Can I travel outside the EU with a valid French Titre de Séjour?

Hi everyone, I’m a non-EU citizen from Asia currently living in France with a valid, physical titre de séjour (residence permit).

I’m planning a trip soon that involves traveling outside of the Schengen Area, and I want to double-check my re-entry requirements before booking my flights.

Since I already hold the physical residence card, am I correct in assuming that this document is sufficient for me to travel freely and re-enter France without needing to apply for a separate Schengen visa?

Are there any specific travel restrictions or duration limits I should be aware of regarding time spent outside of France while my permit is active?

I just want to be 100% certain that my card acts as my primary travel authorization before I finalize my plans.

Any advice or confirmation from others who have traveled with their French residence permit would be greatly appreciated!

how should I approach conversion, marriage, and the question of changing my name?

I’m a 32M French guy and I’ve been dating my 27F girlfriend for 3 years. I’m planning to propose this October when I go to Morocco to meet her parents.

She’s Muslim and I’m atheist. I’m wondering how religion might affect marriage and whether I would need to convert to Islam.

If I did convert, would I also need to change my name to a Muslim name?

I’d appreciate advice from Muslims, atheists, or anyone who has experience with an interfaith relationship. Thanks!

Living abroad

I moved abroad to marry my husband, leaving behind my job, my friends, my family, and the life I had built for myself. I thought I was starting a new chapter, and I was willing to sacrifice everything because I believed in love and in our future together.

Since moving here, I’ve tried so hard to build a new life. I started learning a new language, tried to make friends, tried to understand a new culture, and tried to find my place. But honestly, I feel like I failed. I haven’t been able to make real friends, I still struggle with the language, and most days I feel incredibly lonely. Sometimes I look back at my old life and wonder what happened to the person I used to be. I had a job, friends, family, independence, and a sense of belonging.

Now I feel like I left everything behind and still somehow don’t belong here. I feel defeated, lost, rejected, and like I’ve failed at building the life I came here for. The hardest part is that I feel guilty for feeling this way because I chose this life and I love my husband. But loving someone doesn’t make loneliness disappear. I miss my family, my friends, my old life, and the person I used to be.

I don’t know if anyone else has experienced this, but sometimes I just need to hear that I’m not the only one who feels this way, and that maybe I haven’t actually failed maybe I’m just struggling to find myself again in a completely new life.

I plan for a baby

I’m a 35-year-old woman and I’m planning to have a baby in about two years. I want to start preparing now so I can improve my chances of having a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. I would like to know what steps I should take during this preparation period, including how to support my fertility, overall health, and emotional well-being. What medical checkups, fertility assessments, or health screenings should I consider before trying to conceive? Are there specific vitamins or supplements, such as folic acid, that I should start taking? I would also appreciate guidance on nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management, weight, lifestyle changes, and any precautions I should consider because I will be trying to conceive in my late 30s. I want to create a practical two-year plan to prepare my body and mind for pregnancy.

Spiderman: Brand New Day by Destin Cretton

I watched it yesterday, and overall I think it’s a good movie. The visuals and performances were solid, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing.

For me, the biggest issue was the storyline. It felt like it never fully came together, and I was expecting a stronger narrative to tie everything together.

Also, was it just me, or was there way too much Samsung marketing? It got so obvious at times that it pulled me out of the movie.

Overall, I’d still recommend watching it, but I don’t think it lived up to its full potential.

The fire in Brignoles

It’s strange how quickly everything can change. A fire broke out not far from home, and for days the smell of smoke lingered in the air while helicopters and firefighting planes flew overhead. Seeing the hills we know covered in smoke was heartbreaking. Thankfully, the fire is now under control, but it has left behind thousands of hectares of burned land and damaged homes. It’s a reminder of how fragile nature is, and how grateful we are to the firefighters who worked tirelessly to protect our communities.

Titre de Séjour

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice and information regarding the timeline for my titre de séjour application.
I submitted my application in November 2025 and have been waiting for an update.

I recently received a convocation for fingerprint registration (prise d’empreintes) scheduled for August 14. I understand that the process can vary depending on the prefecture, but I would like to know what usually happens after this step.

For those who had a similar timeline, how long did it take between your fingerprint appointment and receiving your physical titre de séjour card? Did you receive any updates soon after the appointment, or was there another waiting period before the card was available?

I would also appreciate any advice on what I should prepare before going to the appointment. Are there any specific documents I should bring besides the convocation and passport? Should I prepare extra documents in case the prefecture requests additional information?

I would be grateful if anyone could share their experience, especially if you applied around the same period or are in the same situation. Thank you in advance for your help!
