I just created r/NoPhysicalNoMoney

Hi people.

In light of the news that came out this week, about PlayStation planning to completely ditch physical games in 2028, I think it's time we unite forces. Film collectors, video game collectors, music collectors, etc. A lot of us are on the same boat. We care about how we spend our money, and we want to stand by our consumer rights.

So I created r/NoPhysicalNoMoney, to unite our forces behind one big bold statement : if corporations want to depossess us from what we care about, then we're not going to give in to their tactics, and we are ready to pull our money altogether. In the hope we gain a significant traction towards this cause, I invite you to join and participate in this new subreddit. Make our concerns be heard! Consumers truly have the upper hand, we just need to be aware of the leverage that we have.

I also want to thank the moderators of r/boutiquebluray for allowing me to make this announcement here. Personally, it's my first time starting and moderating a subreddit, but I truly care about this cause, so I want to commit to it wisely. And in the meantime, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Thank you all, and be well

👋 Welcome to r/NoPhysicalNoMoney - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

Hey everyone! I'm u/ifilgood, a founding moderator of r/NoPhysicalNoMoney.

This is our new home for all things related to active preservation of physical media, whether it is music, films or video games. If that means boycotting streaming platforms and other digital markets, then so be it!

This community's goal is to make our preoccupations heard by corporations. Consumers have the upper hand, because consumers have the money. We just need to be aware of our power. We share. We recycle. We care.

This community is also supportive of artists and industry workers. Your creation is important, and we are with you.

What to Post
Post anything that you think the community would find interesting, helpful, or inspiring. What actions have you done for the benefit of consumers? What industries need to be supported? What legal battles have been won by consumers and/or artists against corporations that want to keep the leverage to themselves? Let us know. Open the discussion.

Community Vibe
We're all about being friendly, constructive, and inclusive. Let's build a space where everyone feels comfortable sharing and connecting.
