Is there a top spool mount like this that allows for the lid to stay on?

Is there a top spool mount like this that allows for the lid to stay on?

Because of the space I have available, I don't have much room on the sides of my standard K1, or access to the back. So loading filament is a bit awkward. Ideally I'd like to have the spool mounted on top towards the back, and still have the lid on and use of the filament runout sensor. My instincts tell me I'm probably not the first person to want something like this and I am surprised I can't find one already designed.

Before I go down the path of trying to model one myself, has anyone seen a project like this?

Thanks in advance.

What's the best printable Thor Hammer (Mjolnir) out there?

My stepson asked if we could make a Mjolnir using my 3D printers. Looking around online, there is exactly one crap ton of different projects available. Ha ha.

Can anyone recommend one that is especially good? Preferably free, but I don't mind shelling out a few bucks if it's worth it. Thanks in advance.

Manage Threads Library option is missing from my menu

The Manage Threads Library option appears to be missing when I open the Utility dropdown. I can't seem to find any reason this should be. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

PreSonos Ceres 3.5 speakers. Left speaker has gone quiet.

I've had a pair of PreSonos Ceres 3.5 BTs as my computer speakers for years. Recently I noticed that the left speaker is much quieter than the right (about half as loud). I've tried switching the left and right inputs and using a different source and saw the same results. So I assume there is something wrong in the device.

I am hopeing somone can give me some guidence of how to find the couse of the issue once I take it apart.

I am okay with a soldering iron and own a multimeter, but am certinaly not an electronics expert. So any advice would be appreciated.

Here is the product page, if that is helpful.

How to cover the transition from carpet to tile?

In my girlfriend's apartment, the carpet comes right up to the tile at the bathroom door with no threshold plate (Not sure of that term). If you step right on it, you can feel the tackstrip pocking up just a bit, so I want to fix it by adding a threshold plate.

The carpet is slightly lower than the tile, but not by much.

Questions:

  1. Is "threshold plate" the correct name for the part I want?

  2. Is there a particular type I want for going from carpet to tile?

  3. Any other tips or suggestions would be appreciated

What time does the show start at the Troubadour when doors are at 6pm?

I don't go to live music shows often, and so I am a bad judge of when I should get there. On this occasion, I am the organizer for a group of people, so the pressure is on. These are non-drinkers, so getting there early would be a real bummer. But a couple of people really want to see the opening act, so late would be bad too.

We have tickets to see James McMurtry at the Troubadour on the 19th. The only info is "Doors: 6:00PM". Can anyone say, with confidence, what times the opening act (BettySoo) and the featured act are due to go on (respectively)?

Should I replace or repair a warped rim with broken spokes on an old bike.

This weekend bought a used bike for my 10-year-old stepson since he has outgrown his current one. It is a Specialized Hotrock with 24" wheels (I think it's a 2012 model). The bike is in okay shape, but it looks like it's been sitting for a long time, so I plan on refreshing all the rubber parts and giving it a good round of cleaning and lubing.

The one issue I am not sure how to handle is the warped rear rim. It's well warped, and there is at least one broken spoke. Fixing that is a job I'd need a shop to handle, but it was suggested to me that, with the age of the wheel, I may be better off just buying a new one.

Is that correct? If so, could someone point me to a suitable replacement?

Below is a picture of the model bike in question. This is not the bike I bought and is just for reference.

1st print was fine, 2nd time has goopy supports. How? Why? Help?

I just got this clear blue Elegoo Water Washable resin. The first print I did came out fine (the one on the right after curing). I then topped up the resin in the vat a bit and ran it again (the exact same file). After washing the print I noticed the supports are all goopy looking (pictures on the left).

Any thoughts on what I may have done wrong on the 2nd print?

For reference I am using a very new Elegoo Saturn 2. The printer was not moved, the ambient temperature was the same (75ish degrees).

Note: I do not have a lot of resin printing experience. So if there is an obvious answer, please don't hesitate to suggest it.

Thoughts on a ban on electronic amplification for street performers

Personal feelings:
I find street performers who use mics and amplifiers/speakers, bullhorns, or anything to make themselves louder, obnoxious. It's especially bad on 3rd street, where the sound echos between the buildings.

It seems to have become a bit of an arms race, getting louder and louder. Even when the performance is something I'd enjoy, they are usually so loud it kinda kills it. And then there are some "performers" that are truly just there with the intent to be obnoxious and turn it up to 11.

Questions:

I'm sure there are at least some people who feel the same, but how do you think the majority feel?

Has there ever been an ordinance, or attempt to institute one, that would ban amplification on public property in certain areas where street performs usualy are (3rd st, boardwalk, etc.)

If so, how did it work out? Or if not, do you think it would fly?

Is there an all in one wash and cure station for the Saturn 2

This is a long shot, but...

Years back, I bought an Elegoo Mars along with a Mercury Plus v2 wash and cure. I really like the convenience of a dedicated washing and curing machine, and having them be the same machine is all the better. It's made for a very compact workspace.

Recently, I came across a great deal on a Saturn 2 and decided to upgrade. Unfortunately, my Mercury Plus v2 is too small for the Saturn 2. It looks like the Mercury XS would be the correct upgrade for the same functionality, but that is two separate machines.

Again, I know this is a long shot, but are there any two-in-one wash/cure machines on the market that are compatible with the Saturn 2?

Filaments with minimal pigment used to blend colors

A long time ago, I bought a cheap roll of "white" PETG. However when I went to use it is had a LOT less pigment than what I was used to. It ended up being fairly translucent.

,I wonder if that could be exploited for HueForge prints, allowing the color below to bleed through and make for soft transitions.

Black ops Cold War poster value?

I worked at Treyarch for a time. While I was there, every employee received a selection of very high-quality posters. They are about 2'x3' and printed on VERY thick card stock. So thick that you really would not be able to roll it up in a poster tube without damaging it.

The one pictured above is the only one I kept, and I've decided I no longer have room for it. It has the names of all/many of the people who worked on the game printed in the background. I beleive these were only given to Treyarch or Activision employees.

Does anyone happen to know if these hold any value to collectors and what that value may be? I have not been able to find any listings or sales of them online.

My usual order recently at Carls Jr is two Famous Stars.  When I go to my usual spot and place my order, they say, "Okay, two Famous Stars Mix and Match," and ring it up with the Mix and Match price/discount.  I do not need to say "Mix and Match".

Recently, I went to a different Carls Jr (6457 Sepulveda Blvd, Van Nuys, CA 91411) and ordered my usual at the drive-through.  He said, "I'll give you your total at the window".  When I got to the window, the price was much higher than normal.  I said, "That's more than usual".  He confirmed my order and said that it was the correct price.  I asked, "Isn't there a special..." and then I saw the poster in the window ahead and was reminded of the name.  "Mix and Match?" and pointed to the window.  He said, "Oh, you want the Mix and Match?" I said yes, and he took $5 or $6 off the price.

While waiting for the food, I asked him why he didn't just give me that price in the first place, and we proceeded to have a very friendly conversation where he explained that if someone did not ask for a sale price by name, he did not give or offer it to them.  He was taking the opportunity to make more money on the sale.  Even though I kept a smile on my face, I was still surprised that he seemed to think I would be totally cool with him taking a shot at me like that.

I got the distinct impression that this was not just an employee.  He was older and dressed nicely.  My guess is he was the owner or manager.
