil with loot, it doesn’t feel rewarding.

I don’t understand this perspective, but he couldn’t really articulate why he felt this way.

I’m sure he’s not the only one that feels this way, so I wanted to get a discussion going about this. Does exfilling feel rewarding to you guys? Do you feel like you die too often? My friend has stuck with games like Titanfall 2 and Quake that are small player bases of people that are pros at those games, so I was surprised to hear he had a problem losing to really good people all the time.

What do you guys think? I’m still playing and think exfilling feels good after a successful run, but I do understand dying too much. I’m good at PvP but I’m not top 1% and I lose often

Impact Ping on Sentinel

...Seems pretty useful, if it works with his snare mines.

Has anyone tested this before? I've yet to have someone trip a snare while having this equipped.

Advice for Obtaining Profiteer?

Hi all,

I've played a lot of Marathon since launch. Last season, getting Profiteer sounded cool, but was never realistic for me. my vault was stuck around 300k in value with my wallet always hovering 250.

This season, I've gotten a little better, and more confident. I want to push to get that big 1 mill.

That being said, I am starting to see my value plateau, so I had some questions for those who have gotten Profiteer.

  1. Does your vault's value contribute to the "1 million" you're expected to reach for the title?
  2. I've got 350k in my wallet this season, and 450k currently in my vault, putting me at ~800k total. But I'm starting to wonder how I can push for that higher value. Do I just look for valuables to up the creds in my wallet, or are there things I ought to be feeding to Nona/selling to make room for valuable gear?

Trying to get Profiteer has added extra fun to the game for me, especially since I'm doing this solo.

Edit: Almost exactly 24 hours later, I managed to get the final 150k I needed thanks to some decent Cryo runs and farming Outpost on Rook by doing armories! Thanks for the advice guys

Content for Improving in PvP?

Just curious what everyone's favorite content creators are for learning how to improve in PvP. Primarily, I mean people who have educational content on PvP and tactics (especially if they have content on PvP in Cryo specifically), or people with full gameplays.

I've been watching a lot of Lucid lately, and he's amazing. But I'm looking for more creators out there, especially ones that focus on helping people improve their PvP. I feel confident in most fights, but especially when it becomes a 2v3 I don't know how to handle those situations when teams push all 3 together at the same time and rush you down.

What mind games still work on people?

I've played Shaco ever since I started playing League back just before Kindred's release.

But overtime, it's easy to kind of just go into autopilot mode and forget the mind games as Shaco. Or, perform the very simple ones such as having the clone run away while you auto the enemy.

Because of this, it made me wonder if there are any new mind games you guys have come up with concerning boxes, Q, or clone

Hoping for improvement to solos in the future

I don’t want my post to come off as another post being like “I have X amount of hours and now I’m done with the game”, I’m more so just trying to figure out what I can do to get more enjoyment out of the game.

My friends have left the game, so I usually play solos. But solos have become less fun with time, as it feels like there’s no point in going anywhere other than Outpost unless you have keys.

“But wait!” You say, “Why don’t you just do crew fill?”

For me, interacting with strangers just annoys me and leaves me socially tired. I don’t know, I don’t want to interact with strangers over voice chat every match. But I’d have to if I did crew fill. I just strongly prefer solos.

Marathon is one of my favorite games of all time, but I need them to do something to make solos feel more polished. I might just need a break from the game, but I’m excited for season 3

How're we feeling about the KKV now..

With the buffs today, I wanted to gauge how everyone felt about the gun now if you've tested it out.

I've tried it, it's alright. The mag buffs feel great for it, but it can still feel like a bit of a peashooter.

I know it's not even out yet, but there's something I appreciate about this game.

Unlike many games in this multiplayer co-op genre, I feel like you're always rushed and told to do your best. I know that's really vague, it's just the vibe I've been getting lately.

With Big Walk, it feels like there's going to be an emphasis on taking your time, goofing around, and taking moments to just enjoy the environment they've crafted. I really admire that, as I think it's really good to just slow down and appreciate something sometimes.

Recon Ult Rework Concept

Hi there!

I loved Recon in Season 1, and I think her design is super cool. However, since everyone has been discussing how mandatory she is for Cryo and how strong she is even outside of Cryo, I thought I’d just throw out this idea I had for an ult rework.

Now, there’s no guarantee this fixes her strength in Cryo completely. However, it does make it less consistent and easy to just beeline to other teams.

Essentially, Recon needs her change from S1 reverted. She can no longer differentiate runners from UESC.

Then, instead of leaving it like that, you add a small addition to the HUD that pops up during her ult: A counter, which tells the Recon how many players her scan has hit. If you want to take it a step further and make her more accessible for teams with no mics, you can add this counter to the Recon’s teammate’s HUDs as well.

This rewards the recon for their game/map knowledge, without being a more direct version of just straight up wallhacks. It offers more counterplay (Jammers could even work by either not counting said player that’s using a jammer on the Recon’s HUD or by making it so the Recon can’t see the player counter), and makes for more interesting decision making for both Recons and enemy players.

VB Armory Changes

Okay these are pretty cool, I actually wasn't expecting much to change for VB in the following weeks. They're not like mind-blowing or anything, but it is nice to see some extra upgrades being brought to VB. Blue kit was beginning to get boring.

Honestly, it's still kind of boring to do it over and over on repeat in order to grind for said upgrades, but I think the upgrades themselves are a step in the right direction in terms of improving the overall feel of VB. I've been starting to think that there just needs to be more methods/systems in place that can offer high tier gear for the regular extraction mode. As in, instead of the odd faction upgrade giving something for free or finding something in-raid, there ought to be other ways to earn gear as well that maybe aren't as big of a challenge or are more chill than usual. I dunno. Someone will probably dunk on me because it'd be a bad idea for one reason or another. But, after returning to DaD and playing more VB I'm convinced this would make Marathon more approachable.

If you don't know, the new upgrades available as of today:

[T1] Kit Upgrades:

  • Superior Weapons: 800 [T1] Data
  • Superior Cores: 650 [T1] Data
  • Panacea Kits x3: 650 [T1] Data

[T2] Kit Upgrades:

  • Superior Backpack: 120 [T2] Data
  • Prestige Backpack: 150 [T2] Data
  • Security Tag [+3]: 75 [T2] Data
  • Battery [+3]: 75 [T2] Data
  • Bubble Shield: 75 [T2] Data

POV You're on Narsh. You bringing a thermal, or a darksight scope?

Thought this would be interesting to ask. Would you rather bring guns with thermals or darksight? Does it depend on anything for you, like what guns you're using?

How long will P stick with Dark and Darker?

I'd be super curious to see the nut take on High Roller, bosses, and everything else in Dark and Darker and make more Dark and Darker content! He seems to really like the game, but I can't really tell how long he'll stick with it.

He reminded me how cool this game is :) so glad to finally be returning since it's been so long since I played.

Consistent Ways to get Anti-Virus on Cryo?

I've taken on the task of trying to enter and fully loot and exfil Vault 6 in VB.

There's one small issue however...I can't seem to find enough Anti-Virus!

I also have problems with batteries since you need enough for the first 2 vaults you do before Vault 6, however, Anti-Virus is the true issue here. I feel like I end up needing like 4-6 Anti-Virus in order to be able to have enough time to disarm the security, find all the correct terminals for unlocking the vault, and then actually looting the place.

The issue is, beyond the upgrade that gives you a measly one anti-virus, I can't seem to find more than maybe 1-2 on the map.

I check foot lockers, strongboxes, folios, commanders, regular bots...I barely ever find any! If there's some place I'm not thinking of checking that I ought to, I figured someone on here would know. Thanks so much

Uh...I own the things from my VB kit somehow?

https://preview.redd.it/01wq148v8nfh1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4837fd52152437310bdbb14b379b232ee05ce8ee

I don't really get what's going on. I didn't throw together this build...you can tell bc there's a Security Tag in it. But I just sold the Scar from my kit?

I logged in, and last thing I was doing was VB and now I look at my loadout and I'm able to just own and sell everything in it.

Tragic Way to Discover The Gold Circuit Breaker Bug

Last night, I did crew fill. Me and my team cleared out the final other team after that team had wiped the rest of the lobby. We struck big, because there was tons of loot and also keys for vaults 3-5 just all over the place.

It was my first time doing 4 and 5, and we managed to do both! The problem though, is I couldn't loot my Free Tail 😢 CB's my fav weapon so I was super bummed. Still, I got Subroutines 4 and 5 so that was great. All I have left is 6!
