Nacho toppings and alfredo lasagna

Nacho topping, alfredo lasagna, zucchini falafel and cowboy cookie square.

The nacho toppings is black beans, corn, red pepper, spinach, shredded pork (I had no shredded chicken) and enchilada sauce all mixed up and frozen in a large ice cube tray, each one holds about 1/3rd cup. Thaw and bake or microwave on nachos with cheese.

Alfredo lasagna is ricotta, alfredo sauce, spinach, broccoli and cooked chicken. I mixed the sauce, ricotta, spinach and broccoli together and layered that with sliced chicken (shredded would've been better) and oven ready lasagna noodles. I parbaked it so it would stay together better. One needed a little extra liquid so I poured some chicken broth on it and baked it a bit longer.

The alfredo lasagna may be the best thing I've ever made.

Roommates cat decided to climb onto my window to hiss at outdoor cats

I moved everything away from the window because we're putting new ones in tomorrow, I have no idea how she got 10 feet up.

She's fine now that I got her down.

Had the most ungrateful little fosters the last 2 weeks, here they are melting in a nice cool basement instead of 113° humidex

HR can only meet with me outside my work hours. Should I be paid for the meeting?

I'm having issues with my boss being hostile (legitimately hostile) towards me because I'm on modified duty. There is an active investigation now and I have a meeting with HR tomorrow but tomorrow is our day off for canada day. We're technically contractors at a company that does 4th of July instead (tax stuff is taken care of) so we have the Friday off for the holiday, but other locations in our company doesn't.

In addition to this I work evenings and midnights, so I'm pretty much never going to get an HR meeting during my work hours. It feels unfair that I have to spend part of a "holiday" in a work related meeting.

I have a consultation with a lawyer before the HR meeting, but I wanted to see if this is even a reasonable thing to ask for.

Windsor Essex area if it matters. I am an hourly employee.

Does it count as a lunchable if you use a spoon?

Chicken roll ups, BBQ mayo, orzo pasta salad and cherries.

Covered where I accidentally put horseradish mayo 🤢

Does anyone know what Khao Sweih Kyaw is?

There is a Burmese restaurant where I used to live that had Khao Sweih Kyaw on the menu. It was my absolute favourite but I can't find anything about it online.

It lists the ingredients:

Chi, wheat noodle, onion, carrot, egg, cabbage

I miss it and want to try and make it but I can't find a recipe. I live 20 hours away now.

Thank you anyone that tries to help!

I never remember to thaw my stuff and I don't like leaving it on the stove so I got a mini rice cooker

It fits a one portion perfectly. I made all my soups so a bit of water needs to be added, this is spaghetti sauce and there's a little water and extra tomato sauce. This way it moves to keep warm while I'm not in the room and I don't have to leave the stove on.

My living situation is a little rocky and I don't like sitting in the kitchen if I don't have to, plus this way I can heat up food in my room.

First time fostering + my cat

The humane society can't take them for 2 weeks so I'm fostering. They're so sweet but messy and don't seem to sleep.

Please notice the sitting in the dry food to eat the wet food.

Last picture is Poppy when my mom asked how she felt about the kittens

All fugitives are in custody and receiving rehabilitation or awaiting transport

Spent the week trapping the kittens in my backyard, the first group were severely underweight and sick, they went to the humane society on Monday and the last two were a surprise trapping since someone set up the trap and didn't tell me. The two black ones are healthy enough that they can stay with me until the humane society opens instead of calling the emergency pick up.

I'm working with a cat rescue to catch their mama but she's hard to get. Unfortunately it was decided separating them from her was the best option based of their health.

Twinkle toes has the white toes, the tabbies are toffee and Caramel, the other two black ones are mocha and cocoa.

Update: the humane society is having me foster Mocha and Twinkle Toes for 2 weeks! Best birthday present!

Anywhere I can rent or borrow a drop trap for cats?

I have a small colony of cats in my backyard, I've been trying to catch the two adult females for a while but they won't go into a trap they have to crawl in.

Last night I found one of their litters of kittens and they were severely underweight and one was practically blind from eye infections so I trapped them and took them to the humane society. They're only 4-5 weeks old so I'd like to trap their mother and have her stay with them.

I don't really have the money to buy a drop trap so I was hoping someone knows someone that will let me rent or borrow or a cat rescue that does trapping.

How does canned salmon taste compared to frozen?

I love salmon, wanted to start doing sushi bowls or something but it's so expensive. I'm a little nervous to try canned salmon because someone once said it's not comparable at all to frozen salmon.

I mean I guess I could get a can to try and give it to the outside cats if I don't like it but I was wondering if anyone had any insight.

Has anyone called 311 about black mold in their apartment? What happens?

There's black mold in our bathroom ceiling from a leak in May. I informed the landlord may 21st but he hasn't done anything. I have some kind of hearing with the landlord tenant board in July, but we want it fixed sooner since my roommates boyfriend was hospitalized in the past for black mold exposure.

Google says to call 311 for an inspection by the city but it's not really clear what that does. Also our unit is a little less than legal right now, which is what the hearing is about, getting repairs done so it's not a hazard.

I am emailing my lawyer to see if it's a good idea to call 311 about it, she's aware of the mold, but she won't be answering until Monday and 311 isn't open on weekends.

Landlord is also now living in the unit and has seen the mold in person. We think he tried to wipe it off.

A new friend but not a stray. Mr. Mocha

I've seen him around but never close enough to pet. He's a healthy weight and is frequently at one house across the street so I assume he lives there.

Last time I saw him before this it was 3 am and he was howling so loud at another cat I went outside to see what was happening.

I love living with my landlord, especially when he blames me for everything and refuses to talk to anyone else in the house about messes.

My dishes have been in the sink for three hours, my roommates has been in the sink since Tuesday. But it's my fault. I only didn't do mine because I got called into work early.

Same thing happened when our city started the compost program. I followed the guidelines that said I can put greasy pizza boxes in, it didnt get picked up and it was totally the pizza box and not the garbage bags that the guys upstairs put in.

And he won't contact anyone but me about this stuff, even when I tell him several times somethings not mine and I don't know what it is he just keeps asking me.

In considering co tasting my lawyer and seeing if this classifies as harassment because he didn't say anything to Jay about the disgusting bathroom he had, he just cleaned it himself but here I am getting several texts about dishes.

AITAH for moving ALL my stuff out of the kitchen into my room amd not sharing?

All the legal stuff is being handled by a lawyer, I don't need legal advice, and it probably won't apply to where I live anyways. I also can't afford to move.

I'm renting a room in a 4 bedroom basement "apartment". It's rented by the room so any other room is on a separate lease and the shared spaces are just shared. Our landlord was living upstairs but had to move out of the country for a year for work, and is now back and staying in one of the rooms that was empty before eventually moving to a bigger city.

I have filed a landlord tenant board complaint against him for multiple safety and maintenance problems. The other day he talked to me and said if I go through with it he will file for eviction. I'm not worried because it's not going to be possible for him to evict me and I've I formed my lawyer so it will be brought up at the hearing in July, but I'm no longer comfortable using the shared space other than cooking and doing dishes.

The thing is I bought a bigger garbage can for the kitchen, I was buying the paper towels and garbage bags. If I take all this into my room and put back the garbage can he put in originally for 4 people it's like a 4L garbage can that can't fit much. Generally I've been handling the general maintenance of the kitchen and that will stop if I move everything into my room. They also sometimes use my pots and stuff cause I'm the only one that really has any. But also several of my forks have gone missing since the landlord moved in, but that genuinely might be the other roommate. Jokes on him those were cat food forks.

I do like the one roommate though I feel kind of bad that this is screwing her over, but I also know she can afford to buy her own stuff like paper towels and garbage bags because she doordashes food multiple times a week. But also we needed such a big garbage can because she only recycles boxes, so she's putting about 3 times the amount of garbage in there compared to me.

My food in the fridge would stay there and I'm on the fence about moving my dry food. My keurig would be moved onto my desk. I also plan on keeping my dish sponge and dish soap in my room because the landlord has been using mine.

I'm already in the process of rearranging my room for this, but am I the asshole for doing it?

Edit: the lawyer is doing this for free, it costs me nothing to fight him and I'll be getting rent abatement for maintenance I had to do when he refused. If I move it'll cost me money that I won't get back.
