DSV Freight Forwarder Program

I graduated college last year with a BBA in International Business and foreign language (it’s a European language) with a concentration on International Trade and Supply Chain Management. I have been looking for entry level roles in logistics for a very long time but I do not live in an area where there is much air or ocean import/export. I therefore ended up finding a job in sales in which we primarily serve the international market but I do not like sales.

The DSV trainee program caught my eye and I am seriously considering applying but I do not have experience and I did internships but they do not relate to logistics. Do I have a chance? What could I focus on to have a chance of being accepted?

Final interview ended up being more casual than I thought and I’m not sure what to think

I had my final interview with a Fortune 500 company a few days ago. The recruiter gave me a few resources and pointers to help me prepare. She said that since this is a behavioral interview, I should expect some STAR format questions to see if I would be a cultural fit since I had passed the technical stage of the interview. I was also told to expect it to take no longer an hour.

My actual interview was nothing of the sort and I couldn’t help but felt thrown off. Turns out, the interview wasn’t an hour but was going to be 30 minutes. Additionally, it was a more relaxed, round table conversation than it was an interview. The questions asked were pretty much digging out my background and experience, asking in various ways “why are you leaving your company”, “why should we choose you”, etc. They gave a brief introduction about themselves but that’s it. Absolutely nothing about the division I will be working in, the actual product itself, and more importantly no questions revolving around my work style, how I handle certain situations, or anything to allow myself to show what I will bring to the team. They had emphasized STAR format which I used a few times but none of the questions were “tell me a time….” Or “how do you handle X?”. Most of the questions had to do with my resume which I have already answered in the first two.

I’m not sure if they just liked me already and threw the formalities out the window or if there’s some sort of miscommunication between the hiring managers and the recruiter on expectations for each step of the interview process. I just felt like I was expecting more for the final interview and in the end it felt just like the other rounds of interviews. In any case, the entire process felt fast tracked as I went through all three rounds in a matter of 7 working days.

The good news was that they were forthcoming in the next steps and told me I will hear back Friday (today) if I got the job. No mention of “we have other candidates”. They’ve stuck to their word thus far so if I don’t hear back I will assume I didn’t get it.

Woman Uses Deputy’s Identity to Buy Car from Toyota Dealership

From those police bodycam vids on YouTube.

Has anyone seen this? It’s fucking insane. This is just another level of stupidity and negligence I didn’t even think would exist. A woman is sat inside a dealership using a man’s identity to buy a car, yet the stealership still sells and delivers the car. Yes, delivers because it was the deputy that had to make the call after the stealership let the woman drive off the lot. At what point did they realize that the person they’re running the credit report on belongs to a man but a woman is sat in front of them???

Anything for a sale though, right? What should you expect through from a profession that doesn’t even require a high school degree.

Final Interview at ADP for HRO division - any tips/advice?

Hi all,

I have my final interview for an inbound sales position within the HRO division this upcoming Thursday. I had already met the VPs of HRO so this final interview will be with the sales executives/leaders of each of the areas within the division. I've been told this interview is more behavioral and assessing if I am a cultural fit. I've hit it off thus far in the phone screening and the first in person interview which was understanding my qualifications (background, experience, skills) and I don't want to ruin that momentum. Especially since the VPs really liked me and were impressed by my resume.

I could not find much about the HRO division through Glassdoor, indeed, etc. Most of my understanding is based on what I've been told throughout the interview process as well as through the few bits and pieces I've found on the internet. I have friends who work/ed at ADP they work/ed for the SBS division or as implementation specialists which is very common for recent grads to start out. From my understanding, the HRO division is for more tenured employees so diverts from much of the perceptions surrounding ADP (I already have 2+ years of professional experience).

Had anyone interviewed for a position in HRO recently and knows what questions could be asked at the final stage? I am looking to get out of a toxic job and a long commute to said job so getting the job at ADP would mean a whole lot even if it's not a forever job. TIA.

8th walnut parking garage - issue with paying ticket. How can I pay later?

I parked at 8th walnut parking garage today. Scanned the barcode when exiting. When it got to payment I used tap to pay and it said my credit card was invalid. I used the physical card and it still said it was invalid. Bank card same thing. There is no issue with my credit card as I had used it before.

I rang the bell for help. They lifted the gate then told me to wait and don’t leave the car. I waited 10 minutes, tried looking for management, and no one came over so I drove off.

Is there a way to pay online when it doesn’t work at the gate and no one was there? I realized I fucked up and I don’t want to get a fine.

Should I drive to Philadelphia Airport or take SEPTA (two regional rail trains)?

I’m flying out of Philly for vacation and I’m debating whether to drive to the airport or to take SEPTA. I live in the Philly suburbs and the nearest septa regional rail train is 15 minutes from my house. If I take SEPTA, I will have to take my regional rail line to CC then take the train to the airport. This totals up to 90 minutes of travel without delays and assuming a smooth transfer. Not to mention, the RR to CC comes at my station every hour, so that is something to account for in travel, therefore making my travel possibly 2+ hours.

However, SEPTA regional rail has been a shitshow recently (take it from someone who commutes to CC 5 days a week for work) and delays leave very little margin for error. With driving, there is traffic on the 476 & I95, but it will still be quicker than the regional rail as the airport is a 1 hour drive from my house including traffic.

Most of my concerns are to do with parking. I heard about cars being broken into when they’re parked in the airport garage, which is obviously concerning if I’m going to be away for a week. I drive an ordinary albeit newer car which I recently bought, so I don’t want to take any chances. At the same time, god knows what could happen when being parked at a SEPTA train station for equally as long.

What do you think? Should I drive or just chance it with septa?

Edit: thank you for your responses. I realize I should’ve been more specific about how far outside of Philly I live but didn’t want to dox myself. I am on the further side of LAN line, so I’m not sure if an uber would be ideal.

Coworker gave me an attitude after I refused to take a call during my 1hr unpaid lunch break

This is just a vent.

I don’t my lunch everyday at 1pm. It’s been like this since I started this job a year ago. Someone called our office at around 1:20pm. We do not have extensions so everyone receives a call and someone is expected to pick up in two rings. Anyways, my coworker takes it, and it turns out that it is a prospective customer that I had only recently been in contact with. I am in the kitchen cutting fruit as part of my lunch.

The second I walk back to my desk, with a plate of food in my hand, my coworker tells me who it is, then, get this, asks if I can take the. I tell him kindly I am on my lunch break and I will return the call after I’m done. He doubles down, I repeat the same thing, then he gives me an “….uh, okay?” With an annoyed tone in his voice. He then proceeds to tell my prospective customer on the phone to that I don’t remember them, to send an email to me “to jog my memory” then saying I will get back to them once I return.

I was annoyed because I am very respectful of my colleagues time. If someone calls our office needing one of my colleagues and I see them eating lunch or having the door closed I will tell the other person to either call back or ask if I can pass a message. The fact I don’t receive the same respect is irritating.

I’m debating whether to report this to HR because this is a highly liked tenured colleague. In any case I have been very close to quitting this week without caring about having a job lined up or not. I did have a phone screening which led to me getting through to the next stage which is an in person 1hr interview, so I’m hoping that goes somewhere and I will jump ship.

Working at ADP as a recent graduate

A recruiter from ADP reached out to me about a position they’re looking to fill for one of its departments. I graduated last year and got my current job (also in sales) pretty much the week before I graduated. The pay is miles better than what I’m earning right now at my current job for the same position (theirs is all-in base + commission, mine is base salary only) and they are hybrid which is what I’m looking for. Had a phone screening yesterday which went a lot better than I had expected and got invited to the next stage which is an in person interview.

Saw mixed reviews about ADP’s Allentown office and them as a company. It’s either people quit within six months or stay there for 10-15 years, no in between. Can any current or past ADP employees that work or have worked for ADP in Allentown give some insight into what it’s really like? Thank you.

Applying to work at dealerships as someone with a bachelors… have I ended my career before I started?

I graduated from college a year ago and currently work full-time at an office job at a major city. It’s an hour commute as I live in the suburbs outside of the city and while I appreciate gaining experience, the money I’m earning isn’t worth the amount of time I spend commuting and staying in this job. I also take a form of public transport which can run up to half an hour late on most states so I sometimes literally take up my entire day working and commuting.

Anyway, I have been on the search and eventually ended up applying for Sales Consultant and BDC jobs at the local dealerships. I have a strong interest in the automotive industry having done a majority of my projects snd reports around it in college. I’m not a staunch enthusiast but I have more passion and knowledge for it than the average person. My current job is also in sales and I find it rewarding because you get out what you put in. While I haven’t thought about working in car sales until recently after not being able to find jobs of my career interest (transport/logistics) that don’t pay low and/or require experience,I find it would be a great challenge and much more interesting than my current job so I went for it. Also, I eventually would like to start my own business and already have some ideas, so working at a dealership would allow me to build and improve my sales and entrepreneurial skills because I am my own boss in a way and I’ll be able to build and manage my own book of business once I get the leads.

A hiring manager from a Nissan dealership contacted me yesterday inviting me to an interview next week which I have accepted. While I’m very excited, I have some reservations, mostly to do with the reputation of car salespeople and how that can affect future opportunities for me. I won’t lie, I’m not going to be doing this forever, only a few years until I can pay off my debt and afford to get a masters without taking out loans. I also think my family will be disappointed in me because I have a degree and they see jobs that don’t require one as unskilled childsplay.

I would appreciate it if someone could give me reassurance in entering car sales/automotive industry as someone with a college degree. Would I have shot myself in the foot once I enter and this doesn’t work out? And what is it I need to know about Nissan dealerships in particular that would help me out? I appreciate all advice and comments, including a reality check.

Planet Fitness Billing for Monthly Fee

So I’m aware that Planet Fitness will try to pull money from your account for the monthly fee quite early, like the 10th or 11th. What happens if the 11th falls on the weekend? The 17th is also a Friday this month. I just want to avoid any issues with payment because I’ve had issues before and was hit with $35 a day after the due ($15 + $20 late fee) since staff were rude and unhelpful with the issue. It wasn’t to do with my bank. Last month, money was taken out last month and I saw it a pending charge on my bank account on the 15th, so there aren’t issues with my bank account as it stands.

Any advice? Thanks

I think I messed up on a return and I’m freaking out

I was helping a relative return an item that they got from a vendor as a gift. They already had a shipping label printed and attached to the package with a QR code already attached to the label. They assured me that the QR code is the code for the return and all I need to do is drop it off. Great. I go to the UPS store and there is a kiosk for return drop offs. I scanned the QR code and it must’ve worked because something printed and I left it in the drop off area and went about my business. I realized that what printed was the drop off receipt.

Here is where shit hits the fan. When I get back home I look up the tracking number of the drop off receipt and it’s the same tracking number that was used for shipment. Also, the weight says N/A which is also weird.

I call the UPS store and they assured me I did everything right. When I asked for an explanation on the tracking number they said it should reset Monday morning. I still can’t wrap my head around it, because returns have their own separate tracking number from what I understand.

I don’t even know, I’m freaking out that now my package is just sitting there and even worse there is no proof of return. Luckily it was a gift so no refund needs to be generated but I am concerned that I will get charged for shipping. I don’t know what to do now, can anyone please help?

Breaking in my 2026 Corolla LE (ICE)

Bought her three weeks ago and my gas tank then when full was barely under 300mi and when my average mpg was 30mpg, less than city average. Now she’s starting to break in and hopefully I can get more mpg out of her as well as mileage in gas tank.

For reference, my commute consists of mostly 60mph highway with stop and go intersection traffic. Hoping to hit over 40+ average mpg soon, but these numbers aren’t bad given it’s an ICE model and my commute is a mix of (mostly) 60mph highway with stop and go intersection traffic.

She can’t even hide it lmao

I know Last Resort is basically everyone collecting a TLC paycheck but girl, at least pretend you give a damn for the storyline. She was smiling a second before he started to speak then looked super annoyed like she despises him, it’s weird odd behavior. All that and Gulliermo still walked away- Kara is not that girl, sorry.

Dashcam for 2026 Corolla

First of all, I want to apologize in advance if this is a stupid question.

Looking for a dashcam that is either wireless or USB-c powered because of the design flaw with the 12v charger/cig lighter being located in the center console, I’m worried the application and installation will require having to keep the console open because of the wires being too thick. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to conceal the wiring throughout my car (whether I install above or below the seats) and therefore block my rear view.

Anyone got any recs? Or could someone please correct me if I’m wrong and is in fact using a dashcam with a 12v charger/cig lighter on a 2026 without too much wire snowing or their center console being left open?

Edited to fix any spelling/grammar mistakes

Is it possible to pay extended warranty up front after it was rolled into the financed amount?

Yesterday I bought a 2026 Toyota Corolla. Had to sign paperwork with finance manager as you do. Of course was offering me all the protections possible which I refused, but then when he offered the extended warranty I was on the fence. Reasons were that it was a third party extended warranty which I was very weary about and it was also $2.8k. I did plan on getting one due to the CVT and tech (Toyotas now are not the Toyotas in the 00s/10s). I asked if I would be able to purchase it later allowed to the factory warranty expiring as it was steep and he told me I would have to get it today.

I then proposed to him that if he can get 30% off the warranty cost and also find me a better rate (I was at 7.3% APR for 60mo despite having a 765 credit score) I would take it. He took off 30% of the price making it $1.7l, and sure enough, I was able to get a better rate which is now 4.99% APR for 60 months advertised by Toyota. This lowered my original monthly payment without the warranty by $40-50.

I regret having it rolled to the financed amount as now I’ll be paying interest on the warranty making the savings nonexistent. I should’ve paid for the warranty upfront with my credit card. I’m wondering if it’s still possible for me to pay the extended warranty upfront in the next month and how this will affect my payment? Or am I screwed now? Don’t really want to go back to the dealership and tell them I’m cancelling as I had a rough start and don’t want to go back again.

Was this stupid?

I just bought a 2026 Corolla and had to sign papers as you do with the finance manager. He offered me all the theft protection, paint protection, etc you could think of. It was very easy to reject all of them but I was on the fence with the extended warranty which was $2.5k.

Initially, I rejected it because it’s a damn new Toyota. But then he started feeding me ideas about rising repair costs and I started second guessing because I plan to keep it 10+ years which I’m not sure will be possible with the tech and CVT. Finance manager was damn near convincing. I then tried to see if he would take 30% off the warranty and offered me a lower interest rate (For context, I was originally offered a 7.31% APR for 60mo despite having a 765 credit score).

Sure enough, finance manager magically finds me a 4.99% interest rate offered by Toyota Financial and lowered the price of the warranty to $1.7k. I felt kinda stupid for having added the extended warranty but it was a calculated risk especially with the newer CVTs and tech. I also felt this was part of the game and I won some, lost some.

What do you guys think?
