It's common in horror movies where a pursuer or threat in the background looks unnervingly close to the character in the foreground. it creates a sense of being "boxed in" or trapped, since the compressed space feels smaller and more claustrophobic.

its often paired with a slow dolly/track where the camera moves while the compression stays extreme, which warps depth even further and feels disorienting.

Every time one of these "kids say the darndest things" tweets pops up I feel my brain short circuit into pure suspicion. "My 2yo saw a peacock and called it a chicken butterfly." Cute. Adorable. Also probably fabricated from thin air by an adult who has never actually spent time around a toddler.

i mean real kid logic is weirder and dumber than these posts. A real toddler calls a peacock "big bird angry" or just screams and points. These quote-unquote quotes are always suspiciously poetic, suspiciously well-structured, suspiciously like something a copywriter would come up with if you asked them to imagine what a cute kid might say. It's not a kid's brain, it's an adult's idea of a kid's brain, filtered through "what would get the most likes."

And it works. Thousands of retweets, millions of views, because everyone wants to believe in a world where toddlers are little poets instead of tiny chaos goblins who eat crayons and scream about the wrong colored cup.

Anyone else immediately clock these as engagement bait or am I just built different (cynical)?

Assume there are just enough trucks to hold all the bottles. The answer is x/y. The purpose of the question is to get children thinking about rates in the abstract. Just solve the damn question, little guy!

I mean firearm safety rule No 1 is treat every gun as loaded until you personally clear it. Cutting a homemade firearm with a chop saw in front of a crowd at a ‘Sí al Desarme, Sí a la Paz’ event is pure negligence.
