TMW you realize you are too hardcore of a fan

Was just watching the newest episode with some friends who have watched all the seasons of AHS, but I guess I'm next level.

I said the iconic "What is this... knotty pine" alongside Fiona to the exact second/cadence . All my friends were in uproar that I must have already watched the episode.

To which I replied "please you think I would be subjecting myself to this garbage again if I already watched it. Come on guys, it's Coven, it's knotty pine, it's the thing...?"

Nope, crickets.

Carton is an insufferable piece of shit

I just happened to be in my car driving the last half an hour and holy crap he committed numerous fire able offenses:

-keeps referencing TNF as an "overtime" win for the Browns

-said Jeff Bezos' wife must have a "golden you know what" to keep her around before making a horrible comment about her** appearance

-hung up on a caller explaining the numerous unlucky events that have befallen the Giants over the last few years to explain why he thinks they are cursed "I don't need you to tell me what happened"-- clearly he does since he doesn't even know the result of last night's game, let alone the result of a game that happened last year.

-keeps poking the most immature jabs at Morash and Loogie. Why as a viewer would I ever want to tune in to WFAN to listen to them if they are as bad as Carton keeps making them out to be.

What's the earliest you would consider taking Jack Hughes in the first round?

I know he carries a massive injury risk, but I really believe he is one of the most dynamic offensive players in the league other than McDavid and MacKinnon and that he is due for an explosive season.

Seeing Robertson, Johnston, Necas ahead of him is mind boggling to me unless I am underplaying Hughes injury risk factor.

But I am considering drafting him at 8th overall assuming the draft goes with the expected top 7 of Mcdavid, MacKinnon, Celebrini, Draisaitl, Kucherov, Makar and Kaprizov.

And yes that means I have him ahead of Pastrnak.

I'm a Rangers fan and I'm terrified of the *potential* the Devils have of being the top team in the Metro.

[TOMT] (movie or show) Girlfriend confronts boyfriend upon being realized he was cheating

This is definitely something more recently. What I remember is the girl in a very sarcastic tone mocking the boyfriend in front of the 'other women' upon being caught. Or something along these lines.

Not verbatim but she uses his own words against him "I love you, I want to marry you, you're the only girl for me, have my babies".

I feel like the answer is going to be super obvious as I believe it's from a show or movie that is very well known.

Getting caught up on making it through the beginning of season 2

I finally took the plunge and breezed through season 1 loving every second of it, telling everyone I know what a fantastic show this (getting many replies like "we been knew, no shit Sherlock")

But the feeling of season 2 is just... Different. The start to this season after the huge climax of the first episode (the deaths in the hotel) has been slow and boring. Maybe season 1 was just so epic it set impossible standards? Or is season 2 known to be an outlier and I need to just power through?

Anyone see the film Color Copy (2023) about a journalism student and her professor?

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt22392694/

I'm sorry, but it's the biggest blatant rip off of another film I've ever seen. It's essentially Whiplash, but replace music with journalism and two female characters.

Yes, it's pretty much a female accompaniment of Whiplash, hits all the same beats with the cutthroat professor taking on the mentor role of a student that is desperate to win her approval. The same ending of the student becoming the teacher, screwing over their elder, and getting a nod of approval as the teacher revels in the monster they created at their own expense.

[TOMT] Horror film released within last 2-3 years

I actually only saw the trailer for this while in a theater for another film within the last 2ish years that I never came across again, and I consider myself to be very in the know when it comes to horror releases (I'm in on recent releases such as It Ends, Buddy, Bury the Devil, etc.) so nothing gets past me except for this one film and so that's why this is driving me so nuts.

I don't really have much other than the trailer featured a young child approaching a giant mansion in a snowstorm and having to spend the weekend there while waiting for a funeral or something of the sort.

I understand if this is not nearly enough information to go off. But this film just completely disappeared off the face of the earth.

Thoughts on Dobes this upcoming season?

I feel like his GAA and SV% from last season are rather unimpressive, but I also seem to recall those stats were a bit inflated and he was super solid from the Olympic break on out.

Do you view him as a top goalie breakout? Or an avoid with a bit of an uncertain situation with Fowler looming, an a very difficult Atlantic division?

Would you be satisfied with him as your 2nd goalie?

All of those small horror movie review channels that have taken over IG

Do these people get paid to promote some of the garbage they "review"? For example this terrible movie Sawtooth Mountain just released on Tubi and so many of these "channels" (which is really just one person in front of a camera) were spamming the shit out of this with all of them providing unrealistically glowing reviews.

Teasing "Bigfoot and alien sightings" when there was none of that.

Is it proper etiquette to ask how many reps left on a machine/to jump in mid rep?

My Crunch is always hella busy, so an open machine is considered prime real estate. But I get really annoyed whenever I'm mid-set, like literally in the middle of pushing/pulling the lever row, and I see someone in the mirror standing awkwardly behind me trying to get my attention to ask how many sets I have left?

The reason I dislike this behavior is because knowing how many sets I have left is not really your intention. Your intention is to make your presence known, so I know you are waiting for me to finish so they can hop on, so no screwing around type thing.

The ONLY time I let someone hop on mid set is if they first start with "I will leave the weight at whatever you have it set at, just bang out 10 reps in 10 seconds, wipe the machine down, then it's all right back to you and I'll adjust the weight once you are done". Because that is at least considerate and acknowledging my time, and agreeing that this is not solely all about themselves.

Sometimes I feel like it's clear I'm not a jacked bodybuilder that my workout isn't as important.

Lastly, it's not like if I answer "I have 3 to go", they are not going to go to another machine to best utilize their waiting time because 1.) every other machine is taken anyway and 2.) if you walk away and someone else sees me finish on a machine, they will swoop right in before you even have the chance to make it back in place.

Or you can just reply to this post and let me know this is not that deep and it's actually proper etiquette to distract someone while they are handling 100+ pounds of equipment.

That one time I recalled a joke at work and got called into HR

This was last fall--- I am in a fantasy hockey league with a number of my friends. One of my coworkers is somewhat knowledgeable when it comes to hockey and asked to see my team. He immediately saw my team name was "Waystar Radko Gudas" (a play on Waystar Roy Co from Succession IYKYK) which he got a kick out of.

This then led to a conversation about how creative and witty fantasy hockey names are my specialty, so he asked for a few examples. I then said well one of my league mates drafted all 3 Hughes brothers, Adam Fox, Zach Hyman, Jeremy Swayman and Jakob Chychrun, pretty much every prominent Jewish NHL player. This was not done purposely, but moreso they just happened to be the best player available at each draft slot.

Most of my league mates are Jewish, including myself, and when it was pointed out that all the Jewish players ended up accumulated on one team, I very obviously jokingly said "Well you should name your team Schindler's List".

I recounted this story to said fellow coworker, got a good laugh out of it, but I guess another coworker overheard just the end bit, from their POV it was completely out of context.

Two hours later I get pulled from my desk and thrown into a call with HR questioning why I am making anti-Semitic comments in the workplace. Which was wild to hear, considering I am the only Jew in the department. So I had to explain myself, pulled out my phone, showed them all my hilariously ridiculous fantasy hockey team names from the past.

HR was flabbergasted how this story got so misconstrued, they embarrassingly sighed and said "just go, get out of here go back to your desk" and hung up on me.

Cost Plus Pharmacy very positive experience

I get a 3 month supply of oral dut and 5 mg minoxidil via Cost Plus Pharmacy sent directly by my dermatologist for $35, $10 of which was for S&H.

Obviously the cost of a dermatologist visit varies based on insurance policies and what not, but I would definitely recommend going this route instead of having to pay $100 plus monthly subscriptions via HIMS or Keeps or whatever.

Also comparing to my local Walgreens, the same order between the two would have came to over $70 and that's with the Good RX discount.

Cost Plus was very efficient, they filled and mailed my order within 48 hours of seeing my dermatologist and received less than a week out.

So just a recommendation based on the cost effectiveness.

One of the memorable games from the 2011-12 season (CAR @ NYR 11/11/11

Featuring one of the last goals of Sean Avery's career, two quick goals in the 3rd period to take the lead. MSG going nuts for Dubinsky finally getting on the board.

The vibes were off the chain that entire season. Everything went right except for the Devils not losing to the Panthers in double OT of Game 7 like they should have.

2011-12 Black and Blueshirts forever >>>>

TIL... the Minnesota North Stars rebranded to 'Stars' jerseys two years prior to relocation.

The jerseys the North Stars wore from 1991-93 were the same exact jerseys Dallas had first worn.

Interesting to see the North Stars with the darker green and black jerseys.

Perhaps this was a wide known fact that the North Stars were moving to Dallas and this was done purposely in preparation to move away from the North Stars branding.

The aftermath of the huge Ron/Sam S3 fight is wild to watch unfold

But at least years after the fact we can finally laugh at Ron going in Sam's face "I call the smush room tonight, you better not be here when I get back, because I'm bringing 3 girls home and I'm going to **** the **** out of them".

Then the next scene is Ron "we broke up 45 minutes ago and she had the audacity to dance with another guy? I wanna wring her neck right now (yikes). Just so angry with Sam. Can't believe she was dancing with some guy. Whether we broke up or not, I think that's disrespectful."

Yeah Ron, dancing with a guy is really disrespectful compared to your foursome with hookers you were just bragging about.

There is another kinda hilarious moment when Ron goes "Snooks was right, you are a slut." Snooks goes "I never said that". Cut to Snooks "You are a slutty ass b*****".

Tv gold.

Mike also had the line of the season "Ron was pissed at me for guy code, it's like, where is general human code?"

Are there several sub-species of Great White sharks?

It's hard to explain, but I've always noticed several clear distinctions amongst Great Whites. I wasn't sure if it's something that is regional, or as something as simple as male vs. female?

For example, you have these Great Whites that look like the definition of power and strength

https://assets.iflscience.com/assets/articleNo/75355/aImg/77888/great-white-shark-underwater-o.webp

And then you have these Great Whites that look fat and slow and harmless (in comparison).

How do Trump supporters feel about Trump interfering in the World Cup after their battle cry or "keep politics out of sports"? How do Trump supporters justify Balogun being a birthright citizenship?

And now you wonder why we all call you hypocrites with no standards.

"Small government with no federal overreach!" was another Conservative 'policy' that you have completely abandoned in support of Trump.

Aka.. RINO.

I read through every page of the texts released between Mackenzie Shirilla and Dominic Russo. AMA

Mackenzie was a texting DEMON, often sending 10-20 texts in a row if Dom didn't answer immediately. She would threaten to break up with him over and over again (last chance, last chance). She would do a countdown (I'm expecting an apology in 10, 9, 8, etc. over individual texts).

She would constantly be little him for his "dry ass responses". She would constantly show up at his house (which she often referred to as their house, if not even her house).

She would fly off the handle over the most minor of things, such as Dom recommending a breathing exercise to help manage her anger issues. The suggestion of it would just get her even more mad and set off an escalation of days worth of fighting.

There was one kinda hilarious moment that sparked a huge texting fight where Mackenzie was talking about her parents, then mid conversation shifts to mentioning "they want me to go to Ohio State", to which Dom rightfully replied "Idk about that, you always said you hated school, you barely did your homework in high school". Mackenzie then replies "For a party Dom. There's a party"??? Dom was absolutely correct to assume she was referencing her parents wanting her to enroll at Ohio State for college and not just a random party mentioned out of nowhere.

But the most common argument that Mackenzie always threw in Doms face was a cheating incident from a few years back. It seems Dom had long owned up to it. This was Mackenzie's crutch, her get out of jail free card.

I feel bad for Dom with how relentlessly she argued with him over texts. Every day it was "we have problems that you need to fix". Dom would always bring up that he's not the only problem in the relationship, that she brings problems to the table as well that she needs to work through.

Dom really tried his best... Often buying her whatever she needed, often resulting in an argument because something went wrong with what she bought (and this was a big hang up as well. She would always say "I bought it, even if it was with your money that you gave me, I still bought it for myself".)

Feel really bad for the kid, he didn't stand a chance. Rip.
